Kudos man. i was searching what's wrong with the card for about 3 days... this short it out and hashing @100mh now! You can also power limit the card at ~85% it will bring wattage down to ~307w without losing speed. (bit better consumption)
Must use the same NVFLASH version as in this video. Do not use the newer version from July. It will not work. IF your having problems, this is most likely it.
No difference in games !The boost core clock of those GPUs its the same 1950-1960mhz.Same FPS on the games!Not worth it for gaming to change bios.Also the new MSI RTX 3080 TRIO GAMING Z LHR is mutch cooler than strix and from GAMING X TRIO as well.

Thank you for the vid. Have liked and subbed. I have 2 gaming trio x 3080 both on Suprim bios now running 95mh/s which I am happy with. But on afterburner, one rtx 3080 settings can go up to 116% power limit but other one is capped at 102%, cannot scroll further. Do you know why this is?

Excellent video, very easy to follow. Did all the steps and noticed my 3080 MSI Trio dropped from 81 mh to 53 on Hive OS using the same settings as my 3080 card. -200 core, 2100 mem, 230 PL fans 90%. I'm getting constant 98's on my other 3080's but my MSI dropped to 53. I took a closer look and saw that you where at 320 on your PL, I cranked it up and now its at 100 MH. Now I wonder if there is another BIOS that could be used as my MSI needs 100 more watts than the other cards to produce the same MH. Would you have any suggestions? Thanks again!
Thanks. Tried with this and suprim x bios, only strix bios worked in hiveos. Not sure is really using the 320w because only the software shows that from the wall can be less. Never tested with electricity meter.
This bios flash did really change a lot of things. I have a Gaming Z Trio. I am on Hive. Core Clock offset Mhz -300, Memory Clock 1900 , Power Limit 320. I get 96.03 MH/s . Any suggestions on reaching the 100 mark?

@@0xgeorgemathew maybe because you fe or gigabyte cards. I use my rig with 2400. If you lower your power consumption the hash rate will drop as well. Try push till is stable sometimes cards needs more power like 240-250w.

The flashing process worked perfectly on one of my two MSI cards. But when I plugged in my second card, it is already recognized as an ASUS card in GPU-Z. Does it mean that I no longer need to do the flashing process on it?
I did it to my card just FYI its pulling 310+ Watts 97ish Hash(WINDOWS) -85 Power Limit -200 Core +1100 Mem 80% Fan speed I dont plan on keeping this bio settings due to how much power its pulling, I tried a different bios(FB) with PL 101, mem1000 its mid 90s hash at 220-40Watts

If all good you should get minim 98, check my settings. Use mem 2300 or 2600 check which is optimal for the card, one of my trio is on 2600 and I'm getting 101 with other if I put the same the hash drops so I use 2308-2350 like that stays around 98-99, also don't forget 3080s needs a very good ventilation put some extra fans. If the vram temp goes up the hashrate will go down. You're welcome. Like and sub. ;)
Any worries about the capacitors handle with so much power? Most of RTX 3080's works with 240 PL and scarries me put so much power on a card that usualy works with 205w.
@@freerid3rx I think so too, but saw on the hiveos forum a guy who told that his card just stop work a few days after put the Suprim X bios on his Trio, problably some capacitor snaped or something like that. Now I'm asking to see if anyone else had this problem.
@@Rick15987 you need to monitor because in these hot weather you can burn down the card. My cards are still working without issues. You need to keep them in a cold environment for longer life.
Once i extract the NVFLASH file , inside the folder all i see is NVFLASH64 application it self i dont see any backup.rom or the other 2 files what do i have to do please help

Hive OS shows wrong power consumption when you use a different brand bios. If it is shown 320W, so the correct is 240W. I could prove it using a smart outlet. Take a look this thread: forum.hiveos.farm/t/msi-3080-gaming-x-pl-locked-at-209w/25624/12
You need Windows and the card needs to be directly connected to the motherboard. Shouldn't be a problem if there are other cards connected with riser but it takes 1 second to remove them.

I have a 5600x which doesn’t have integrated graphics. When I disabled the 3080 I couldn’t type anything in that command prompt my keyboard was working but not in the command prompt. What is this weird issue?
@@freerid3rx I shut down the whole command prompt and restarted from scratch. It worked. For my card strix bios was taking 420W just the card lmao. So I switched to SUPRIM bios. On windows SUPRIM bios is much better. Now m getting 93 speed with reasonable temps. I can do 100 tho but 110 degree vram in full power. So settling with 91 92 due to temp issues.

I did it but still with other card I got hashrate issue ... with single card Hasrate is very good ... BUT it appear two cards are some how connected each other ... because even if I disable Link into AfterBurner ... they still got link and I CANT manage separately them ... Hey I followed step by step and did what you did and I was able to get 99.5 on my pc windows on phoneix but when i put it back to my rig which im running hiveos on im getting 60 mhs which is lower than before. I can see its allowing it to take 240w and 2200 memory but I canged different miners but still getting 60 and below

@@officialmula9427 the 2 Msi trio eat around 650w the other 2 3080 around 500w. So the 2 Msi trio can go to the 1200w plus 2 3070 which consume around 260w and the motherboard with ssd. The other 2 3080 and 2 3070 can go with the 1000w. I always use 2000w for 6 3080 and is enough with 230w per card.
95 is good anyway. Afterburner settings correct? Also check u are not thermal throttling. Sometimes after few months mining on the 3080s the thermal pads and grease turn to oily mush and lead to thermal throttling even though the temperature can be low.
Works on windows with Gaming Z too!! :D cheers m8!! 100+mhz rock stable on my new 2nd test rig wich isn't that much optimized yet and monitor on :D :D :D ps. The watt readings are bugged this way. I have same settings like my Tuf so no way to use that power the rest are the same :)

So I tried suprim x bios as well.. this one from techpowerup: 94.02.42.00.F9 RGB is turned off when you choose steady: 0 0 0 // at dragon center. NiceHash QuickMiner settings: Max Core: 1115 (you can 1175 as well..), Mem Clock delta: 1325, Power limit (W): 425 (for 115% power limit.. you can go up to 116% with 427W too..), Unlock max core voltage (mV): 725. @103mh/s and software power consumption 230w. Warning!!! I have replaced only the memory pads, stock after 1 month of use were oily card will die fast like this!! + I took a bracket off and repaste it as well.. + I added an extra pad between heatpipes and that bracket/plate msi is using.. cause 1 side didn't made any contact with the memory.. For more info youtube this: RTX 3080 MSI Gaming Trio memory temp fix for mining. After padding with 2mm Gelid Solutions GP-Ultimate and thermal grizzly it's day and night! Target GPU Temp. (℃): 70c and Target VRAM/HotSpot Temp. (℃): 80c // now with 18c ambient temps fan level is at 58%. Ah for getting a couple mh/s you need to download nvidiaProfileInspector.. then under "5 - Common" Cuda - Force p2 state.. set it to OFF.. apply changes done. Hope it helps :)

@@3KCA95 with riser not working you need to connect directly to the motherboard and follow the steps exactly like that. Many ppl done it, I've done with 2 cards without any problem. So shouldn't be any problem.

Try Absolute Core 1060, Mem 2400, Fan 70-80, PL 0 Getting 100.2 on my repadded MSI 3080 Trio and throttling on the unpadded one so I set it to Fan 90, Mem 2200 and it's stable at 99.2.

Why would you flash, that card is good, no need to flash it. If u already changed put back the saved rom and leave it like that you won't get higher mh doesn't matter which bios you put.

Follow the exact steps and download strix bios. The suprim bios is not working on hiveos. Save the original bios so you can reflash it later in case of warranty will be needed.

If the card will be recognised then yes. You also gain back the warranty if you put back the stock bios.

I don't use afterburner only on my gaming PC so don't know why is stuck at 102.

@@freerid3rx I think so too, but saw on the hiveos forum a guy who told that his card just stop work a few days after put the Suprim X bios on his Trio, problably some capacitor snaped or something like that. Now I'm asking to see if anyone else had this problem.
@@Rick15987 you need to monitor because in these hot weather you can burn down the card. My cards are still working without issues. You need to keep them in a cold environment for longer life.
Once i extract the NVFLASH file , inside the folder all i see is NVFLASH64 application it self i dont see any backup.rom or the other 2 files what do i have to do please help
The backup.rom comes when you backup your cards bios.

Hive OS shows wrong power consumption when you use a different brand bios. If it is shown 320W, so the correct is 240W. I could prove it using a smart outlet. Take a look this thread: forum.hiveos.farm/t/msi-3080-gaming-x-pl-locked-at-209w/25624/12

I also faced this problem with my GAMING Z TRIO card.
I solved it by using an older version of NVFlash (5.670.0).
Can i flash while my GPU on a mining riser connected to the pcie? Or need to disconnect other gpu and left only msi trio x 3080 by itself?
You need Windows and the card needs to be directly connected to the motherboard. Shouldn't be a problem if there are other cards connected with riser but it takes 1 second to remove them.

Depends on the card my ones didn't dropped the hash, if is dropping because of the heat because not all cards are the same then yes.

I have a 5600x which doesn’t have integrated graphics. When I disabled the 3080 I couldn’t type anything in that command prompt my keyboard was working but not in the command prompt. What is this weird issue?
Honestly don't know. Try to swap USB, use in different one for keyboard.
@@freerid3rx I shut down the whole command prompt and restarted from scratch. It worked. For my card strix bios was taking 420W just the card lmao. So I switched to SUPRIM bios. On windows SUPRIM bios is much better. Now m getting 93 speed with reasonable temps. I can do 100 tho but 110 degree vram in full power. So settling with 91 92 due to temp issues.

I did it but still with other card I got hashrate issue ... with single card Hasrate is very good ... BUT it appear two cards are some how connected each other ... because even if I disable Link into AfterBurner ... they still got link and I CANT manage separately them ... I assume it is motherboard problem PCI or something

You can't. The bios is limited, you can only if you change the bios like here.

If you can plug both cards in your motherboard and will recognise then yes if your broken card will not be recognised anymore then no.

After flashing the ASUS BIOS, the card is no longer recognized! It worked before with the Suprim BIOS.
Try to reflash with the original or the suprim bios.

Hey I followed step by step and did what you did and I was able to get 99.5 on my pc windows on phoneix but when i put it back to my rig which im running hiveos on im getting 60 mhs which is lower than before. I can see its allowing it to take 240w and 2200 memory but I canged different miners but still getting 60 and below
You need to change the wattage to 320w. 240w is not enough. You T-Rex miner for nvidia.

@@freerid3rx you know what I think that might be the problem. I have a 1000 Corsair and 1200 asus and running 8 gpu. 4 3070 4 3080 and idk how to plug that around and make it work like 3 3080 1 3070 on the 1200w and the rest on the 1000w. I just don’t want to buy another 1200w 😭
@@officialmula9427 the 2 Msi trio eat around 650w the other 2 3080 around 500w. So the 2 Msi trio can go to the 1200w plus 2 3070 which consume around 260w and the motherboard with ssd. The other 2 3080 and 2 3070 can go with the 1000w. I always use 2000w for 6 3080 and is enough with 230w per card.

It didn't help me. Installed BIOS from ASUS . I set fen 80 -300 2600 320 . The hashrate dropped from 83 to 60 then rose to 75
Don't forget the VRAM gets hot if the card is not well made and also u need to put the fan to 100.
hmm before & after i still get about 95mhs wondering whats going on
95 is good anyway. Afterburner settings correct? Also check u are not thermal throttling. Sometimes after few months mining on the 3080s the thermal pads and grease turn to oily mush and lead to thermal throttling even though the temperature can be low.

2nd I used this ASUS Strix which it worked, but I couldn't control the rgb ( I wanted them off..)
So I tried suprim x bios as well.. this one from techpowerup: 94.02.42.00.F9
RGB is turned off when you choose steady: 0 0 0 // at dragon center.
NiceHash QuickMiner settings: Max Core: 1115 (you can 1175 as well..), Mem Clock delta: 1325, Power limit (W): 425 (for 115% power limit.. you can go up to 116% with 427W too..), Unlock max core voltage (mV): 725. @103mh/s and software power consumption 230w.
Warning!!! I have replaced only the memory pads, stock after 1 month of use were oily card will die fast like this!! + I took a bracket off and repaste it as well.. + I added an extra pad between heatpipes and that bracket/plate msi is using.. cause 1 side didn't made any contact with the memory.. After padding with 2mm Gelid Solutions GP-Ultimate and thermal grizzly it's day and night! Target GPU Temp. (℃): 70c and Target VRAM/HotSpot Temp. (℃): 80c // now with 18c ambient temps fan level is at 58%.
Ah for getting a couple mh/s you need to download nvidiaProfileInspector.. then under "5 - Common" Cuda - Force p2 state.. set it to OFF.. apply changes done.

@@3KCA95 with riser not working you need to connect directly to the motherboard and follow the steps exactly like that. Many ppl done it, I've done with 2 cards without any problem. So shouldn't be any problem.

Try Absolute Core 1060, Mem 2400, Fan 70-80, PL 0 Getting 100.2 on my repadded MSI 3080 Trio and throttling on the unpadded one so I set it to Fan 90, Mem 2200 and it's stable at 99.2.

Why would you flash, that card is good, no need to flash it. If u already changed put back the saved rom and leave it like that you won't get higher mh doesn't matter which bios you put.

Works on Hive for me, Repadded memory, Absolute Core 1060, Mem 2400, Fan 70, PL 0...perfect at 100.3. Unpadded- Fan 90, Mem 2200= 99.2.

No point aorus cards have heating problems. Your hashrate is low cause the vram is overheating not bios related.

@@michaelbyf4979 put the core to -100 wattage to 320-330 and you will have 98-100mh. Different bios strix OC needs more power.

The settings is important if you push too much the hash will drop also needs good ventilation.

Follow the exact steps and download strix bios. The suprim bios is not working on hiveos. Save the original bios so you can reflash it later in case of warranty will be needed.
