73 year old Army here. Never loved a group more. They practice vocals on a treadmill. Their control is epic. Besides being great singers and dancers, they are hysterically funny, write many of their own songs, and are generally impressive young men. Their comeback next year will shake the earth. You should watch the introduction to the Bangtan Seven by Mari. Outstanding.
"How have I ever never heard them before". Because western media is a joke when it comes to covering BTS and all their achievements. The most coverage I ever saw about BTS in the US was when they announced they would be pursuing solo music back in 2022 and everyone in the media was saying they broke up and that it was time for another group to take their place. When in reality they were preparing for their mandatory military enlistment and had no plans of breaking up. It's easy for them to be ignored because they aren't from the west. Plus most of their music is in Korean so radio refuses to play their songs unless they are fully English and even that is an uphill climb for them. As big as BTS is I still think they could be even bigger if people didn't pigeonhole them as nothing more than a "kpop boy band" instead of the 7 incredible music artists that they are. They've been doing this for over 11 years now and trust me when they come back next year after they all complete their military service it's going to be huge.
Yeah,, I'm sure they are going to have an incredible show when they come back
I love this comment. All of this is so true.
Western media mat be a joke and they definitely don't give BTS their due, but the fact remains that some of BTS' most iconic moments are from US media.
We have the Fake Love performance from the Billboard Music Awards, the Carpool Karaoke, the James Corden shows (especially the Flinch episode!), the Stephen Colbert Butter performance, the Grammy Butter performance, and we know that Jimmy Fallon has featured both the full band and the solo artists.
The thing about BTS is that it can take time for them to click. I first found them in 2016 and thought they were cute, but I didn't become Army until 2019 when I fell in love with Boy With Love. Especially with the English songs, many people heard them but didn't even realise it was actually BTS.
@@djlivvy46 I love all the moments you talked about. It's true that a lot of good things have happened with BTS in the US so I won't pretend they get 0 support in the US, but I still think it can be improved. Boy With Luv was the first BTS song I heard in 2019 and I've been ARMY ever since. I love when people react to BTS for the first time and many will be like wait I've heard this song before didn't realize it was BTS.
Army has grown exponentially since they had to go into the military. It did give the world some time to catch up. Now, I'm pretty sure that at least half the planet is Army & growing.
“Dionysus” is the concluding song on BTS' album Map of the Soul: Persona. The song celebrates shrugging off artist and media criticism about trivial things over a heavy beat and rap verses.
Dionysus is commonly known as the Greek god of wine & grape harvest, something referenced in Persona’s concept photos.
However, he is also the god of theater, insanity, and holy inspiration, which coincides with BTS' persona concept of character and self discovery. Similar to how BTS were first considered outcasts for being from a small company, Dionysus was considered an outcast for being the only Olympian with a mortal mother. Since he was an outcast, he established a group of followers separate from the Olympians. He’s known for entering a room and making everyone in his presence dance because his music and wine freed his followers from social constraint.💜
(1) Dionysus was the god of fertility and wine, later considered a patron of the arts. He created wine and spread the art of viticulture. He had a dual nature; on one hand, he brought joy and divine ecstasy; or he would bring brutal and blinding rage, thus reflecting the dual nature of wine. (source: Greek Mythology) See version 4 photos.
(2) You will find “born again” and “born twice” throughout the lyrics. Dionysus is born twice: first from his mortal mother’s womb (technically from the charred remains of his mother) and then from Zeus’s thigh. It is said that he is born of fire and nursed by rain (after he’s born from Zeus’s thigh, he was taken to Silenus and the rain nymphs of Mount Nysa). He crosses the boundaries between humans and gods and between life and death, which is consistent with the whole theme of LOVE YOURSELF: (embracing) the coexistence of contrasting forces. (Source: Greek Gods and Goddesses)
(3) Wordplay: 예술 (yesul; art) and 술 (sul; alcohol).
Dionysis English lyrics
[Intro: V, J-Hope]
Drink it up
Shot glasses (sippin’) Link arms (tippin’)
One shot
Thyrsus (grippin’) Grape (eatin’)
Drink it up
Vibes (Keep it) D style (rip it)
One shot
Here (Kill it) let’s steal it
The illest
[Verse 1: RM]
Just get drunk like Dionysus
Drink in one hand, Thyrsus on the other
Art splashing inside this clear crystal cup
Art is alcohol too, if you can drink it, you'll get drunk fool
You dunno you dunno
You dunno what to do with
I'll show you I recommend you something different
From my mic made of ivy and rough wood
There is never a sound that comes out in one breath
[Refrain: Jungkook, J-Hope]
Until the sun comes up, where the party at
Until we fall asleep, where the party at
Sing it, sing it again
Drink it, drink it again
We’re born again
[Pre-Chorus: Jin, J-Hope]
Drink it up (the pain of creation)
One shot (the scolding of this era)
Drink it up (Talking with myself)
One shot (Okay now l’m ready fo the sho)
[Chorus: V, Jimin, J-Hope]
Drink, drink, drink, drink up my glass ay
Everyone all, fall, fall into this crazy artist
One drink (one shot), two drinks (two shots)
Get drunk on art and say onghaeya
[Chorus: Jungkook, J-Hope, Jimin]
Drink, drink, drink, drink up my glass ay
Everyone fall, fall, fall into this crazy artist
One drink (one shot), two drinks (two shots)
Hit the gong and say onghaeya
[Post-Chorus: Suga, V]
Shot glasses (sippin’), linked arms (tippin’)
Thyrsus (grippin’), Grape (eatin’)
Vibes (Keep it) D style (rip it)
Here (Kill it) let’s steal it
The illest
[Verse 2: V, Jungkook]
I'm now in front of the door to the world
The cheers I hear when I get up on stage
Can’t you see my stacked
Broken thyrsus
At last I’m reborn
[Verse 3: J-Hope]
When the night comes
Mumble mumble mumble
When the night comes
Tumble tumble tumble
The bass, bass, bass filling the studio
Bass drum goes like dum dum dum (Yeah)
[Refrain: Jimin, RM]
Until the sun comes up, where the party at
Until we fall asleep, where the party at
Sing it, sing it again
Drink it, drink it again
And we’re born again
[Pre-Chorus: Jin, RM]
Drink it up (the pain of creation)
Have a mouthful (the scolding of this era)
Drink it up (Talking with myself)
One shot (Okay now l’m ready fo the sho)

Everyone fall, fall, fall into this crazy artist

Everyone fall, fall, fall into this crazy artist
One drink (one shot), two drinks (two shots)
Hit the gong and call onghaeya
[Bridge: Suga]
If we pop up
Anywhere in the world, stadium party ay
Born as a K-pop idol
Reborn as an artist
Reborn as an artist, reborn as an artist
What does it matter if I’m an idol or an artist, cheers
Art at this level is over-drinking, over-drinking yeah
The new record is the fight against oneself, a fight yeah
Toast to this, one shot
But I‘m still thirsty
What
[Break: RM]
You ready for this?
Are you ready to get hyped up?
Come on
[Chorus: Jimin, Jungkook, V]
Drink, drink, drink, drink up my glass ay
Everyone fall, fall, fall into this crazy artist
One drink (one shot), two drinks (two shots)
Get drunk on art and say onghaeya
[Chorus: Jin, V]
Drink, drink, drink, drink up my glass ay
Everyone fallin', fallin', fallin' into this crazy artist
One drink (one shot), two drinks (two shots)

HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY.... BORAHAE 💜
Thanks for giving the lyrics (the automated ones are such trash)
You are amazing! I know how much effort this comment took and I appreciate it! Borahae army! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Thank you!! Borahae!!! Aaaaaaaammmmmmeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!
Since you mention Lollapalooza, one of the member was a headliner in Chicago on 2022. It was J Hope. You may check it out.
Thank you i will
@@Amiekinz4ever Hobipalooza is a must watch! He is amazing performer!
@Amiekinz4ever OH I HAVEN'T HEARD THE NAME DEVO IN YEARS 😂😂😂 they were so good.
Devo was such fun! You would really enjoy J-Hope at Lollapalooza - He is an amazing performer.
I was just about to tell her that myself. Hobipalooza is a must.
62 yr old ARMY from UK. I discovered BTS while bedridden end of 2022 & have never looked back. Welcome to the most under rated but astronomically talented group on the planet!!! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
A youtuber called Enjoy BTS More has translated many of their songs into English.
The good one.. 👍
Can’t rely on auto generated captions.
Facts!
I am a 61 year old woman, and I love BTS. They are very talented!!! I love their under dog story. I also love the relationship between them.
Another metalhead here. Fell down the BTS rabbit hole in early 2022 and has made my home here. So much talent! They have opened a whole new world for me. All seven members are absolutely phenomenal!! You have so much to look forward to and I look forward to following you on your journey.
You might want to use Doolset or something to look up lyrics when there are no real closed captions. You can read them ahead of time so you know what the song is about. By the way, one of the members called J-Hope headlined at Lollapolooza in Chicago in 2022. Anyway, he drew the largest crowd they've had with around 100k people. The fan based called it HobiPalooza. :) They each did solo works while they gradually enlisted in mandatory military. J-Hope (aka Hobi) gets out in less than 2 weeks. Jin, the oldest, got out mid-June this year. The rest we are waiting for til 2025, but they've been keeping us busy so there hasn't been a break. :)
Their MVs from BigHit will have translated lyrics if you turn on captions. The live shows are hit and miss with lyrics, they usually don't. The auto generated captions aren't very accurate and usually don't translate. Their lyrics are very complex and have depth, so you don't want to miss them. There are also color coded lyric vids available. I recommend watching a MV first, or a lyric vid if a MV is not available, and then follow with a live version. Their MVs are next level, and their lives do not disappoint.
Welcome down the rabbit hole. We like it here. 💜
Except the oldest videos, you can find the ENG subs versions on the 1theK channel
EnjoyBTSMore will post live performances with English subs but she periodically gets taken down as a result. I think she may be back up again, though. She is able to keep everything up on Patreon, though.
BTS began in 2013, so there is a massive back catalogue of music for you to explore. BTS started as a hiphop group, but now cover many genres of music, including rap, pop, latin pop, edm, hip hop and much more. A lot of their best music is in Korean, so just put your subtitles on as the lyrics are very meaningful. They write, compose and produce their own music and write about social issues like mental health, social anxiety, societal expectations on young people and self love.
The group is made up of 3 rappers and 4 vocalists, all extremely talented and experienced, with rappers starting in the underground scene, dancers in street/contemporary dance, but from early ages. Basically, most of them started in their musical endeavours at young ages, as they are now all late 20s to early 30s. They are all undertaking mandatory military service in South Korea at the moment (apart from Jin, who has just been discharged). They undertook solo projects just before they enlisted, but will be back together as a group mid 2025, when they all have finished military. BTS have always had solo projects as it is just a way to enable the individual members to express their own individuality and style, so when they are a group, they are still bringing this together as a whole.
BTS have global fandom, called Army, with approximately 90 million people of all ages as fans across the world, most definitely not just young girls as is often assumed as the stereotype. Ages range from 20s to 70s for both men and women, because they are not a boy band that is just writing about love. In fact, if they write about love, it is usually multi layered and is not about romantic relationships, but self love etc. Just a small warning, in any fandom of this size, there are a tiny minority of solo stans and antis who can be a bit toxic, but the overall majority are supportive and are attracted to the BTS message of positivity and self love.
They sell out stadiums globally as the biggest group in the world currently (not just the biggest Korean group). If you want to really see how diverse and talented they are, you need to watch/listen to their korean songs. They made 3 english songs during the pandemic to cheer people up, but the korean ones are amazing and I prefer them. They are also known for their dancing, as they have a lot of complex and difficult choreography, which adds to the spectacular MVs and live performances.
Some MV's to start: Black Swan, Mic Drop, Fake Love, Idol, DNA, On Kinetic Manifesto, Dope, Fire, Not Today, Airplane pt 2, Save Me.
Live performances to start: Festa 2021, Tiny Desk, MMA 2019, Proof Live 2022.
Rap line songs to start: Ugh, Outro Series, Cypher series, Born Singer, Baepsae (Silver Spoon). Vocal Line songs: House of Cards, The Truth Untold.
There are also a lot of videos of their dance practices if you like the choreography. Just look up Bangtan TV you tube site and there is a playlist.
To learn more about their backgrounds and a bit of their personalities and of course their names, it is really worth watching an introduction video. The Bangtan 7 by Taylor Mairi has the best summary and snapshot into them as a group and individuals, in my opinion.
The members are:
RM (Kim Namjoon) - rap
Suga or Agust D (Min Yoongi) - rap
J Hope (Jung Hoseok) - rap and vocals
Jungkook (Jeon Jungkook) - vocals
Jimin (Park Jimin) - vocals
Jin (Kim Seokjin) - vocals
V - (Kim Taehyung) - vocals
All 7 members have recent solo projects as well as their older ones, which they undertook before entering the military, and which have been released either just before or throughout the period they are serving.
So there is a lot of content, both recent and a back catalogue of about 500 songs.
BTS members would practice singing while running on a treadmill to help their live performances. They are incredibly talented and the hardest workers I know. 💜
And also the oxygen limiting masks that Suga mentioned
I have been a fan of BTS since 2013. They are the most popular singing group in the world right now, they do world wide stadium tours. J Hope did Lallapalooza and had the largest audience in the history of the event with over 101,000 tickets sold. It was unreal to watch. They won Artist of the Year at the AMA's along side 4 years of Fan Choice awards. They are also 5 time nominated Grammy singers.
Also this song is about drinking, parties and getting drunk LOL
I am 54 in Seattle. Glad you are doing BTS (!). Try Black Swan, Ddaeng, Ugh!, Agust D/Suga Daechwita. Also A Guide to BTS Members: The Bangtan 7.
they are known for their lyrics. Chris martin said of them their bodies are their instruments
If you think this is good you must see their MAMA 2019 performance
Pink haired JIMIN jimin 🔥🔥
I love it
I don't know if anyone else in the comments has recommended watching BTS' performance at MMA 2019, which MMA is an award show in S.Korea, not the "other" MMA you might be thinking about. Someone else might need to link you to the right video though. There, they also performed Dionysus, apart from their other songs. At most award shows, anywhere in the world, guest musicians only perform about 3-5 minutes, but at MMA 2019, BTS performed for 40 minutes non-stop. It was as if it was a BTS mini-concert because of the length of their live stage performance, but they were just a guest band at an award show.
Also, I hope people will also recommend you BTS video documentaries & essays. My favorite one is "The Most Beautiful Life Goes On: A Story of BTS (2023 Update!)" by Rice Squad channel. However, it is now 2 years since this last update so it is getting obsolete by the minute, but it is still relevant to watch. Other good documentaries can be found at xCeleste & Taylor Mari channels etc.
If you want to see other metalhead BTS youtube reactors, a very good one is the John Reaves Live channel.
I hope you are not inundated by all the info that BTS fans are giving you though, so take your time & have fun.

I'm here , thanks for your love and respect to Our boys, Borahae 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
💜💜💜💜
So fun to watch this with you! Thanks for your enthusiasm. This was done for an awards show which is why there are not good sub titles. What you said about them each having their parts, etc. This is the essence of BTS. No ego's, no one thinking they are better than the other. These are 7 young men who have been together for over 11 years now, they've gone through it all. But remain humble, kind and grateful for all they have. They love each other like family and truly love performing together. Please enjoy the ride💜
That's so kewl

Welcome to the never ending rabbit hole that is BTS! I’ve been Army (the fandom name) for just over 3 years and I’m still finding new material! They are, quite simply, absolutely amazing! So talented, their music covers many genres, and one of the very few groups that sound even better live!! There is a very good guide to BTS by Taylor Mari (accurate up to May 2022) which you may want to watch to find out a bit more about all the members. I’m older Army, and was into many groups in my teens and younger years, but BTS is on another level. I hope you continue your journey, and will enjoy sharing it with you 💜💜
WELL that didn’t take long! You have been struck by the “Jimin Effect” Congratulations! 💜
Ha ha true
The way she went back to watch the hip action again! 😂😂
They started as a hip hop group and have maintained that essence throughout. Two of the rappers were in the underground rap scene before joining BigHit and BTS. You should definitely check out a video that has the lyrics.... BTS lyrics are always amazing and multi-layered.
"This sounds like old school hiphop but I can't place it" was what happened to me and now its years later and im still hooked like dope
I can see why

Hi ! Nope , those captions were not right. Regardless, I’m happy you are appreciating BTS. I suggest mv’s first ( at least 2-3 more ) prior to live performances, so you can follow with proper lyrics. Then, the Purple Snow guide to BTS , so you’ll see what and who BTS are. It’s a long one, but ARMY will watch with you.
Thank you soooo much
BTS started out as a hip-hop group, very old school, because that’s what the rappers grew up with. There are 3 rappers. And then there are 4 vocalists (so there’s the high-pitched melodics). You might like to react to Boracity Magazine’s BTS Are Rockstars! Very respected channel explaining why metalheads are drawn to BTS.
the best performance of this is at the 2019 mama award show. there are plenty with eng subs. look for those next time. also, this is the worst one I've seen of this song. wow, it's bad. They work their cardio like beasts. Also, big props to the back-up dancers. moving props, dancing, keeping the guys safe.
They are truley brothers. They all have had solo projects this past 2 yrs. and they all actively support each other! Korean males have to go into Military for 2 yrs. the guys had 18 months for a few reason, Jin is out. J Hoppe will be out later this month, and the others will all be out June of 2025.
Warning, tickets to their first tour will be a Hunger Games situation.
Yes!
@@aliciaenriquezk - You may want to check more of BTS discography before delving further into their MMA shows. The epitome of their live performances is MMA 2019. This was a sight to behold. Please note that MAMA and MMA shows are 2 different shows.
MMA 2019 is the best of the best which is about 37 minutes long. But before that, you may listen to more of their music. When you're ready, please watch MMA 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020. Then of course, there is the MAMA shows too that you need to watch and experience. The BTS rabbit hole is deep and hope you enjoy your journey. thanks.
There’s quite a few reaction channels that list metal or rock or hip hop as their favorite kinds of music, but once they started down the rabbit hole of BTS, any preconceived notions about this “little boy band” from Korea makes a complete 180° turn in their thinking. People who don’t like rap, love the rap line. The relationship between the members and also with Army, is really what drew me in first and then once the music started playing, especially seeing live performances, that sealed the deal. I may never be able to go to a concert and I might not have any merch, but I am just glad I stumbled upon these wonderful young men. I’d heard of them before but it wasn’t until last November 2023 that I started my BTS journey. 💜💜💜💜💜
Same one of my best friends loved them since 2013. She usef to mention them all the time and I never really gave them a chance but i watched something about Suga in October of 2023 and I have been hooked since. I wish I listened to her sooner.. hope I get to see them in 2025.
The Dionysus performance is epic. It's so fun to watch music lovers get sucked into BTS because it reminds me of how I ended up going down the rabbit hole. BTS gets pigeonholed as a K-pop or a boy band so they are easy to miss or even avoid. But their music is diverse and their fan base has grown and expanded exponentially over the last few years so they're showing up in recommendation algorithms more. They can all take the center because they're all great artists and performers. They're also really good human beings. Enjoy the euphoria of finding BTS!
From one metalhead to the other, I can say that since you appreciate live music you are absolutely gonna love them if you watch their lives esp during the tours. Their energy is insane and ripping that stage apart for 2 :30h straight. They also use a live band every chance they get and one of the few artists that are still singing and preforming live, esp in kpop where lip-syncing is normalized.
BTs are amazing artists and even more amazing human beings that started from nothing and worked their a** off to get where they are. I hope you will continue to react to them and enjoy them as much as we do.
Oh I plan on going down this bunny trail
I love the shout outs for Devo and the Ramones. We're talking my generation as a 60+ ARMY. 💜

They also performed Dionysius at 2019 MAMA awards on a bigger grander scale with solo dance performances leading up to the finale, you may want to check it out. 💜
thank you for checking out BTS. as you now know, auto generated English captions are not right. if you check out their MVs (w english captions), pls ff it up with a live version. you'll appreciate it more! BTS live is always amazing!
Thanks for reacting!!
Sorry for this long comment. Lol
BTS are seven very different artists in a group, their discography is huge and it is practically based on the different chapters of life and our development as humans, a lot of psychology, a lot of criticism etc..
They actually talk about a lot of important topics such as; mental health, bullying, regret, follow your dreams, self love, etc. Also almost all songs that sound like they are singing about a lover is them singing to their fans called ARMY (acronym for ADORABLE REPRESENTATIVE M. C FOR YOUTH)
They are very hardworking, funny, and humble group of men.
Also their lyrics are amazing and have deep meaning behind !! ( for many songs we have to watch explanation videos for better understanding and for catching korean references)..
They compose, produce, and/or write their own music. They do bring in other producers every once in a while but they are always involved with everything they put out.
Each member also worked on individual projects along with their group projects..
Right now they are on pause (because in korea it's mandatory to serve in military for 18 months.. So they enlisted together, separated by a month or two so that they could come out together and can continue...
One member completed and returned, six are yet to come.. ) but each member released an solo album before his enlistment . This is also to showcased their individual sound..
They pre recorded so much content just like this song to ensure there's continuous release of contents throughout their absence. Yes, they love to spoil their fans..
If you want to get to know the group and what they stand for please react to:
-Who is BTS Introduction to BTS by xceleste
If you want to get to know each member and their roles in the group:
-An introduction to the 7 members of BTS by Taylor Mari (Its not up to date, a lot happened from 2021.. but still it is good for overall outlook on members..)
If you want to get a really good documentary about how they got together and a summary of their career I recommend:

They are very versatile group of young men and do A Lot of different genres. They originally started off as a hip pop group but have group to do all sort of genres.

The way get the voice control is by running on a treadmill and singing. 😊
It's still difficult to master
And also by using breath deprivation Masks like athletes. They were talking about this during one episode of Suchwita. Suchwita is a TH-cam format created by Suga, one of the rappers, willing to introduce the members'solo works while chatting, eating and drinking. In the end, Suga hosted also other singers, actors and other personalities. Hopefully we'll have a season 2 when he'll be discharged next year
@@Amiekinz4ever oh of course. But they wanted to be like Shinee an older group who are now their friends in a way. Shinee are known for their vocals. They sang live all the time and still do. So BTS followed in their footprints. Now many in Kpop sadly don't sing live because it's really hard. And they are only a handful of groups BTS included who keep that spirit aflame.
I think you'll love Black Swan, On, Dope, Fire.... uuuuuuu they have soooo many masterpieces!!
Rapline Songs by the 3 Rappers : RM, Suga and Jhope

Welcome to rabbit hole. As noted their discography is large snd a variety of music styles. Take at your own pace as it could get overwhelming for reactions. These guys are so impressive as a group and in their solo work. Have had the pleasure to see group perform in Vegas and Suga/Agustd solo D-day concert..both amazing. Enjoy your journey.
Thank you
Yes they sing live with backing track while dancing vigorously. Their live performances are so elaborate and well planned and executed that there is a saying that no one wants to go on after BTS performs.
I'm not a metal fan, but if you're going to go down the BTS rabbit hole, I'm here for you! ARMY loves to experience new fan reactions.
..Some important facts that I wrote down some time ago and I thought you could/should read it too
I think you’ll like their song Fire and Spine Breaker
Hey! 59, Portland Oregon! I love this groups catalogue, so much variety. When you search a song put English Sub at the end. Sometimes the auto one just says nonsense. The official MVs on BangtanTv have good subs and as long as you show the brand at the beginning, no copyright issues. For live, if you search Bts Stage Mix Live Eng sub you can find live edits, that avoid copyright issues. I like them, they are combined performances. Ty so much!
Here are 5 BTS live performances packed with energy that will leave any viewer hyped up and amazed by their stage presence:
1. "MIC Drop" (2017 MMA Performance)
This performance is iconic for its explosive choreography and sharp, synchronized moves. The crowd interaction and intense beat drops add to the electric atmosphere, making this one of BTS's most powerful performances.
Watch for: The cool breakdown and epic transitions between members’ rap and dance sections.
2. "Dionysus"(has an insane dance break in it that you havent seen yet) (2019 MMA Performance)
"Dionysus" is a rock-infused track that takes the energy to the next level with its dynamic choreography. The performance has an almost theatrical vibe with its Greek god-like concept, aggressive beats, and powerful vocals.
Watch for: The members' intense stage presence and the dramatic props like the table choreography, which adds to the overall power.
3. "Idol" (Love Yourself Seoul Concert)
"Idol" is a high-energy track that celebrates self-love and individuality. During their concerts, BTS brings this energy to life with colorful visuals, non-stop dancing, and an electrifying performance. The mix of traditional Korean beats with modern sound adds an extra layer of excitement.
Watch for: The audience participation and the fusion of traditional Korean dance moves with modern choreography.
4. "Not Today" (Wings Tour Finale)
"Not Today" is a defiant, powerful anthem, and BTS’s live performances of this song are always packed with adrenaline. The synchronized choreography, the bold lyrics, and the determination in their delivery make this an intense experience.
Watch for: The choreography that gets the whole crowd jumping, especially during the explosive "Not Today" chant.
5. "ON" (Grand Central Terminal Performance on The Tonight Show)
Performing in the historic Grand Central Terminal, BTS turned this unique location into a high-energy concert stage. "ON" features intense choreography, strong vocals, and a military-like energy. The grand setting only amplifies the power of the song.
Watch for: The impressive, army-like choreography and the setting which adds to the epic feeling of the performance.
These live performances showcase BTS's exceptional energy, choreography, and stage presence, making them must-watches for anyone who loves high-energy concerts! 💜💜(watch their MVs first to read the lyrics as well)
Hi, there, and thanks for your first 2 reactions. If it is about our guys I'm all in following you down the BTS rabbit hole.
I'm a 55yr old Army from Namibia 🇳🇦. I love all seven of the guys. It was 2020 with the release of Dynamite that got me hook line and sinker.
I look forward to all your BTS reactions as well as their individual projects.
BORAHAE 💜 ALL THE WAY FROM NAMIBIA
Live clips don't always have captions. If it says "auto generated" when you turn them on, don't bother. That's just TH-cam's auto-translate guessing, not actual translations. A good resource for accurately captioned live clips is "Enjoy BTS More", a channel devoted to adding captions to live clips. Hope this helps!
Thanks so much for reacting to one of their live performance. I knew you would love it. When I suggested doing live performances on your first reaction I forgot to mention that there is a TH-cam channel called Enjoy BTS More. The content creator is a retired transcriber from one of the Nordic countries ( I can’t remember which) and she fell in love with BTS and decided for the benefit and enjoyment for international armies to translate the words from Korean to English their live performances. She stayed as true as she could for the most correct words. This performance for Dionysius is great, however, believe it or not there is one better and that is their performance of this song at the 2019 MMA (Melon Music Awards). That one will blow your mind. At the MMA BTS were given about 40 minutes to perform. Yes, it’s an award show! Unlike the western award shows the Asian award shows are like a 3-4 hour concerts inviting tens of thousands of fans to come and enjoy the performances. At this particular award show along with 2019 MAMA award show BTS swept all the grand prizes which was never done in K-pop history. They again swept in 2020, 2021 and I believe in 2022. 2022 was the year they took a break from group activities getting ready for the mandatory military service as well as solo projects prior to the military service. They will be back as a group in June, 2025 and will start a world tour that is expected to have 5 million concert attendance. Tickets will be impossible to get as they have already shown to the world their tickets sell out within minutes and doesn’t even get to general population. Again I enjoyed your enthusiasm for BTS.
You must see their MAMA 2019 performance. Or their music "Fire" "On" "Idol" " Black swan" "Not Today" and lots more.
You can search for the live songs with the subtitles - a lot of those will mention subtitles in the title of the video. If you want to know the lyrics, some reactors watch the live and then watch a lyric video.
Oh man, youre going to have so much fun with their discography. And I smell a potential rapline bias...youre awesome, I like your energy
Loving your Reactions!! It’s always fun for Army to watch New Reactors Reacting to the Boys!! I see your excitement and it’s contagious!! This is one of my favorites by The Boys💜 Fun Fact : Purple Hearts means Welcome to the BTS Army💜
Thank you 💜💜💜
@@Amiekinz4ever You are Welcome
I think you would love the sound of Ma City and of Come back Home, neither have MVs but I think it’s a lot more your style hehehe
But all of BTS’ music is great so, you can’t really go wrong with
I highly recommend Tiny Desk for BTS' live performance. The voice and charm of the willow star stand out more.
Dionysus was written by one of the members Jeon Hoseok ( J Hope), Dionysus ( God of Wine) There live shows are the best at showing their vocals and dancing. Check out Tiny Desk concerts, Butter, On Manifesto, DNA, My Univers w/ Coldplay. Then there are the solo albums by each of the 7. Down the rabbit hole you will go.......
Tiny Desk rocks.
LOVE your reaction. So glad you went straight to a live performance after Dynamite. These guys are unmatched live. Just insanely good. And as you say, their vocal control while moving constantly is extraordinary.
What I found so deeply satisfying when I first began delving into them is that all this energy and talent is applied to music with real meaning, and with the heart at the center of what they do. These guys are such beautiful souls, who care deeply. They came from a tiny company with very few resources, debuted in 2013, and built from scratch. Their bond with fans was cast even before they debuted, and it is ironclad. And they write great music. As you said, “So many melodies!” Out of all the songs I have heard from their massive catalog, there are only two songs that I do not like. And I can name 30 that I love with every cell in my body. btw I am 60 years old, so I have seen and loved many musical artists in my life. I am a huge Echo & The Bunnyman fan and Gary Numan fan. I like dark stuff. But to me, BTS are in a class by themselves. They are number one for a reason. Enjoy this journey!
Thanks for a great reaction and for respecting the artistry of BTS. You are going to find yourself going down a very deep rabbit hole and not just because of their catelogue of music but because of the deep messages in all of their lyrics...the only ones that didn't have deep messages were their 3 all english songs during the Pandemic....Doolset is one of the best channels to use as reference for lyrics and meanings of Korean references. Purple Snow's documentary is the most up to date on their history just before they all went into the military....it is long but well worth it. Good luck on your journey....I look forward to watching more of your travels into the world of BTS. BTW I am an 80 year old who found them during the pandemic and I haven't looked back since....I love all of their music, expecially their rap because it carries so much meaning about life. Borahae.
Thank you for this
I didn't know this band existed either amie lol. And everyone like subscribe hit the subscribe button to get amie that's on the road to 10 soon . Wintersun Alex ❄️❤️
Wintersun???!!!! Time 2 is sharing my album of the year along with RM's solo Righ place wrong person
I like your enthusiasm and joy watching this video. Sorry that the auto-generated lyrics are trash. You talking about Devo and the visuals reminds me of my introduction to BTS. I was looking on TH-cam for music that was trending. BTS had released their MV for "ON". I was blown away with the five minute movie. I missed the music videos of the 1980s (Devo's included). I missed the visual story-telling and experimentation. After watching the "ON" MV, I wondered if this was just a one off project or did they have others. My giddy little heart was so happy that there were lots more, and in different styles and genres.
Just a heads-up. TV shows (US, Korea, and Japan) like this one are usually blocked. Reactors will usually distort the picture in some way.
Gracias por los comentarios 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜saludos desde Argentina 🇦🇷
Hi from the UK! Great reaction. Stick with BTS, you are in for an amazing ride and they will never let you down.💜
Thank you so much!!
I'm 60 from Texas. Enjoy your journey. The guys are so much fun to watch and I love their music. They are so funny too. I have to get my fix every day, or I'll have withdrawals. No kidding!
They were heavily influenced by 90's rappers. They have a song (Hip Hop Phile - th-cam.com/video/a_3KCRAYAFQ/w-d-xo.html ) dedicated to basically giving flowers to those that inspired them hip hop wise. RM, Suga, & J Hope are the rappers of the group. They started out as hip hop idols. I'm so glad I stumbled across your reaction to our boys. The rabbit hole is deep and full of ups and downs, but it's the best rabbit hole to fall into. You've got a new sub from me. Loved your reaction to them. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Side note... You are giving serious Lita Ford vibes.
😅
To have a look at their personalities, I recommend Carpool Karaoke with James Corden. It's how I got into them because they were so cute on the episode. You wouldn't be able to post it due to copyright but for your own enjoyment, it's really good. 💜
BTS are always better live and they're meant to be on stage - the energy, charisma and the incredible bond between them and ARMY (fandom name) can't be easily put into words. I wanted to point out that videos from Mnet's channel can be iffy and you might need to edit it to keep it up.
Edit: Any CCs that say "auto generated" are totally wrong and shouldn't be considered by any means correct or reflect the actual lyrics.
Since you liked this, you might like Mamamoo too. They are another Kpop band
Hi, ARMY here. I went back and watched your reaction to Dynamite after I watched this one. I think next you should watch their Tiny Desk Concert during Covid, which is when I found them. It is live, has subtitles, and you will be able to sense their personalities, which is why we love them, after we fall in love with their dance and music. They sing 3 songs: Dynamite, Save Me, and Spring Day. It is a really good introduction.
You are so fun, I am having fun rewatching my favorites with you.
Awwwww thank you
Подписалась. Очень хочется увидеть ваши реакции на любимую группу. Тем более, вы знакомитесь с ними впервые.
Our Boys! Welcome to the rabbit hole 💜
Thank you!!!
@@Amiekinz4ever maybe give: mic drop, fake love, idol, black swan, Fire, airplane part 2 a go - the boys are diverse
That's the plan!
I saw literally 2 seconds of you during the intro and knew I had to sub. Your personality is already pulling me in. Welcome to the family 🥹💜
Tu dois absolument voir la performance live d’attack on Bangtan au Japon elle est incroyable niveau énergie , on en parle peu pourtant elle est tellement bien

I bet it was
Watch the Guide to BTS members: the Bangtan 7. A documentary made by a fan Taylor so you can recognize them in the songs and maybe react to the solo works.
💜💜💜🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽💜💜💜
This is more like it.
Captions are on the MVs. With the live performances sometimes fans have translations. Lyrics are REALLY important with BTS, you can't miss that.
“ how have I never heard of them” that’s the same thing I was thinking a year ago 😂
It's Crazy!
Not today is also really great live…at the BTS shows I’ve been to they opened the show with Dionysus/not today…they are both really high energy, high choreo songs. Once you see a live from an actual concert (which this wasn’t) you’ll get to hear ARMY as well. It’s really amazing 💜welcome to the rabbit hole
I'm glad the captions weren't in English lol. I don't like it when people pay attention to lyrics during a live performance, or even a first watch of the MV. Maybe in the future you can skim the translated lyrics beforehand to get idea of what the song is about (then play the MV with the lyrics on just so you can glance at them).
Don't worry!! I myself discovered BTS at 64!! and I became ARMY!! BTS performances are HUGE live!! The rabbit hole is really deep!! Hello from France!! And have a good trip!! Dionysus at MMA 2019 is a killer!! But you should delve deeper into BTS before watching this.... "Introduction to BTS" by Taylor Mari is the "bible" of ARMY!!
I haven't subbed to a new reaction channel in a long time, but I love your energy. I got into kpop in early 2019, and haven't looked back since. BTS is an absolute legend in the industry, standing completely apart from the rest. Don't get me wrong, I have a few groups that I follow, but BTS has something special. There's a lot of songs I wish I could hear for the first time again, so I'll enjoy your journey.
Awwwww, thank you for the sub and I'm excited to be in this journey with ya'll.
Jungkook when he started with BTS would run on treadmills and sing. They noticed that even when he goes hard that his voice is very stable. Then other members worked singing and using the treadmill. I have heard that now other groups are now using treadmills too. I believe that BTS are the only group, still to this point can go full throttle. They can sing and dance at the same time. Other groups are working to be able to do both. Also, BTS members, play other instruments too. Guitar, piano, drums, saxophone.
do more BTS and you will reach your goal for sure💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
💜💜💜
if u wanna hear metal in kpop, you HAVE to check out iNSTEAD! by xdinary heroes!!
Keep reacting to BTS, Armies will help you to get 10.000💜 And it's fun they are good.
Welcome to the BTS rabbit hole. They are the most awarded artist in history 1400+. Including American Music Awards, Billboard awards and Scammy Nominations. They are also up for several Scammy categories this year. They hold 32 (i believe) Guinness World Records. They sing, dance, rap. They write and produce 90% of their songs. They always sing live no lip syncing!!!! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜.
They have so much talent
There are 3 rappers and 4 vocalist they all participate they debuted in 2013 their fans are called Army they are from South Korea there stage names are from oldest to youngest Jin Suga Jhope RM Jimim V and Jungkook
They had to change the choreography that appears at about 8:00 in your video where they drop forward into a plank position because one of the members -- I think Jungkook? hit his chin against the floor and injured himself. So they changed it to dropping to a knee instead to avoid any more face plants. This is one of the few (and possibly the only?) performance with that original move.
