We start the day on a large field of 40 hectare /100 acre on which onions have been grown this year this needs to be prepared for next seasons crop (potato or sugar beet). In the afternoon we move to another field where the last sugar beets are harvested. After harvesting this field also needs to ploughed before wheat can be drilled.

One thing that I noticed is they are plowing right behind the sugarbeet harvester. All of the green foliage from the sugarbeets is being turned under and will compost underground. Contrary to some popular opinions, this is a very good way to build up the organic matter level in the dirt.

Watching videos like this relaxes me. I havent done a farm's work in my whole life. But i could just imagine myself doing that monotonous work over and over and over and over... and i think i'll never tire and give up on it.

Awesome video, very well done! Nice seeing plowing as no farmers here in Manitoba, Canada plow anymore. We used to grow sugar beets but it ended in the mid 90s, it all went south across the border into the USA.
c9j9RT Oh yes we grow lots of crops here in Southern Manitoba, wheat, oats, barley, canola, potatoes, onions, hemp, flax, lots of corn... Just not sugar beets anymore. The farmers grow a huge verity of crops here, I know I have missed some crops but that gives you an idea.

Tractor seems bit over the top for the plough? We regularly pull an 11 Furrow knerveland with our 1050 Vario with plenty horse to spare! We cruise along at 9mph and can push her to 12mph?
Chris Davies Depends on your soil condition/what kind of soil you are farming on. On heavy clay soils the 1050 is probably a good choice. Although you are right, a smaller tractor could have probably pulled that plough too, but most certainly not with 1200 rpm, therefore with a worse fuel efficiency.
