What I like about Robocop 2014, is that they kept Alex Murphy's organs, and face, of course. And it also shows that he's an actual cyborg. Unlike Robocop 1987, it felt like they ripped off Alex Murphy's face, downloaded his consiousness, and that's it. No disrespect, the og was amazing.

Seems pretty good for a reboot. But I find the ending of the first one better as to why he could shoot the bad guy.

I gotta admit, the scene where they took him apart was pretty special. Kinda tied into what they didnt show in the original, and was shockingly horrifying to see what little was left of Alex Murphy, and for him to be aware of it was BRUTAL.
Imagine someone saving your life only to realize that you could never taste food again , remember the the feeling of having that 1st cold beer but could never expirience it again , you remember how it was being with your wife but could never touch her again 😔 I understand how Alex felt at the begging of the movie "please just let me die" ⚰️

I've always liked Robocop. Too bad this reboot didn't take up well despite amazing ensemble of casts. Love the newer more agile and slick version of him. Love the bike too. Hopefully there'll be a sequel
the thing with ogRobocop is that Murphy's arc was only a part of the entire movie, the world building was a critique, satire and commentary about big corporations, the media, crime, corruption and justice. nuRobocop is more focused on characters and their motivations, reacting to the world they live in but not really offering an opinion or commentary about it.
It is not a bad thing, but it makes this movie feel more like a super hero movie than the og movie did. It makes you wonder what a sequel could be possibly about seeing the new movie almost covered the first 2 in a single plot
RoboCop 2014 had a great premise but did NOT follow through wit hit. Just as we are, in real life, starting to transition to drone combat and AI. In fact, it was fumbled pretty badly.
RoboCop vs AI will be a good idea for a sequel

As a person who watchet Robocop I see this as an absolute win
I watched the og robocop while robotripping, it was just a coincidence, and the part where they are wheeling him down the hallway on the stretcher gave me the most existential terror I had ever felt. Like how much of your brain makes you, you? How much would have to be removed before you aren't yourself anymore? Or if you took half your brain out and but it in another body would that be you as well? How much of your physical body has to be replaced before you are no longer human?
yeah AI is so much different in how it thinks compared to you or me Tesla has proven this so many times with auto pilot when it ignores things and crashes over the stupidest things like the time of day is wrong or there are no cars in the parking lot reason that you or me would not care about as an empty parking lot means you can pick any parking spot you like

Well I think what makes humans humans is their brain itself.
As an example many movies or games have something that looks like a robot but feels very human to interact with because it's basically the consciousness of a human.
I think a good example of this is the game "Stray" which features a bunch of robots that used to be human. They act very human but look like robots.
So I'd say no matter how much of your physical body would be replaced as long as your consciousness is intact you are human and you are still you.

A heart keeps the body lubed and provides oxygen to the brain. Like a hydraulic system. I'm sure technology could replicate that even further like the movie.
Only organ technically needed to be alive is the brain stem and a few of the other parts of the brain; the rest "you" can technically do without. No heart, no lungs, most of your brain missing etc.

Tru it would make more sense and realistic as we already use robots that are controlled like drones and that wouldn't replace real soldiers or potentially police when all they need is a motion suit that works in real time a sort of vr head set the robot would only need cameras that work in real time there for limiting the danger for soldiers while still having the need for human soldiers as they could control them from an F.O.B forward operating base or an armoured truck for more distance

Honestly if you are building that much of robot you might as well skip the entire hooking up lungs and brain and just make a full robot. Hell they even had to actually replace 90% of his brain with a robot brain just to be able to make the brain be able to use the robot parts and they had to modify the lungs to be able to work with the robot parts and synthetic air liquid mix so in reality even his lungs were over 90% robot parts so at some point just make a synthetic skin and call it human. Hell even his facial skin was no longer human parts nor his eyes nor most of the parts you see because they all had to be replaced to work with robot parts.
