I was able to see them perform a headlining show about 6 months after I "stumbled" upon them. I still didn't know that much about them but I had purchased autographed CDs of their first two albums from their website and listened to them over and over again. However, after seeing them, I became a patron and gained access to their discord. There is so much information there and I encourage you to join. When they are touring, people post live stream links and I can watch them performing live at their concerts! The video and audio streamed by fans using their phones isn't always great, but they are so fun to watch, I don't want to miss a minute! TH-cam reactions are also linked in a thread and I enjoy watching others react to discovering The Warning. Welcome to The Warning Army!

The Warning is a band of 3 sisters. Daniela, Paulina, and Alejandra. They live in Monterrey, Mexico and have been rocking out as a band since 2012 (when they were 12, 10, and 7 years old)! Their parents loved music and they grew up watching and listening to rock concerts. Daniela (Dany) and Paulina (Pau) attended a music initiation class when they were 5 and 3 respectively. Alejandra (Ale’) attended the same class when she was old enough. They loved it. They all started classical piano lessons when they were between 6 and 7 years old. When Dany was 7 their dad bought them the Rock Band video game and they absolutely fell in love with rock music and performing on stage…. even though it was just a game. When Dany was 8 years old her dad asked her if she wanted to learn another instrument, along with piano. She chose the guitar. Pau chose the drums when she was 6, and Ale’ chose the bass at 6 (but was too small to play it until she was 7). Ale’ had been playing bass for about 1 month when they decided to play together and that was when the band was formed. In 2023 they celebrated 10 years as
    The Warning”.
It is important to understand that their parents never pushed them to do this. This project was 100% the girl’s decision. Their parents completely supported them but never pushed them.
In 2014 they made a video to send to their grandparents to show them how they had progressed in their playing. The video was too big to just email so their dad uploaded it onto TH-cam. It was a cover of Metallica’s Enter Sandman and it went viral! To date it has well over 25 million views and was shouted out by Metallica’s Kirk Hammett, as well as many other famous bands. The girls were completely caught off guard by the attention this video got and they had to make a decision- they quit school and started homeschooling in order to devote as much time as possible to their music. They were 100% committed to this project and have never slowed down since (practicing hours every day separately and even more hours together).
In 2015 they released an EP called Escape the Mind. It was a mix of different kinds of songs as they sorted out their musical style.
They released their first album in 2017 called XXI Century Blood (21st Century Blood).
They released their second album in 2018 called Queen of the Murder Scene. It was a concept album telling the story of a young woman’s journey from desire, to love, to infatuation, to obsession, to psychotic, to murder, to remorse, and finally to suicide. It was an amazing album and was up for, and won, many Independent Music awards in 2019.
In 2022 their third album (first since signing to Lava Records) called Error. It is simply amazing!
Dany sings lead on about 75% if the songs. Pau sings lead on about 25% of the songs (either while drumming, or while at the keyboard, or just out front). Ale’ is a little shy about singing lead but steps in and sings lead when needed. All 3 can literally jump in and sing lead on any song if needed (with no drop-off in quality) and their harmonies in songs are simply amazing!
They have opened for several great bands including Alice Cooper, Def Leopard, Stryper, The Foo Fighters, The Pretty Reckless, Halestorm, Three Days Grace, Guns n Roses, and their absolute idols Muse. In 2022 they played 103 concerts in South American and North America. In 2023 they played 75 concerts dates in 13 different countries all over the world.
Here is a video documentary in their own words explaining this journey thus far (made in 2021): th-cam.com/video/s7iQG0ug4HI/w-d-xo.html
Here are some songs showing their progression over the years

I could list off several video performances for you to check out but it is easier to say Just watch this Teatro Metropolitan CDMX concert and you will be amazed. The actual concert starts at around the 2:00 minute mark and it is timestamped so you can see each song title.
Entire 2022 Teatro Metropolitan CDMX Concert: th-cam.com/video/7hbBa1-1p7M/w-d-xo.html
Bonus- In 2021 Metallica asked 53 artists (including The Warning) to take any of the 12 iconic songs from their Black album and do a cover (any way they wanted to) for their Black List album, commemorating the 30th anniversary of the Black album. Alessia Cara (Canadian pop star) was also asked to participate but had no idea what to do. Because she shares the same management group as The Warning, she contacted them for help. It was difficult to do as Alessia was in Canada and The Warning were in Mexico and travel with COVID was not happening. They made it work and developed/recorded this completely re-imagined song in one week. They created the music video with the same logistical restrictions. Because of that you will see that Alessia appears as a projection on the wall in the video as she was not there. It was recorded in an abandoned textile mill outside of Monterrey, Mexico. Here is the official music video and live concert: th-cam.com/video/9tKQgesCcTc/w-d-xo.html and th-cam.com/video/vg9vNE7gm0I/w-d-xo.html

It is large, loyal, and growing. Start from the beginning if you can, that will give you the best understanding of these three beautiful, talented, humble, and down-to-earth young women. Every song they have ever done is a good song. I enjoyed your video of you finding The Warning, we always like seeing reactors discovering them, and being amazed. Where have I been? I said the same thing a couple years ago when I came across the Evolve OMV. Then Choke, Disciple and Dust to Dust. Within 90 minutes I was no longer a surface dweller. Your experience is quite normal for those that randomly find them, like me. You’ll get plenty of info and support today because there’s nothing the fans like better than talking about them. Yes, they are the best role models young people could have. They’ve avoided all the pitfalls that plague other rockstars. I need to leave but I’m guessing that with a couple hours this comment page will be bursting. Cheers.

Definitely check out the new song This Hell You Call A Dream. They released a studio version with lyric video, then a week later released a live version and frankly, the live one is better in many ways. You get to hear how well they play live and how they really know how to work the stage.

It is rare indeed to find THAT BAND. It happened to me with The Warning for sure. It was the performance they gave in 2017 at a TedX talk they gave. Particularly the third song SURVIVE. I knew they were something special.
The Warning have a sound that is both new and familiar. It is certainly hard rock, but clearly influenced by their love of classic rock, metal, punk, K-pop, indie, grunge, funk, and many other genres including classical music. But they have taken those influences and forged a sound that is uniquely their own, and you know that it is them. At the same time simple and complex.
What does it sound like to me? Refreshing. A sound that has caught my ear and made me interested in rock again after 25+ years of the same old playlist. While together their combined ages are about the same as mine, their musical maturity is exceptionally high.
As you found out, there are really no bad choices in their catalog. They are something special live. Their energy, charisma, and musicality really shine when in front of an audience. In the past two years I have flown all over North America and seen them 7 times. Can’t wait for the chance to travel and see them again. The only other band I have traveled like this for in more than 40 years of concert going was Rush.

I hear you brother, also discovered them, was immediately hooked and is my favorite band today. Have not been interested in a band so much in the past 20+ years, they are amazing. I'm also Mexican so it is mind-blowing to me that they are from Mexico and gorgeous human beings inside out. Great ambassadors for the country, as there is a lot of misrepresentation from Mexico and TW represent much more who we are, they are building bridges.

The best "reaction" to The Warning I've seen in a long time.
You're right about what nice people they are. None of the members will ever get drunk and crash a car or be found dead in a hotel room with a needle hanging out of her arm. Why? Because they come from a super strong, very close family. Heck, they often bring their parents along when they tour.
When you see videos of them off stage and together, the amazing thing is how normal they are. They're just three sisters enjoying the life they lead.
The best way to understand them, I think, is not as a band but as a songwriter. The band's main function nowadays is to write songs. Dany will probably never take an extended solo like Eric Clapton and, as good as Pau is, you'll probably never hear her show off her chops with a 10 minute Neil Peart-style solo. They're not that kind of band. They know that the average fan loves their songs and doesn't buy a recording or go to a concert hoping to hear a solo. They just want to hear the song they love.
They are best appreciated live and it's their mission not to do anything in a recording they can't reproduce on stage. The Teatro Metropolitan recordings are so expertly done that they probably exemplify what a concertgoer can expect. Perhaps a better example of what they sound like live is the recent set of recordings from Shiprocked, where they performed for several days on a cruise ship. The recordings are passably good-better than your average fan video and without the admospheric lighting and fake smoke of the Teatro Metropolitan recordings. Their live performances reproduce their recordings about as well as it can be done.
Anyway, welcome to the rabbit hole. The Warning's army will be descending on you.

I haven't been this excited for a band in like 20+ years. I feel like a highschool fangirl anxiously awaiting for their next song or next video and I'm a grown ass man! Before The Warning, the "newest" music that I'd listen to was from the late 90s early 2000's because I couldn't find any new bands that I actually liked. But these girls made me excited for new music again, they're the real deal.

Aloha @Readytechplay - Welcome to the Warning Army. You and bunch of others that post on YT have been living under the same brick/rock! It's delightful to hear people's astonishment and frustration that they don't know about The Warning. And this is not some rabbit hole...no, this a caldera, because these ladies artistry is as wide as it is deep! Allow me to introduce the Villarreal Velez family: Daniela(Dany) 24yrs, guitars, lead vocals; Paulina(Pau) 22yrs, drums, lead vocals, lyricist; Alejandra(Ale) 19yrs, bass and occasional lead vocals. They all sing harmonies and all play piano. Their parents, Monica Velez and Luis Villarreal, neither are musicians, but have completely supported their daughters in their musical career. The sisters were classically trained on piano, but when their parents bought the video game, Rock Band, it inspired these youngsters to play rock n roll. As a family, they would spend time together watching rock concert DVDs. The Enter Sandman video you saw was supposed to be for their grandparents to enjoy, but it went viral, and even caught the attention of Metallica. Their humbleness and groundedness is due to their parents love and devotion.
So you will read many comments below this one that have lots of great suggestions, but I would like to invite you to watch their documentaries on YT: TIDAL Rising - The Warning, and May Day in the Making parts 1-6, which should provide you with more of their musical history and insight into their personalities. Enjoy! Salud! #APDVillaReality

I had the same experience when I first heard of The Warning. Their story from child performers who just played cover songs to main stream rock stars making their own music is incredible. They have with each release they have improved and built on the previous songs. Their sound continues to evolve (also Evolve is my favorite song) As well their live performance is off the charts! Their stage presence and audience engagement in concert is far beyond any other band I've seen live. They love their fans and are always open to them and really show their love for the fans. To them it's about the music that they love making and playing for people and they pour themselves into it. That's what and makes it awesome, as well as their songs kick ass.

The Warning is a once in a generation phenomenon. I flew down from Portland Oregon with my daughter to see them live over 2 months ago in Tijuana where they started with Disciple. Ale’s bass kicked me in the chest and knocked me over, then Pau beat me over the head with her drums and then Dany finished me off by slaying me with her guitar and vocals. Once you go down The Warning rabbit hole there's no way out, like Black Holes (which is one of my favorite songs of theirs).🤘⚡

I've never fallen in love with a band so much as TW, and I'm 70. People thinking Rock has been dead are constantly amazed, as TW's parents obviously had great taste in legacy Rock, and played it all the time for them. There are no shredding soloes played for long to steal TW's spotlight, as they play for each other and for us in such an awesomely balanced way. I sincerely believe they'll be recognized increasingly as movers of Rock history soon, and later, twenty or thirty years from now.
There's so much in the past eleven years or so to choose from, and I've enjoyed going backward and forward in time, watching how they've evolved, and going back to see where they've come from. I.e., you can watch their work in chronological order, or in a more random order, and find that there's just no bad song in any period. (Well, maybe one or two songs suffered the consequences of a really long concert at 7000 feet altitude, or some really tired performers who worked their butts off for an hour longer than they had planned. I challenge you to find those few, imperfect performances!)
The Teatro 2022 concert is unbelievable perfection performance-wise, recording-wise, and audio mix-wise. The two-night concert was recorded over both nights, then splice together. This editing process took months to complete. Note that if you're really paying more attention than 99% of their fans and reactors, you might be able to notice where one night's video recording was spliced with the other night's video recording. E.g. some camera angles would have caught the other camera recording, if they had both been recording on the same night.
My personal favorite, already mentioned above by Tim, is XXI Century Blood, official video:
    th-cam.com/video/syTyga3lVL0/w-d-xo.html
If I had to pick, my second favorite is Enter Sandman live at Teatro.
My third favorite might be Atlas Rise. Although I don't love the song itself, it showcases how amazingly talented and dedicated they are to playing soooo well, even way back on Feb 2019 when they were only 13, 16, and 18:

@readyTechplay Lunario version is Raw (2018), first time they presented QOTMS ALBUM in concert, this is a concept album written by teens, tells a tragic story😥 Dust to Dust is epilog of the album best listened in order so you can follow the story. I also have my name on the “first 1000 Patreons” poster that is pinned up on their practice room wall. For me I found the band in the early pandemic, watching a reaction channel. Yes, their concerts are attended by fans ranging from 7 to 70 year olds. Quite often its a family affair with grandparents introducing the 3rd generation to The Warning. No sex, no drugs, no alcohol, no profanity, no stylized make up & crucially, no display of assets other than their musical ability. The Warning are unlike most female rockers.
Wish in 2019 you had read the bio in the video when you watched them cover Enter Sandman. You would have found out that video was from 2014 and caught them in middle of their creative phase then. In 2018 they released their 2nd LP - Queen of the Murder Scene. A dark concept album talking about unrequited love, self harm & lunacy. So when you stumbled on the girls in 2019, The Warning had already released - 2 original LPs, 1 EP & 1 single - about 35 songs.
BTW it was mentioned in Wiki, in bold letters, about their career with Lava records. In your hurry you probably browsed till their Independent phase just before that.
To complete The Warning experience I'll urge you to read their lyrics. With almost every song delivering insightful messages through metaphorical poetry, The Warning stand out from the crowd in today's music scenario where fans don't prioritize listening to what a band is saying. When you read their songs, I hope you will agree that their success is more due to intellectual beauty than physical one. Fans from all over the world, speaking different native languages, are blown away by the profundity of their thoughts at such a young age.

Pau has 1 tattoo on the back of her neck. Apparently they've discussed with their parents/management about not getting any more. In interviews they say they don't drink, but in some of their aftershow movies, Pau talks about wanting mojitos. Not sure about Dany and Ale.. Dany says she just drinks water. lol I see a lot of people asking if they will get tattoos, but IMO, why would you? Everybody and their mom has tattoos.. They're not the edgy, rebellious cool look any more. It almost seems more rebellious to not have them now. lol

This is amazing. You're like climbing way high up on the diving platform to take the big dive. First off, I'd suggest watching reaction videos to The Warning, and pay attention to who else has reacted to which songs. You'll learn a lot about them by getting to know some of the reactors. If you don't like reaction videos, here is the general protocol (mostly from their official videos):
Watch the entire Theatro Metropolitan concert.
    Watch the entire Lunario concert.
For information about them, google their Vlogs from the last few years. You will learn plenty about them by watching them hang out together or solo.
For documentaries, there are 3 big ones. One is very long, one is broken up into six parts and one is more of a summary video about their career so far. Watch any or all of those.
Watch their performances from various venues, (this is where watching reaction videos is helpful, to learn about and see footage of these shows), particularly:
Whiskey-a-Go-Go, Dakota Bar, and the recent concert from Mexico City.

    Great The Warning video!
The Villarreal-Velez sisters are amazing songwriters and performers from Mexico who live in Monterrey, San Pedro Garza Garcia, Nuevo Leon. Each one of their original songs is great. Their second album, "QUEEN OF THE MURDER SCENE", is a concept album. It follows a girl's journey into unrequited love; from infatuation and obsession on into stalking and murder, then madness and the fight over her soul. It is a masterpiece. It was nominated for Best Rock Album at the 2019 Independent Music Awards.
Their 1st full-length LP, "XXI CENTURY BLOOD", is also very good and is packed with many great songs. The video for the title track, "XXI Century Blood", was nominated for and won many awards.
Their very 1st released recordings are from their 6 song EP, "ESCAPE THE MIND"; and it is amazing.
Despite being courted by numerous offers from many major record labels, The Warning have stayed independent through the years; relying on crowd funding to finance their projects. They refused to give up creative control over their material ... down to even the clothes they wear on stage.
After 7 months of negotiations, The Warning signed a 5 album recording contract with Lava/Republic Records/Universal Music Group in the fall of 2020.
They decided to release 1/2 (6 songs) of their completed 3rd full-length album in an EP called "MAYDAY" October 8th, 2021. The entire album was released June 24th, 2022: called "ERROR". "Disciple" is my favorite track!
They are going to release their 4th studio album "KEEP ME FED" June 28th, 2024 and have released 2 songs "MORE" and "SICK" from the upcoming album.
The Warning do not come from a family of musicians, however, their parents are huge fans of classic rock.
Both parents are professionals (recording engineer and dentist) and they enrolled their daughters into a private Catholic English Bilingual school Liceo de Monterrey, Mexico.
They also started the girls with classical piano lessons at ages 6, 4 and 5 years old.
Regular family functions included gathering around the TV with popcorn and watching LIVE concert dvds of legendary bands like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Queen and AC/DC.
When their parents got them the video game Rock Band at ages 8, 6 and 3, they went nuts playing it obsessively. Shortly thereafter they got real instruments with lessons from professional teachers: and the rest is history. Amazing they are 24, 22 and 19 years old and have already written, arranged, and released #48 original songs (and recently finished recording their 4th studio album).
Drummer Paulina writes around 75% of The Warning's songs. Most of her songs begin in rock ballad form; starting with a concept, then chord progression, melody and basic song structure on the piano. She may only have a verse and a chorus when she brings it before her sisters. Together they transpose each instrument's part and "rockify" the song. They complete any lyrics, bridges and any arranging, etc. making changes along the way. A 2/3 approval vote of each instrument's part and each vocal harmony before it becomes a completed song. Paulina has said if not for her sisters, her songs would be different. Both guitarist Daniela and bassist Alejandra write equally great songs; just not as many.
Drummer Paulina recently won Rock Drummer of the Year in Drumeo's recent poll and won Best Up and Coming Artist in Modern Drummer Magazine's recent reader's poll.
I was fortunate enough to get to meet them after their show January 16th, 2020 at The Whisky a Go-Go in Hollywood, California. I had the opportunity to meet with them 3 more times during the 10 shows I attended on their 2022 North American MAYDAY Tour and 2023 ERROR WORLD TOUR.
Aside from their music, they are just normal, sweet, intelligent, and fun-loving young ladies who are truely grateful and endearing to their fans.
They slap me in the face, punch me in the gut, stomp me to the ground and leave me dumbfounded and speechless every time I see them LIVE.
    👊😊

    * They have a bunch of songs recorded at Teatro Metropolitan CDMX. They are ALL good! Very good.
    * They have a very different (rather new) cover of Enter Sandman. You shall listen both to the official movie and live. Both are epic in their own way. Personally I think you shall listen to the movie first, then you hear the Alessia Cara parts easier in the live one.

Your experience is very similar to mine, back in the 80s I saw Flash Gordon movie and in the credits listen the song "The Hero" and love it, then go to buy anything I can find from Queen and I has the good luck to buy Queen I, the hardest record of them. From there I become a rock fan and start to looking all their records and almost 100% of the songs like it. Never again happens to me the same. I listen bands like U2 and love one record but not all their material, same with Toto, Journey, Led Zepellin, Pink Floyd and many more.
Once a few years ago saw the video and think they are very good for their age and then forget it, same as you. But in 2019 saw a video from them and was love at first time earing, then I look for their records and listen the same day and like it all the songs, of course ones more than others, but in general love it all. From there its been a very pleasant journey discover The Warning, the songs, their history, their social media, and I seeing almost all their material including Pau, the drummer, baking a cake and talking for 1 hour or the girls screaming and laughing playing doing a streaming playing videogames. They are all the package, not only the music but also they hook you up with their wonderfull personalities.
I recomend you see all you can, nothing gonna disapoint you, including their TikTok or Instagram post are worth to watch and you can have a good adiction in a few moments. Are also a lot of reactions and fan material like the Fun Videos The Warning Army Argentina upload of them. Recently came an interview with their manager Rudy Joffroy and he talks a lot of the history of the band and first hand information of what is behind the band.

But who can blame me..? I thought they were just like any other band out there, they all sound pretty much the same, so why bother.
Dec 3/22 Finally getting tired of those TW popping videos I clicked on Evolve...Then Choke...Then Dust to Dust... That was the point of no return, got sucked in like in a black hole. Now I know there's no way back. I love them and they are my favorite band now. Personally I consider myself and enlisted soldier since I mainly follow them, comments on any content related to them. I consider those that use their own channels to "Warn" others (by posting videos, pictures or anything other can follow) to be officers in the army, as such you have joined this army as an officer IMO.
I see that @timnye718 basically wrote and abbreviated wikipedia article. All I'll says is, Welcome to The Warning Army.

Thanks so much. Like you, I feel this urge to share this band with the world. That’s the main reason why I decided to focus this channel solely on The Warning content. When you find something that good, it’s a natural feeling to want to share it with the world.

As much as I like their music I like even more their different content that they produced mostly during the covid scare they are so funny without even trying although you would have to speak Spanish to get the full experience...

Btw, can't miss Queen Of The Murder Scene album. Is a concept album so F twisted who tells the story from a girl whom... I don't want to be a spoiler, check it out. I'm sure that someday it will be on Broadway.
(Don't miss the videos from her explaining every song and their whole live performances at Foro Didi and at Lunario)
Again, QOTMS is a MUST listen to.
