@@SrPa91 ye, i just wanted to say the same. when sumeru was the new region then every1 was talking about how hyperbloom is so overpowered and now every1 forgot it
fpr the papilla why didnt you just use chasca? or burn arlecchino? or AH hyperbloom? or raiden national? you only really need furina and lvl 40 ningguang for phase 1, and a fast attacking dps and a bow user for the 2nd half.
Imo it's not about primos because like you said 150 primos is nothing but always getting 36 stars in the past and not being able to get this one just sucks. Tho this one was still fairly manageable with Arle mono pyro first half and Alhaitham HB second half.
Yeah it took me an hour to beat Papilla. Didn't realize at the time that hyperbloom would have been better to break the sheild. But even so Wolflord and that new Pyro bird enemy that forces Furina. Anyone who decides to skip this time around i fully understand why.
Its not only a dps check or elemental check, its a literal "do you have this specific character check". If not, good luck. Its a hard abys yes, but whats infurating me about it is the restrictiveness of team comps that can clear
what character is required to do this abyss? bs, you don't need any specific character. i cleared it using only pre-sumeru four stars. that's the way i check if an abyss is "too hard". and this isn't. it's just very hard.
@@GraveUypo the only thing worse than this abyss is all the basement dwellers coming out saying ☝️🥸 "yeah well I beat it with level 1 traveller backwards with my eyes closed" like no one cares, the VAST majority of the casual playerbase and even some CCs all agree that it felt shit to play, no one cares if a minority of sweaty players can beat it easily lmao
@@GraveUypoMaybe they're referring to Furina for breaking the flying bird's shield? But that also doesn't make sense since you can make it go lower by breaking the crystals on the ground
@@GraveUypo Beating the bird in a decent time without Furina is a huge pain in the ass. Sure it's a flex if you don't need her but it's still dumb as hell.
Exactly!! And I HATE bosses who just waste our time. Like I wanna fight fight a boss in a cool battle,I did NOT want to be forced waiting for their stupid invulnerable immunity states to end. Cause that's just not fun at all and is hella boring.
"A ham fisted way to shove shields back into the meta." I thought so too so I brought Zhong Li...then saw me get one shot THROUGH my Shield because "oh the Papilla's gimmick deals damage through shields".
tank it with a def or an HP character. my noelle and my xilonen are able to tank both hits of the nuke. def better tho cuz it's easier to heal and tankier than hp. you can also use a burst to bypass the damage entirely, or just kill the shield in time to cancel the nuke.
same, i almost couldn't believe my eyes when i thought that enemy was just doing nothing then suddenly-, my active char inside zhongli's shield died with 1 shot
It feels like they're pushing us into individual floor tactics. Do a run, get your record, reset. Do a bad floor 1 run and do your good run for floor 2. Ugh. Kill me.
I know you're meant to build teams meant for the last chamber first but if you can't get past a certain chamber without characters dying (chamber 2 2nd half) it can be very frustrating to get to the last chamber I already hated floor 11 for its occasional need a cc unit on both sides for chamber 1 which isn't always an issue but it is sometimes fucking monolith challenges.
My biggest pet peeve with abyss is enemies that just decide to go for a walk. You set up rotation, you're trying to maximize time and skills? Enemy just peaces out across the arena. I can almost hear them saying "Haha, wasted 5 of your precious seconds AND your burst."
So real, ESPECIALLY the crocodile and the geo wolf… like… the boss I get it, but the fcking hydro beast? Why do you roll to the other side of the map doing some random break dance or something? Wtf?
@@kinvillaraus2854Personally I've always considered that in my pulls. That's why I go for characters like Nahida,Yae,Furina,Kazuha and Emilie where enemies can't go out of reach. Slow bosses like the big chicken and Mountain King are easy for any character. My only reason to replace Deyha for Mavuika right now is that her skill follows the active character, because enemies constantly step out of Deyha's skill circle. Mavuika is the key to complete my 2 counter proof teams.
I wish they just stay in the place like a damaged sponge so that I could press the buttons in correct order and not worry about actually playing the game
Definitely the worst so far, you need a... DPS check DPS+ELEMENTAL check DPS+ELEMENTAL+REGION check I have four Archons at C2/+ and it was still annoying.
Yeah I had to brute force some sides with C3 to C6 5*, like the Papiliae thing I can't seem to destroy the shield in time and it one shots me. That being said I don't mind since my vertically invested characters actually have some use.
If you wanna go even FURTHER, it's: DPS+ELEMENTAL+REGION+WEAPON(bow) check!! What the fuck the Aeonblight Drake forgot in the Abyss?? He was LITERALLY IN THE PREVIOUS ONE!!
It's technicaaaaal. Look for good TH-camrs that explain the mechanics instead of whining. The purple boss shield requires 72 elemental hits, Natlan character hits are 3x. Just get Burning teams (fire dots are hits) or Fischl or Ororon or Alhaitham or Xingxiu or Kuki or Kinich+Xingling or Chasca. Sooo many characters can spam elemental hits. Kachina lvl40 can break the geo skulls. Whatever archer like Ororon or Fischl that are great on the purple boss work well on the aerodragon. Neuvilette works well on the first half first room. Overall, all the characters of the last 4 banners work very well. And there is Mavuika joining in two weeks.
@@chyepoh8206 make no mistake. I love the game espcially for its music. But i can wholeheart:dly agree with everyone that thwre are things avout the game that makes us shit on it. For example...the current abyss. 🤭😂😁🤣
@@ShanMichaelEscasio ya! Hopefully they will make spiral abyss better since now the game is becoming more generous lately slowly, but it’s most likely it’s wishful thinking.
I can fix this abyss in 1 move. Make it so you get 3 stars at the 6 minute mark instead of 7. That extra minute will make all the BS flying and shield breaking of the wolf lord and the waking animations of the drake less anxiety inducing. The abyss will still be hard but not BS. I counted, the window in which you can damage the wolf lord is only 35 seconds. Otherwise you will only have 40 second on the drake because of the waking animation plus the flying up animation takes nearly 10 seconds.
@@kraylis1 Yes, it is so fun to make a game with 91 playable characters but force your player base to use 5 very specific ones in order to clear the late game. Overly restricting the player is NEVER fun.
This fix is so simple yet so effective at removing the main source of anxiety I always clear the abyss in 3 minutes for 3 stars, but if I couldn't 3 star it, then it's 2 stars, but I never take more than 4 minutes to clear a chamber. That extra 1 minute is a guaranteed 3 star, and allows you to still 3 star if the boss somehow used their time-wasting moves the second time, like Wenut, Wolflord, and Serpent's
Problem isn't omg I can't clear Problem is the enemies don't feel fun to go against I cleared this abyss very easily with Navia Bennett Tartaglia Chiori first half Shenhe Ayaka Yelan Kazuha second half it was a cakewalk, but I hated it because the enemies are frustrating to go against
as a newer player I’ve only just got to floor 12 and couldn’t get beyond chamber 1. I only pull characters I like and I’ve heard a lot of people say you can clear abyss with any characters you like as long as they’re well invested but that doesn’t really seem like the case. I hope it doesn’t get any harder.
You can pretty much clear with any character at end game, but 36 staring not so much. I’m a Razor main and I know I would not be able to 36 star with him.
I think the days of 36 star with literally any character died around version 3.6 because even a C6R5 5 star won’t get through the wrong elemental shield from an Abyss lector. Since version 5.1’s HP buff to the Abyss, you also need at least a functional team designed for the gimmick like the video mentions. You don’t need the exact meta characters just yet, but it’s getting close. For example my off meta team C6 Noelle, C4 Gorou, Albedo, C1 Furina on 4 star weapons straight up doesn’t have the DPS and misses the new 5.1+ HP threshold to have full stars by about 15 seconds. That’s also if I reset enough times to do the rotation with all the buffs up and the enemy eating all the attacks. I’d hit the goal if I got my Gorou to C6, Furina to C3, got a 5 star weapon for Noelle or Furina, or got better artifacts from the ones I already dumped 4 months of resin into. (If someone calls wrong artifacts “skill issue”, then tell them to get into pro gambling because the odds to get artifacts of high enough quality to upgrade anyone on my Noelle team is down to 1 in 128 or worse - and remember a day of resin is around 9 artifacts.)
@@studiesinflux1304 You have always needed functional teams to clear. You could clear with almost everyone but you never were able to just throw in 4 random characters and have it be enough unless you just had powerhouse carry the other 3. And i cleared with sigewinne, chiori, kachina and barbara as my first team (the 5 stars are c0 with no signature) and fischl, bennett, xiangling, chevreuse second side. These arent exactly meta teams. They are strong but cant rerally compete with mualani, neuvillette or arlecchino. xiangling is still fanatstic but her meta as dps days are over
Previous Genshin you could absolutely clear the abyss comfortably with highly invested units who aren't meta but it's no longer the case. Abyss nowadays require you to have all the meta units to clear.
For real... the shields restrict your possible characters so hard. For me, the issue is with Geo bosses. My only geo unit is Noelle, and she's only level 20. I know Overloaded is a good alternative, but it doesn't shred the shields fast enough. The game would be so much better if the bosses had either low health and strong shields or lots of health and no shield and not both, because imagine the pain of shredding the shield of a geo boss with Overloaded reactions only for it to be up again in like 20 seconds and you only did 1/4 of the boss' health bar
I hate the fact that abyss nowdays is character check. On top floor u must take hydro and geo to do it comfortably, so u either play navia with hydro sups or neuvilette, wow how fresh. I mean i get that, elements exist but its just a chore when u have element immune enemy that flies
the flying enemy gimmick is absolutely stupid because we have no control over how our characters attack. if we could aim upwards that would be okay, but no, the character stays there like an idiot swinging at nothing when leaning a bit upwards would allow them to reach the enemy. that's what gets me.
Me who has literally zero geo outside of GMC, who was on the other side as DMC 💀 (highest level geo is my Level 20 Noelle) Safe to say, I did not complete this Abyss!

I think we all agree that this level of annoyance and anxiety will instantly VANISH if one of the following is changed 1. Remaining time longer than 420 seconds is changed to 300 seconds, same time limit as floor 9, 10, 11 2. Primogems earning is changed from gaining a star, to earning them through clearing the abyss itself, like the artifact reliquaries you earned from clearing the abyss, so I don't have to get insane to earn that mere 50 primos 3. Floor 13 which doesn't reward you primogems, but bragging rights Imaginarium theater got this right, earning a stella there doesn't award you primogems, but you get to show them off through your character profile There's one event, it probably had rerun twice. That even was about boss fight event, in that event, you are given options on the boss' difficulty, the hardest option is tougher than the abyss version, it can oneshot you due to insane ATK increase. But IT. DOESN'T. HAVE. THE. TIME. LIMIT!. Well... it does have a time limit, that was one of the difficulty options, I disabled time limit because I hate it, then the boss fight experience felt like dark souls, it was challenging, and fun. I can actually just FOCUS ON DODGING and only attack when I see a clear opening instead of DESPERATELY ATTACKING BLINDLY out of desperation. Yes it took so long to mow it down, it's harder than the abyss ones, it can one-shot you, yes... but I can fight the boss on my own pace That is what the abyss should've been, THE TIME LIMIT is the biggest issue to the abyss in terms of the fun factor, especially primogems are at stake
For people strugling with Papilla's shield: - If you have Ororon, just apply hydro and burst, her shield will be down in no time. - Burning teams are amazing. If you have Thoma it's his time to shine since he is both a shielder and a pyro app. Of course Nahida and Emilie are incredible for this role. (I have broken this shield with only Thoma's Burst followed by Nahida Normal Attack Spam) - Overload teams can also break it fast. - Fischl at C6 is pretty good too and she can also be used to down the Dumbass Drake - Yelan + Xingqiu can also down her shield. You'll need both bursts tho. - Bennet C6 combined with any fast normal attacker (Xiangling) can also help - Hyperbloom for obvious reasons If you are not really being able to break her shield, you can always flee to the other side of the arena so it doesnt hit you. Bring units with shred (Kazuha/Xilonen etc) so you can at least reduce a little her insane resistance when you don't break her shield. I have seen footage of a decently built C3R1 Neuvillette hit for only 10k lol. You can also Iframe it using your burst at the right time and even overheal the damage (I did it with Kokomi Skill + Burst). My first clear was using an "Arle random bullshit go" with Arle/Nahida/Fischl and Bennet. Had to dodge a lot tho. Anyway, infuriating abyss I only did it because I'm a stubborn fuck and it took me way too many resets but now I can clear it more consistently.
Clorinde is also very good to take the shield down with how fast she attacks. I've tried her with overload, hyperbloom and hyperburgeon, shield gets cooked.
Yeah there are multiple ways to deal with these challenges. And as she repeated many times that the challenge is the point of the abyss. Then I have no idea why she wants this boss to be removed from abyss when its one of the most fun ones.
@@xenefoster-if9wz it's how some people are. They want gimmicks to make bosses more difficult but complain if you have to go about something in a specific way. I'm surprised people aren't praising the difficulty. From what I have seen, one side is more geared towards Neuvilette and Zhongli while the other side is more burning focused. Correct me if I am wrong
Me, who has none of these things! (I might be able to finagle some burning with Tighnari, DMC, or Baizhu and Thoma, Xiangling, etc., but it won't be able to do anything aside from maybe this one chamber - if it actually manages DAMAGE outside of the number of hits necessary, considering I don't have Emilie or Kinich. Or Nahida.)
I don't what the hell they're doing with genshin since 5.0 things have been going downhill. I'm not enjoying any aspect of the natlan era besides the exploration 😭 New characters feel like a requirement and they work with less and less teammates. The abyss is getting harder and harder to clear without high investment charters that I didn't pull cuz I didn't like them and now I feel forced to have them if I want to complete the endgame. Don't even get me started on the natlan cast and story... Also, after playing zzz genshin feels so much worse.
I absolutely agree Genshin isn't Genshin since Natlan released. I might quit Genshin very soon and hope that Snezhnaya will actually feel like Genshin again.
I started 6 months ago, F2P (world exploration 100%) and I did 27 stars > 34 stars last week > 33 stars this Abyss. This Abyss isn't much harder than the previous one. I'm a new player lacking XP books and artefacts and it was reasonably fine. I expect to manage 34-35 stars once I finish stuffing my new Neuvilette.
While I never rally liked abyss I'm gonna play devils advocate here. in 5.0 I cleared with Raiden hyper carry and Ayaka freeze, and 5.1 again Raiden and Nuvie teams. for the record Raiden is c2 r1 and Ayaka just r1. While this abyss is annoying to deal with its doable with non Natalan units. What I hate most are the time wasting bosses like Serpant, Wolf Lord or Wenut and it all comes down to how good artifacts you have, skill is not a factor and that's always been true ZZZ has something I like in shiyu defense disputed node where S rank depends on if someone died on the team or not, time does not matter. I would like if Abyss was like that, Keep the 10 min do do it but how long you take does not matter for full stars and reward but how many if any character died. Or maybe be like you have to survive x amount of waves to clear fully, that could be fun. I just want the time requirement to be out.
I'll probably try it again in a couple weeks, see if my newly built Chevreuse will be useful. If not, I'll try Electro-charged and Burning again. I'm not doing this Chamber By Chamber, I REFUSE to waste more than three hours on this stupid abyss.
There a difference between hard in a healthy way like that event "Vines are his arrow" triple kenkis and being hard in a restrictive and overwhelmingly biased way like this.
this is biased. You have to run hydro. That hydro HAS to be longrange or you lose precious seconds to the qucusaur flying around, you have to have a geo unit or you can't hurt the wolf lord, you have to have a way to knock the aeonblight down, you have to deal with consecrated beasts and shielded units, you have to hit-check the tenebris. This is both a DPS check and a roster check and it's okay for it to be one OR the other sometimes, but not both. I did 36 star because I'm a meta dolphin account player with 50 artifact lines but it's so easy for me to see how unfun this is and impossible this is for a player who's played like less than a year minimum
@escapetherace1943 Totally correct on that one buddy. Dps check is fine but roster check is soo unfair I don't pull for meta. But it's not impossible though I started playing in 4.8 and I too did 36 star. Not to say it was easy and I had to bring the most Unga bunga team to clear the abyss. Navia Nilou Bennett Xilonen and Nahida hyperbloom with lv 50 collei. Kinda embarrassing comp like wtf is even Navia Nilou😵😵 and a heck ton of booking, one finger was constantly on B button
@@ashphoenix3507 Nilou makes literally negative sense there, literally barbara or any other hydro unit makes more sense 😅but if you can 36 star from only joining in 4.8? that's impressive. You either learned faster than me or the meta pulls are just stronger than they were when I joined, haha.
@@escapetherace1943 Meta pulls after 4.0 are really strong and with them learning curve is also high so you also would've learnt everything faster in my position...lack of furina and yelan made nilou only hydro with consistent of field hydro application. Barbara E takes forever
@@ashphoenix3507 the thing is you didn't need off-field hydro. Nilou's application is very slow and borderline useless, it would also just steal crystallizes from Navia. Barbara really does make more sense here as her autos can take the Qucusaur down and in chamber one you actually can clear it with navia and without hydro quite fast.
@@cmonbruh6636 Not to much secret to it, but that thing transform so fast that maybe you will get hit by the chicken form. If the boss go back to the center of the arena, it will put up the shield again so keep that in mind if you can't one cicle. I also heard that natlan characters can brake the shield fast as well.
@@hagarrastamnz596 Yeah, nightsoul attacks counts as 3 ticks I think? Though not all Natlan characters are recommended for Papilla. The best for it is Kinich (burning+fast nightsoul dendro attacks), but Ororon and Chasca works too.
I did 36 this abyss within an hour or so, but ONLY because I had the right characters, and they had solid kits. That Wolflord boss was the biggest pain for me as I don’t have a geo dps. Barely managed with my support built xilonen. This abyss feels super character gated which is unfair.
As far as the wolflord goes the shield break is based not on amount of geo damage done but units of geo damage done. You could bring a lvl 1 Ningguang and she will take care of the shield in 3x3 hits. The rest of your party can just be whatever team you usually like to use. If you don't have Ningguang perhaps you got Gorou? He can also apply geo damage fairly freely with his charged shot.
@@Ellert00 ah, I see! I already got the full 36 stars on this current abyss run, but I’ll bring her in if that boss re-runs. It wasn’t the most efficient or clean round, but xilonen still got me through!
@@mormegil84pretty similar to me. I demolished the drake so it was ok that I took a bit longer in the first half. I ended up using a super unconventional team on the drake but it worked - c6 fischl, c0 kinich, c6 xiangling and c1 zhongli
Last abyss was the first 36 star I’ve got in a long time possibly ever and it felt really easy so you can imagine my shock this time. I just quit half way not worth it.
I cleared it with Side 1 is Neuvi amd Furina with Geo. Side 2 is Kinich Emilie Amber and Bennett. Yes Amber is very useful in Side 2 as her burst is a multi hit which helps in destroying the Papilla shield and to snipe the Aeon Blight Drake.
using amber with kinich is such a good idea I ended up clearing everything with Mualani Xilonen Nahida Xiangling - 1st half Zhongli Chiori Bennett Kinich - 2nd half
So I'm first gonna do a short overview and then my personal thoughts: Qucusaur is also doable with Xingqiu or Yelan if you don't have Furina because of their coordinated burst hits, so that's not a *massive* issue. Papilla is VERY much aimed to be countered by either *Natlan* units, or teams that apply a lot of elemental hits very quickly (Hyperbloom variants (predominantly Alhaitham ones), Clorinde Aggravate/Overload, or Arlecchino/Yoimiya Vape teams. iow just a barrage of elemental hits. Drake is Drake, requires a bow or a VERY specifically aimed Alhaitham hold skill hit at the glowing orb on the chest. Wolflord? requires a semi-fast attacking Geo applicator. The MAIN issue for this Abyss to me is how the bosses are paired on either side and their requirements. Especially for someone like me whose only Natlan character is *Kachina.* Aside from the Papilla, none of the bosses are exceptionally annoying or aggravating because their mechanics can be dealth with decently if you run the correct elements or weapon types (MAYBE except for the Qucusaur). HOWEVER, the fact that you need a fast hitting elemental team against Papilla and THEN also need to have a bow user against the Drake on the second half is just... BAFFLING. The only team composition I can think of that could clear both efficiently in one go would be... a Clorinde Aggravate team with Fischl that uses Zhongli instead of an Anemo unit to not instantly get nuked by the Papilla? Or maybe an Alhaitham Spread team with Fischl, Yoimiya (Over)Vape... Or a soup team (hydro, double Electro, Pyro). For first half, you need a Geo character with semi-fast Geo application which... barely exists. but you ALSO need a ranged Hydro attacker for the Qucusaur. so you're down to... Noelle Hypercarry with Furina... or an Arlecchino Vape team with Xingqui/Yelan/Furina and Zhongli to use tap skill against the wolf totems... Or a Navia+Furina+Bennett+Xilonen/Noelle/Zhongli/Chiori team? I'm probably missing a myriad of team options here but these are the first ones I can think of. It's WILD how restrictive they made the halves, and not to speak of them AGAIN putting in 3 or 4 waves of INCREDIBLY tanky and annoying enemies in Chamber 1-1, meaning you will barely have any time left for 3 stars against the Primo Geovishap in second half. Oh yeah, that one also kinda requires a shield of *some* sort. It's just... why?
This. I had to shoehorn Ororon as a cope scroll support for Kinich just to have a bow user for the drake, then learn how to use a lone Zhongli to remove the wolflord shield. 🥲
It feels like everyone forgot that Clorinde exists. She trivializes the papila? purple shape shifter boss, through sheer number of attacks. Tbh I've found that my Clorinde OL team can bruteforce almost anything 🤔
It was rough keeping Chlorinde alive chamber 1 side 1 and then I had to just stair at the bird chamber two. Forced to switch to a hydro team, then again forced to switch to a Geo team floor 3. Very annoying. If Hoyo would do one thing just flip the side of chamber 2 and 3 so they don't have opposing checks
@@magiclover9346 If you have Furina or someone holding 4pc Maiden (Cheveruse in my case) on the team, Clorinde will heal like half her HP per E lunge making her quite tanky. My OL team also includes Thoma/Dehya for a bit of super armor.
@@vict632 I was running a Chevvy overload team. My poor Chlorinde was getting stun locked and two shotted. That's the c6 Chevvy overload team. The beasts are super aggressive and immediately on top of you. Makes squishy characters like Chlorinde a risk
Sorry for the rant 😅 Anyways, I feel like when people say "you need this specific character to beat this abyss" or something, I feel like people don't tend to think of a work around solution for boss mecjanics. Yes, Spiral Abyss resets do tend to work best for the banner character, but they don't ever make it so that the banner character is the ONLY solution. For instance, for wolflord, you can use kachina(which you can get for free) for destroying the crystals. With the dragonlord boss, you can use a hydro character to destroy the pyro crystal on the ground so the boss can come down, making it so you can hit it easier(I don't know why some people think they need Furina on this one) And for the Tenebreous Papilla boss, even though Natlan characters make it easier to break the shield, it's not necessary. You need to do alot of elemental hits to the shield, with burning working best against it. Not trying to defend the devs or anything(because I feel like the devs could've made the time limit a bit more forgiving for bosses like the ruin serpent and wenut), but whenever they try to make Abyss more challenging, that's when people complain that it's "too hard" and wonder why they can't use the same 2 teams they've been using in previous resets. And when they make it easier, to the point that you can easily steamroll it with your 2 most powerful teams, people complain that it's "too easy". Again, sorry for the rant, just that I find people's opinion of Spiral Abyss polarizing, to say the least.
Hyperbloom works great against the tree thing too even without Natlan characters. As to your last point, everyone today wants both things to be "hard" only as long as it is convenient. Don't think many gamers under 30 at this point have ever wiped on a raid boss for weeks.....
juice, my shogun is not even enough anymore. this abyss completely drained me and i only have 8/9 stars so far. the worst part about this to me is the fact that only the last couple abyss i was actually able to complete with some effort.
I def prefer a knowledge/mechanic check over a character/region check for abyss. I beat the first half with Neuvillette+Zhongli and the second half with Chasca and I couldn't imagine doing this rotation without 5 stars. Although the Qucusaur isn't that bad with any hydro and the Papilla can be disabled with Kachina/Ororon, forcing us to bring geo on top of hydro for the first half, then forcing us to build Natlan characters + bow characters in the second is more tedious than challenging, AND after all of that it really is just a dmg check. There's challenging long time players, then there's annoying them. If you want a better mechanical challenge with these gimmicks, ramp the damage like Papilla, BUT remove the time limit. Then like in ZZZ make the requirement to have no fallen team members. Now speed runners and whales can still have fun, but ftp long time players are still rewarded for skill, knowledge, and decent damage.
Second half is doable with hyperbloom, burning, anyone who applies fast elemental attacks like Chlorinde/Haitham, or infusion (Benny c6)+fast attacker. I think I've also seen a childe national beat that half. There's still a lot of options tbh. It's still mechanics-based. The only thing I find annoying is the Wolflord smh. The boss arrangement this abyss is more the culprit in making this "hard".
I haven't pulled any of the Natlan units yet. And I was able to clear 36 stars with Neuv, Furina, Zhongli and Albedo. Alhaitham, Nahida, Yelan and Kuki. This was the hardest abyss I've played... But also the most fun.
I cleared with the same teams as you except I used Kazuha instead of Albedo, and I used Xingqiu instead of Yelan. As for my Bow check? Funnily enough, it's not needed. If you use Hold E Plunge when the Aeonblight Drake is flying high in the air, Alhaitham hits it down.
Emilie is absolutely brilliant this abyss. Ends the Papiwhatever, can pull down the Aeonblight even with her skill/burst. Played her onfield with c6 Benny, Xiangling and Kirara and it was fantastic. Raiden/Furina/Yelan/Xilonen ends the first half just like it ends everything else. Feels almost like a cheating team.
I feel sad for Kinich owners who didn't pull Emilie. Off fielders like her who have insane range are too utilitarian to pass up on, it's like fischl or yae or yelan when her burst is up
Players when enemies have massive HP inflation: "Enemies too tanky!! Nerf their HP!!" Players when enemies have mechanic specific counters: "Team building too restrictive!!!!" -Players when enemies have delay mechanic:- can't argue when enemies have delay mechanics (wenut) without being able to stop it. The most annoying abyss was when there were 2 hydro heralds and 2 cryo heralds. Infinite freeze, dashing around, cant be grouped up as easily as lectors. This current 5.2 abyss is not as bad as the previous few abysses. If you wanna 36 stars abyss, trial an error with different team comps until you find the right ones. When game is hard, players complain. When game is too easy, players complain. Just... why? Don't you guys want challenge in your game?
Here is the problem: the abyss is either way too easy or way too hard. However, it is never fun, but rather boring, frustrating. It never reaches a balance where it has a well designed difficulty while also being fun. Is straight-up bullshit from start to finish. And technically, it *IS* as bad as Hsr abyss/moc. Thing is, what Genshin took 4 years to reach, Hsr did in 1 year. And this time, in the bad wah
@@grbrah1198 true, i think the difficulty spike wasnt noticeable at all, most of these people are just bad at the game and try coping with this when this is supposed to be endgame content lmao
@@sandrofelix6796You’d have to be pretty out-of-touch to think Juice suffers from skill issue. Even without skill, she could obliterate the abyss with her whale-tier Furina et al. Juice is reviewing this abyss from a number of different perspectives: how achievable is 36 stars for F2P players, for new players, for players who don’t have specific units, for players who don’t want to change their teams between each floor. I have skill issues up the wazoo, to the extent that I didn’t even find this abyss more difficult than usual. What stood out to me this time was that I had to reconfigure teams between every single floor.
@@nesaaliyah4821 It's mostly skill issue tho, there's no new stuff except that new boss, which a simple hyperbloom team can obliterate. I even saw someone with fischl bennet xinq xiangling obliterate it. Literally just play a little and find the obvious mechanics and defeat it. The flying bird? He goes down to melee range that any hydro can attack, the stupid natlan boss? hyperbloom obliterates it. New players shouldn't be able to clear the abyss on their first tries, it's called endgame for a reason, my friends were able to achieve ar 50 with one week or two of playing and even at 50 they shouldnt be able to do it like its a breeze
I actually liked that for once i had to think for more than 10s what teams i should use instead of just slapping Xiao in one side and Arlecchino in the other. But then that's because i like to complete the whole floor while using the same teams, to me at least the only difficulty in this abyss was reaching the dps check of the 1st chamber while also fulfilling the character requirements of the 2nd and 3rd, but this last two are super easy so if you're having a hard time you can just build your teams to fullfil their requirements (some hydro and geo for first half and an archer or ranged dps on a team that hits fast for the second) and after completing those go with stronger teams for the first chamber. I also think people are exaggerating a lot about the character requirements going like "you NEED to have furina" or "you NEED to have chasca", when most ranged hydros can break the dragon's pyro shield at a reasonable time, and the shield of the other natlan boss just needs you to hit it a lot which is something a lot of characters do (and I'm not sure but i think it's possible to just i-frame its big hit, i haven't tried though). So the only thing i kinda agree with is the enemies being really annoying, i didn't suffer much in terms of getting hit but a lot of them have long invulnerability phases and move too much.
I pulled all the broken supports (with as many constellations as I could) so there's always a combination of them that can beat any Abyss regardless of checks without having to bench your favorite DPS. Tried all the Geos for Wolflord and Nigguang seems the most efficient.
@@saramgr2880 I only use Raiden, and she kind of counts as a support too (Have Ganyu and Childe by accident but perma-benched for years). And I'll get Mavuika because she's still a better off-pyro support than any other character in the game at C1
7:00 it does come down when you crack those gems shoots. But takes time. Overall this abyss is annoying because I have to change teams for literally every chember. Papilla is not any concern her. I have already adapted to it's form change. The main problem is the wolfie. I took Ninguang there and can't take Kachina for her skill cooldown time. Neuvillette, Furina and Kazuha but I am struggling. Most of the Neuvillette's hits couldn't even reach it! Plus bruh the amount of time it wastes for breaking it's shield is crazy. I'm not even getting 1 min for the 2nd half
I think the pairing of chamber bosses are actually fair. The problem with most of us is we're trying beat every chamber in a single run and get over it.😅
I am not usually the type to do this but I did it. I only spend money on the battle pass and the welkin moon so I don't have all the best characters and weapons and crazy builds. I have been able to consistently 36 star the abyss for the past year. While I do agree that this abyss is a massive character check. Chasca is the answer to the tenebrous papilla monster as she can get the boss out of its charging phase with just 4 charged shots, and she can dodge most of its attacks just by floating around. Also, Barbara is a perfect answer to the ququsaur because her normal attacks reaches it in the sky and deletes the "shield" fairly quickly. My teams were: Furina, Navia, Barbara and Xilonen. Chasca, Bennett, Diona and Fischl. Diona gives Chasca a much needed 200 em to work alongside Bennett's buff. The teams worked pretty well I might say.
Players rely too much on Bennett, Kazuha or Neuvy, which makes them lack creativity in team composition ? Clorinde was underrated by META players, but she's still good for Abyss so far, especially the current Abyss 2nd floor.
This abyss is hard, yes, but it's a bit much to say that Natlan characters are required. I've seen someone take down the Pyro dragon with Xingqiu and Gorou. If you have well invested characters and know boss mechanics, it should be doable with enough retries.
I'm a newish player - about a year. Basically I've been trying to CATCH UP - got Raiden awhile back, got nahida more recently, and just got neuv the other day. The feeling I get is that THERE'S NO WAY TO CATCH UP. Hard I don't mind - but when the toons older than a month ago are simply IRRELEVANT, then it seems weird to me.
I cleared with HuTao, Yelan, Xingqiu, Zhongli and Nahida, Furina, Fischl, Kuki....so while I feel for ya being newish, the month old thing is just false. Granted the newish thing does matter since all the 4*s I used are c6 and Furina and Hutao are both c2. I am welkin only on this account but it is 3 years old.
They arent though. Hu tao can still easily do this abyss and she is from 4 years ago. Idk who told you older characters are bad but they dont have a clue
interesting people found it so hard. I found chamber 1 took a few resets and admittedly i actually didn't understand how the wolflord worked but i could clear just fine. My teams were Raiden Taser and Hyperbloom + Fischl
a lot of the people who play this game are like REALLY bad at it and play it only to collect waifus. they love insulting people who play a bit more seriously, but then when content that's a bit harder comes they start crying like little babies. this games already caters too much for the lowest common denominator. if people can't handle the abyss, they should just accept it and walk away, or rise up to the challenge and go in more seriously.
@@GraveUypo bruh make it as hard as u want like dark souls idc but dont force me to play the characters i dont like, i am 1% on akasha with wrio and 2% on furina even so i cant freaking kill the wolflord (okay i get it, i never rlly fought him but bruh what shit ass mechanic is that) and the flower shit doesnt get any dmg like even kachina doesnt help (and she is my only natlan character) i play like a year and cleared my first 36* in 2 and half months in the game, but i never had this problem maybe its hard bcs i only have 5 limited 5*, but this is not "skill issues" this is locked behind new region mechanics, and thats ass, i rather go beat sekiro again than spend another hour trying to understand tf i am doing wrong....
@@mariamkjm I'm on same boat. After non enjoyable amount of time spent there yesterday failing on new boss I was thinking - I would rather spend that time in Dark Souls than here. Must say that it was a bit skill issue, today I have earned my standard 33 stars (don't know what I miss for 36, may be weapons, may be OP artifacts or cons or a little bit of everything). Did I feel like I enjoyed it? Definitely not. I feel like it's made for whales to yell "It was piece of cake".
Genshin fans: "WAAAAAAH. THE ABYSS IS TOO EASY. NO END GAME. WAAAAAAH" Also genshin players: "WAAAAAH THE SPIRAL ABYSS IS A DPS CHECK AND IS TOO HARD WAAAAAAAAH" As someone who plays genshin religiously, we have the most hypocritical fanbase ever. We cry and complain for harder content and when it gives us harder content, we cry and conplain that it's harder. People complain to hear themselves complaining because they have nothing better in their life to do other than to complain
2:10 Why use Chasca in first half? She is meant for second half and absolutely trivializes the enemies there, Neuvi is more than enough for first half even without a Xilonen, if you have Xilonen premium team then obviously that's easy, but slotting another Geo with Neuvi isn't a DPS loss, but slotting a Geo with Chasca is DPS loss, First half is Neuvi/Zhongli Chamber, Second half is Chasca chamber (If C2+ she can be used in both Chambers tbh)
Is it bad that I kinda liked the new abyss? It was frustrating to play but I tried out a lot of teams and actually feel like I may have gotten better at the game.
I enjoyed this Abyss. I had to be more creative with my teams, but cleared it. My side 1 team was Chlorinde/Kazuha/Kachina/Chiori. Definitely not a 'well-crafted' team according to theory crafting... But to beat this abyss I had to get creative.
The only reason I was able to 36-star this Abyss was because I had to bring out my Dolphin-teams. Neuvilette +C2 Xilonen + Kazuha + C2 Furina for the first half because of the stupid red dragon and rock wolf. C2 Kinich + C1 Emilie + C1 Dehya + C6 Bennett for the second half because my Kinich is a *god* who demolishes HP at exceptional speeds. He's the only one I have who can ruin the Vishap in record time. The thing is- I don't like relying on these teams in Abyss too much. I invest into my characters more horizontally and I want to experiment with a variety of teams. Part of what I enjoy about the Abyss is that it allows me to do that in a way that actually forces me to think with some strategy or gives me enough time to mess around. This time? Fuck the first half of Floor 12. The damn Qucusaur is a pain to take down without Furina or Chasca, It IS possible, but it's such a waste of time trying to aim and shoot it. In other news, I learned that Wanderer can't auto-aim or struggles with enemies who go that high. But even if I wanted to use my shiny new Chasca, I have no choice but to sacrifice her potential because you need a Geo to make Golden Wolflord go by faster. Yes you can use any other element, but the time it takes for a Geo to destroy the heads VS a non-Geo is night and day. It's just...Really annoying.
The abyss isn't hard but technical. The only hard part is the first half if the first room that requires high DPS ... or Neuvilette that is on banner. The fire bird doesn't need Furina, just break the two flames and he lands. For the purple boss, you need characters that spam attacks. Zero gear required, just 72 hits. Natlan character hits count x3. Kachina lvl40 demolishes the geo skulls. The challenge is to 36 stars aka kill in one stun. The flying dragon requires an archer. Tons of teams are viable. Yes, 36 stars can be an issue, but 33 stars is quite easy.
@@Bvic3 I agree. same experience I had the most trouble with chamber 1 first half. tough to clear in 90 secs. constipated beasts pain. I agree for the most part except kachina on wolf lord heads. better with ninguang on HOCC/Noblesse/ToTM + TTDS even if just lvl 20. Kachina skill cooldown is too long. but yeah ive been seeing a lot of complaints about this abyss...
The abyss was a bit difficult but I had fun. The team I use for floor 12 was First Phase: Neuvillette, Furina, Chiori, Zhongli & Second Phase: Chasca, Shenhe, Bennett, Diona.
My thing is the random Geo wolf that stalls your time and that flying robot that backs up every time one of Furina minions buck at it🤣🤣I just feel like the enemy lineups just haven’t been making that much sense lately
The geo boss timing is perfectly designed. The skulls appear after 45s, it takes 15s to clear them (Kachina lvl40 c0 works fine) and then 30s of stun with DEF debuff. You're supposed to reduce HP by 25% before skulls. Then 75% in the 30s of stun. The aerodragon also has a huge DEF debuff when you use an archer to do the mechanic. Also, the crazy elemental resistance buff only happens if you fail the mechanic. You're not supposed to ever see it. Ororon, Fischl, Chasca. The last two banners had 3 archers that are extremely good for both the purple boss and aerodragon.
I'm so happy to see this video pop up, I went from being able to get 9* in floor 12 or close to it almost each time to barely scrapping out 5* and if anything my teams have only gotten stronger over the years I've been playing, this 5.2 Abyss is.. just horrible.
You don’t need Furina to beat the Qucusaur. It will fall down if you extinguish the Flamewind Feathers with a hydro character. This can be done quickly. If will be paralyzed for a long time and then you could unleash all your powers while it is locked in one place on ground level.
I found that you dont really need to pull any of the new Natlan characters to beat the boss You get Kachina for free so every account should be able to apply nightsoul onto the boss
@@Tanpopo2013 for the ququsaur you need xinqiu, which is one of the most recomended character for every account, or be able to see the cristals and breaks those to lower the boss. for the wolf lord you need a geo character to break the heads or, hear me a moment, xinqiu who can apply element very consistent to break those.
I remember when people were saying the theater was difficult. Oh, how the pendulum has swung. (Speaking as someone who doesn't care for any of the "endgame content" and has only gone into the Abyss to get constellations for Xiangling and Collei)
Theatre is difficult for entirely different reasons. I 36 starred this abyss first go no problem with zero deaths or resets but can’t get past imaginarium 6. I just don’t have enough characters built well enough that the randomness of imaginarium can screw me over without resetting again and again.
@@spamspasm8183ive never had issues with IT. its mostly having 5 DPS characters with some great support and some ok characters that give some benefit, either resonance, TTDS,HOCC noblesse etc.. you usually get 1 dps from the opening cast, to clear first 2 stages. and you borrow 1 from a friend, so you only need 3 good dps, 4 great supports, 4 decent supports and some fillers for the remaining 8 stages.
Characters count requirement is fine, characters at least give you flexibility and new gameplay. But if abyss continues getting harder it will get constellations and weapon requirements for completing which is what is completely dumb. If game requires you to spend rolls to png's - its p2w trash, i eith genshin will not run this way.
Idk Juice. Hyperbloom makes the 2nd half a breeze, so you only need to think about the first half. You dont even need geo if your dps can kill the wolf fast enough. Neuvi destroyed it for me, no shields, xilonen to deal with the wolf and buff. The only requirement is ranged hydro to bring the red dragon down. So i think you might be exaggerating a bit with the difficulty. I prefer a boss rush over a lot of random enemies in multi waves.
i cant even get past 11 3. literally the entire thing is easy except the last room where i get one tapped and for some reason nothing i have built well enough can scratch those omniscient water balls of wrath
ah, they're both local legends. try using a freeze team. i don't know if they can be frozen but i assume they can. otherwise you can use either a geo team for survivalbility, or a turret team to avoid damage entirely (like yae and fischl with a dendro for hyperbloom)
Dont know what teams you have but I used venti/ayaka freeze on side 1 and hutao mono pyro on side 2 for that....dont think I had a time under 9 minutes.
take a shielder and a healer with you, and a pyro DPS, then it should be easy. Alternatively, do some resets just learning their attack patterns and dodge them, and figure out when it's best to keep your distance for a few seconds. Letting the more melee focused enemy run at and past you and then focusing the ranged one can be quite effective, and you can also evade the latter by running behind it at the right moment. Be aware that if you take Bennett with you, you will have a Pyro aura on you while in his Burst, so they will trigger Vaporize on you & deal extra damage through that. I personally did it with solo Arlecchino (C0 and Homa R1), took a few tries bc they do deal a lot of dmg, but it's doable :)
I think the abyss was easy. You can take down the Qucusaur with any hydro character that has some sort range, you just gotta break the Pyro crystals to bait it down to melee distance. Papilla's shield isn't a big deal as well, it needs 72 elemental hit to he broken, hyperbloom/chevy overload/burning/electro charged/Natlan characters can all take it down. It really is a skill issue on your part if you don't bother to learn about a boss's mechanics. Wolflord is the only one that's truly infuriating, Geo character is pretty much necessary otherwise you'll take ages to break down those wolf heads and the boss keeps flying.
As a low spender who has played for 2 years, my account is only now caught up enough that i can reliably get stars on 12. High water mark is 5/9 so far. It's been brutal
I'm the only one who didn't find it that hard? I mean yeah sure, its not the easiest, but it wasn't impossible. I didn't even used a natlan character for the abyss flower.
this abyss was just rather annoying than anything (the beast enemies were the hardest ones due to me having a c0 neuv) but other than that, the flower boss is pretty easy with a hyperbloom team
I really didn't find it that difficult either? Taser with Xilonen first half, Emilie Burning second half. I didn't even get good cards. First chamber had a couple resets just based on enemy behavior, but that's nothing out of the ordinary.
@@maevethefox5912 This was my experience too. I used HuTao National (yelan/xingqiu/zhongli variant) on side one and nahida/furina/fischl/kuki hyperbloom on side 2 and minus a single reset in chamber one where I messed up the timing on iframing the primals breath attack, I didnt struggle at all.
this is not just DPS check but also element check + Natlan Characters who have night souls blessing, quite Racist for who not pulling natlan characters it doesn't balance and force us to use an Random Team that make it worse
Give Amber a try on the 2nd half of Floor 12. Amber burst hits 18 times to shred through a good chunk of the Tenebrous Papilla's ward. Pair that with Burning's ticking damage and that ward will fall quickly. Amber can hold something like Deepwood there. Amber Burst procs Deepwood which lasts for 8 seconds, then toss out Baron Bunny and whenever Baron Bunny explodes, it will refresh Deepwood. If you're using Amber as your Deepwood holder, it would let you run the Obsidian Codex and Reverie sets for Kinich and Emilie respectively if you're using them. If you don't want to run a Burning team, Amber can always hold a support set like Noblesse or Instructor. She also has a short 12 second cooldown on her burst, so you may even be able to squeeze 2 bursts in the time limit if you're quick and have good energy generation. That 12 second cooldown also matches the Noblesse buff's uptime, so if you can play a team with a short rotation, that can keep your team fully buffed. Bonus points if you also have Amber's c6 for the extra Atk buff there. And then Amber serves as your bow user for Aeonblight Drake. And since Amber is just there for support and her personal damage doesn't really matter, you can put really cheap investment on her and only give her Energy Recharge and maybe some HP if you're worried about her dying.
I also use Amber and she won't die easily just put a lot of ER + Elegy of the End + DW for Kinich Against the Abyss Flower just need to use Burst then Skill then Swap Against the Flying Machine. Snipe the weak spot , burst then skill then swap.
Every time I get on smth like this, abyss content, and read comments with complains, can only wonder: what did you do to your account that it can't clear? New ones - sure, they are limited, and it's ok, since abyss is an endgame. But an old account... With character roaster being flexible? Unbelivable. Only if you pull dps-only idk, other way supports is what makes every content accessible for the most part. I barely change teams, only adjust elemental checks, if needed, it's fun. But even than i retried once in my first run of this abyss. No Neuvi or Arle on acc, not even my Nahida was used, too easy. Furina? Sure, c0, but with Yelan of all people, just wanted to play her ig. I have hyperinvested chars, with cons or weapon, but Clorinde c0r0 was good too.
Because some people don't like restrictive teams and it's absolutely valid to be annoyed since the abyss is gated behind a time limit. This is not a darksouls game where you can take your time to clear the boss in your own pace and not be punished for it. Those games value skills over DPS checks.
The funny thing is: the whole abyss is manageable right up until floor 12. I literally 9 starred every floor up until floor 12, but then couldn’t even progress past chamber 2 there, and of course I didn’t get a single star in chamber 1 either. I’m an f2p player, I don’t wanna whale for the “satisfaction” of being able to 36 star this atrocity. P.S. they added two awesome bosses in Natlan: the “sekiro” boss and the “dark souls” boss as I call them - one for which you have to time your blocks to do significant damage and the other one for which you have to time your dodges. These are interesting, actually engaging bosses, which demand skill, not wallet or luck.
Not really. You don't NEED Furina with bird, you can use any hydro or electro bow user, and hydro bow will take birdie down faster then Furina. But yeah, some people don't have them cuz all 3 of them are 5*. You don't NEED any Natlan characters with new boss on second half, you can just avoid this attack, because if can't go through his shield anyway, you can just go out of range, cuz it's not "full arena attack". So yeah, I can agree with "this is a DPS check", but everything else is kinda... Not really. My 1 half team was Nevi/Yae/Tartaglia(any hydro or electro bow)/Xilonen. Second half Arle/Zhongli/Any bow user (for 3rd floor)/Bennet. This way it was only dps check.
Dunno how lucky it was, but my testing showed that Emilie will bring down the flying jerk in 12-3-2. Her skill/burst hits coming from above will hit the weak spots. Not sure how reliable it is, but I did it once and then replicated it. Emile/Kirara/Bennett/Xiangling absolutely shredded second half.
It doesn't, I had Kinich and Emilie... a perfect burning team duo. Emilie's attack never hits the weak spot, E or Q. Amber, Yoimiya, or Lyney is the optimal choice for anti-air measure
Honestly, I like the Tenebrous Papilla... In paper. Even the overworld version's shield is extremely overblown, and the stats are stupidly high for no real reason. Honestly, if I didn't straight up abuse exploration and the free artifacts for the sake of gearing my Kinich, I don't think I would have gotten past it. Genshin's abyss is not the problem (In concept). It is the overinflated stats, and the really horrible enemy design, like you said. We don't even have enough stamina anymore, and the cooldown in dodges was always a bad way to balance it to begin with.
Hoyo break the tradition of x.5 and later Abyss cycle painful to absolutely painful from the earliest version. I can't even imagine the latter half of Natlan abyss cycle
You don't need natlan characters. I cleared with a Yoimiya overvape team with Yoi/XQ/Fischl/Bennett. You just need a team that gives high elemental hits. (Burning, hyperbloom, etc)
@@ShadowXviper01 Neuv doesn't apply hydro fast enough despite what it visually looks like. And Xilonen despite being a Natlan character is not that great for this boss either because her nightsoul state is too short. If you're wanting to run a Neuvillette team with Raiden, might I suggest a hyperbloom team with an EM Raiden build? Or even swapping Neuv for Xingqiu for faster application
No one asked for a abyss that can only be cleared with certain characters. I cleared it easyly, but only because i have c2neuvi c2furi c1r1kazuha r1xilonen and chasca, otherwise, it would be Impossible
@@Clover2a4688 HP pool isn't the problem because our damage are supposed to get higher with every character improvement. Not having specific units is. The bosses have high resistances but once broken they will melt.
People is so lazy getting creative with their teams. Always complains about the content being too easy and then complaining about any harder content that appears.
@@omivalfilho143 cleared without neuvi and chasca (I dont have any 5 star natlan character except xilonen and unbuilt ororon and free kachina). It is not impossible. Its difficult sure, but not impossible.
What are all of you talking about? I feel this abyss easier than the one before this... I'm gonna play the abyss a second time but no five stars and pre sumeru teams, i will edit this comment if i get some difficult or if change my mind about this abyss. Edit: Well I don't know... first of all I couldn't do it without at least one hyperbloom team or some character from Sumeru onwards. I'll be honest, I didn't get a complete route, I had to restart at some point to recharge energy, because I couldn't get enough damage since most of my 4 stars are at lvl 80 (a problem on reaction teams like hyperbloom, electrocharge, overload), by doing the rotation wrong or by Skill Issue... doing the rotation wrong and Skill Issue is the same. My short answer is that it is possible, I couldn't but I don't feel that it wasn't possible, however it is true that they are obliged to carry certain characters, specifically xinqiu and a geo in the first part (or failing that, xinqiu and a lot of elementary application) and a bow in the second part The long answer is very long: The first room, first half. It was the one that cost me the most for part 1, I was forced to go with a geo and xinqiu or any team that has a lot of elemental application + xinqiu (I'm faster removing the invulnerable phase of the dinosaur with xinqiu than waiting for furina's pets lower it). The team I felt most likely to do the full route with was Ningguang Hyperbloom in the first part and Heizou+Xiangling+Faruzan+Bennet, but that broke my own non-sumeru character rules, it's just that that was one of the last attempts I made. Something that surprised me is that it was possible to beat the first part with sucrose taser, however I couldn't... I mean yes, but only when I changed beidou to ororon. I also tried a team of noelle+xinqiu+yunjin+Gorou but my gorou is not c6, my noelle's build is marechousei with furina and I don't have a different set, I put the best artifacts I could but I couldn't complete room 12-1 -1 and 12-2-1 without wasting too much time, my noelle didn't do enough damage. In part 2 I tried several teams but they forced me to have a bow character, I tried heizou+fischl+Xiangling+Bennet, it was a good team but as I said I had no damage with Noelle in the first part, I don't know if this combination could complete the abyss 12 without restart. Then I changed fischl for faruzan just to try and I think a c6 faruzan would make it possible, mine is c2. At one point I removed the restriction of no characters from Sumeru onwards., I tried overload" with fischl+chevreuse+xiangling+bennet but... skill issue, I died many times and got frustrated xD. I also tried hyperbloom in both parts at the same time, but if I followed the rules I had ningguang+xinqiu+traveler dendro +kuki and on the other part I would have barbara+collei+lisa... yes, I was missing a hydro and dendro application, I have yaoyao but lvl 50 but my barbara was also lvl 60, collei 60, lisa 70... I don't know if I could win with that team. At one point I tried sukokomon because I was thinking so much about teams and when I went to room 12-3 I remembered that kokomi was 5 star jajajaja. My opinion: I had a very subjective opinion because I compared the reasons in the video with my first attempt in which I crossed the abyss without difficulty, the first part was spent with noelle+furina+yelan, asi nomas, Just like that, I forgot that I had put Xilonen in this part and then I put her in part 2, I started it and when I realized I said "let's see what happens" and that was one of the reasons i though this abyss was easy, however now that I tried it with xinqiu it actually worked for me easier to remove the invincible phase from the dinosaur, I just had to stick to the wall, where the stairs are, the dinosaur throws 1 or 2 fragments, if it throws one then after throwing them and if you break them in time, it stays floating low, at a height that even Xinqiu's orbital swords applied hydro to him, you just have to be careful not to get oneshotted the moment he goes down (I tanked the damage with Noelle's shield and her absurd defense, so when I heard that Zhongli was not useful in this abyss I thought "he almost oneshotted me, if I didn't have Noelle I would say that the best thing if I don't know the attacks is a shield like zhongli even at the cost of having to carry someone who does not provide damage, since Zhongli's uncharged pillar delete one of the wolflord's 3 heads while you go for the second, Zhongli's ulti delete the second and the third you also use the pillar. So if you have little application or you have a eula type team it doesn't matter because zhongli does all the work in that case) In the second part I do not consider that having the clorinde will affect that i ended part 2 very quickly, it is true that you may have to change teams to take a team with a damage source of a different element since the primovishap has electro resistances, if you have keqing aggravated with fischl then you will have enough application to kill the new boss' bar and not have to wait for it to finish by itself, also if you have a good build you will have enough damage to finish before you start that bar again. 12-3 was the easiest for me when I did it the first time, for some reason the wolflord starts his invulnerable phase after 3-4 patterns even if you don't lower it enough health, in the case of the mecha chicken he died before I realized it.
Genshin as a whole took a massive turn for the worst after 5.0. They're just straight up gatekeeping the game for mono-Natlan teambuilding at low to medium constellations. Forget about character development or attachment to a character, just pull for Natlan characters because they're meta.
Sounds like a skill issue. Didnt use a single Natlan character....Furina was the newest character I did use. 1 reset because I failed to i frame out of the geovishaps breath explosion thing. You know how to get good at games - stop blaming the devs and admit when you arent good enough so you can improve. Still main Hutao, including on side 1 of this abyss. Your statement doesn't make sense.
From the moment they let us skips floors 9 and 10, I knew this was coming. Floor 12 is so bad, when i cleared chamber 2 it felt like chamber 3. Then when i realized I still had another one left, I know i was screwed. The most ANNOYING part by far is when a boss like Wolflord requires a specific element. I brought Xilonen as my Geo and she does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to his sheilds, WTF is that about?! Now you expect me to remix my team, and redo the whole thing?! You can keep your stupid last few primos... 😒
Used First half:Neuvi , Furina , Kazuha , Xilonen Second half: Hu tao , Yelan , Xingqui , Zhongli . Went very easy for me . Only C1 hu tao in terms of cons
Your Second Half team was my first half team. Was not overly difficult (beside a failed skill check on my part i framing the geovishaps breath). Used hyperbloom on side 2.
One moment people complain that the abyss, the most difficult content in the game, is too easy, then after it gets harder, they complain that it's too difficult. No, the abyss isn't too hard, you're the bad ones, I'm f2p and I didn't have that much trouble getting 36 stars. it's a children's game, for god's sake.
Surprised you put Chasca that half. She's the only character I've broken the overworld Tenebrous Papilla's shield with, so I HAD to put her on that. And I've never been accustomed to continuous floor twelve runs, so I build for chamber three first. I managed to squeak by on two as well this time, so I only had to redo chamber one with different teams. But there have been plenty of times I had to try different combos for each chamber. If I hadn't pulled for Chasca I think I'd have been cooked for the Tenebrous's chamber. I really feel for the people who've been skipping most of Natlan because they don't vibe with the designs, because that nightsoul shield is brutal.
Abyss has always been seen as endgame content. If you can still reach floor 11, chamber 2 at AR35 maybe the difficulty is scaling with the higher floors only? I wouldn’t know, but it’s still very difficult even with different strategies. I’m interested in your ideas about the current abyss tho.
Skill Issue Galore. I disagree. This is not the worst or hardest Spiral Abyss we had. Yes, they did amp up the difficult bosses you have to defeat on floor 12. But to say this is the worst? Nope. The hardest and worst abyss was (Don’t remember which patch it was) when they added Cryo and Hydro Abyss Mage Lectors in the same floor. That was the most frustrating abyss floor ever! The past SA were easy to beat. This abyss I had more of a challenge to switch my team rotations and strategize what characters to use to be the most effective in beating all floor 12 1-3 enemies.
I was able to 36* this abyss doing one chamber at a time, changing some teams in between, and spending a few hours on attempts. I think the way Genshin implements “difficulty” is just via tactics that feel terrible to play against - HP inflation, invulnerable states and animations, restrictive team requirements, multi-waves that take extra time when on low ping…and all paired with a time limit for max rewards and the fact you have to restart entire floors or entire chambers. If they don’t want to change tactics, giving just a bit more time or allowing us to restart from the second half of a chamber or a certain chamber in a floor would help make the Abyss a lot less aggravating.
i honestly didn’t find this abyss that difficult and cleared it first try. i used neuv, xiangling, kazuha and xilonen first half and hu tao xq yelan and zhongli second half. if you break those pyro things the goldenflame tyrant places it goes into enough range for neuv to break the shield. xq and yelan have enough elemental application for the pipilla. xilonen can easily deal with the geo check for the golden wolflord

"A ham fisted way to shove shields back into the meta."
I thought so too so I brought Zhong Li...then saw me get one shot THROUGH my Shield because "oh the Papilla's gimmick deals damage through shields".
tank it with a def or an HP character. my noelle and my xilonen are able to tank both hits of the nuke. def better tho cuz it's easier to heal and tankier than hp. you can also use a burst to bypass the damage entirely, or just kill the shield in time to cancel the nuke.
It is corrosion but somehow WORSE
With my mono geo team i learnt to time an . Though still super annoying
This happened to me, I simply couldn't believe it
same, i almost couldn't believe my eyes when i thought that enemy was just doing nothing then suddenly-, my active char inside zhongli's shield died with 1 shot
It feels like they're pushing us into individual floor tactics. Do a run, get your record, reset. Do a bad floor 1 run and do your good run for floor 2. Ugh. Kill me.
That's what I did lol, got three stars in the 2nd and 3rd then used mono pyro and double hydro HB after
You mean chamber
Nah bro i'm fine ,first half Neuvi, second Clorinde, its ok

Yeah I had to brute force some sides with C3 to C6 5*, like the Papiliae thing I can't seem to destroy the shield in time and it one shots me.
That being said I don't mind since my vertically invested characters actually have some use.
@Marc-w1f5x The struggle on my f2p account was beyond real AF, eventually I finally managed to 36 Star with literally one second left on the clock.
If you wanna go even FURTHER, it's:
DPS+ELEMENTAL+REGION+WEAPON(bow) check!! What the fuck the Aeonblight Drake forgot in the Abyss?? He was LITERALLY IN THE PREVIOUS ONE!!
i will use my C6 furina VS whoever designed this abyss

Otherwise you will only have 40 second on the drake because of the waking animation plus the flying up animation takes nearly 10 seconds.
sorry but level 20 yunjin fixed my problem (not even a problem really) on wolflord. Also, this abyss is difficult, but it was the most fun.
@@kraylis1 Yes, it is so fun to make a game with 91 playable characters but force your player base to use 5 very specific ones in order to clear the late game.
Overly restricting the player is NEVER fun.
This fix is so simple yet so effective at removing the main source of anxiety
I always clear the abyss in 3 minutes for 3 stars, but if I couldn't 3 star it, then it's 2 stars, but I never take more than 4 minutes to clear a chamber.
That extra 1 minute is a guaranteed 3 star, and allows you to still 3 star if the boss somehow used their time-wasting moves the second time, like Wenut, Wolflord, and Serpent's
Problem isn't omg I can't clear
Problem is the enemies don't feel fun to go against
I cleared this abyss very easily with
Navia Bennett Tartaglia Chiori first half
Shenhe Ayaka Yelan Kazuha second half
it was a cakewalk, but I hated it because the enemies are frustrating to go against
@@whydoineedname4932 How many times did you reset?

And that's the easiest one.
as a newer player I’ve only just got to floor 12 and couldn’t get beyond chamber 1.
@ time to let go of my 36 stars with off meta teams dream before I even really began 🥲
Genshins idea of difficulty INFINITE SHIELDS
For real... the shields restrict your possible characters so hard.
@@sagefoil8699 you dont have kachina? just give her scroll and she can do the wolflord mechanic

and yeah, i miss coppelia
the flying enemy gimmick is absolutely stupid because we have no control over how our characters attack. if we could aim upwards that would be okay, but no, the character stays there like an idiot swinging at nothing when leaning a bit upwards would allow them to reach the enemy. that's what gets me.

I think we all agree that this level of annoyance and anxiety will instantly VANISH if one of the following is changed
1. Remaining time longer than 420 seconds is changed to 300 seconds, same time limit as floor 9, 10, 11
2. Primogems earning is changed from gaining a star, to earning them through clearing the abyss itself, like the artifact reliquaries you earned from clearing the abyss, so I don't have to get insane to earn that mere 50 primos
3. Floor 13 which doesn't reward you primogems, but bragging rights
Imaginarium theater got this right, earning a stella there doesn't award you primogems, but you get to show them off through your character profile
There's one event, it probably had rerun twice. Yes it took so long to mow it down, it's harder than the abyss ones, it can one-shot you, yes... but I can fight the boss on my own pace
That is what the abyss should've been, THE TIME LIMIT is the biggest issue to the abyss in terms of the fun factor, especially primogems are at stake
For people strugling with Papilla's shield:
- If you have Ororon, just apply hydro and burst, her shield will be down in no time.
- Burning teams are amazing. If you have Thoma it's his time to shine since he is both a shielder and a pyro app. Of course Nahida and Emilie are incredible for this role. (I have broken this shield with only Thoma's Burst followed by Nahida Normal Attack Spam)
- Overload teams can also break it fast.
- Fischl at C6 is pretty good too and she can also be used to down the Dumbass Drake
- Yelan + Xingqiu can also down her shield. You'll need both bursts tho.
- Bennet C6 combined with any fast normal attacker (Xiangling) can also help
- Hyperbloom for obvious reasons
If you are not really being able to break her shield, you can always flee to the other side of the arena so it doesnt hit you.
What I hate most are the time wasting bosses like Serpant, Wolf Lord or Wenut and it all comes down to how good artifacts you have, skill is not a factor and that's always been true
ZZZ has something I like in shiyu defense disputed node where S rank depends on if someone died on the team or not, time does not matter. I would like if Abyss was like that, Keep the 10 min do do it but how long you take does not matter for full stars and reward but how many if any character died. Or maybe be like you have to survive x amount of waves to clear fully, that could be fun. I just want the time requirement to be out.
Still haven't finished it and don't really want to. Thank god we have 30 days to do it lol

this is biased.
I cleared it with
Side 1 is Neuvi amd Furina with Geo.
Side 2 is Kinich Emilie Amber and Bennett. Yes Amber is very useful in Side 2 as her burst is a multi hit which helps in destroying the Papilla shield and to snipe the Aeon Blight Drake.
Fully leveled and geared Ambers are rarer than a Shenhe main.
@@Zzues I used the same team with a lv50 Deepwood Amber! The bosses are kinda squishy after you get rid of the shields 😅
Clear with
1) furina zhongli noelle archileno
2) Thoma, nahida, Yelan, Keqing
using amber with kinich is such a good idea
I ended up clearing everything with
Mualani Xilonen Nahida Xiangling - 1st half
Zhongli Chiori Bennett Kinich - 2nd half
So I'm first gonna do a short overview and then my personal thoughts:
Qucusaur is also doable with Xingqiu or Yelan if you don't have Furina because of their coordinated burst hits, so that's not a *massive* issue.
Especially for someone like me whose only Natlan character is *Kachina.*
Aside from the Papilla, none of the bosses are exceptionally annoying or aggravating because their mechanics can be dealth with decently if you run the correct elements or weapon types (MAYBE except for the Qucusaur).
Because we skipped her :P
I brute forced it with Raiden C2r1 overload. Took me a bunch of tries though.
How to clear this curent abyss as its very easy:

Im so glad i am vertically invested, i was just BARELY able to brute force this with international and neuv
Sorry for the rant 😅
Anyways, I feel like when people say "you need this specific character to beat this abyss" or something, I feel like people don't tend to think of a work around solution for boss mecjanics. Yes, Spiral Abyss resets do tend to work best for the banner character, but they don't ever make it so that the banner character is the ONLY solution.
For instance, for wolflord, you can use kachina(which you can get for free) for destroying the crystals.
With the dragonlord boss, you can use a hydro character to destroy the pyro crystal on the ground so the boss can come down, making it so you can hit it easier(I don't know why some people think they need Furina on this one)
And for the Tenebreous Papilla boss, even though Natlan characters make it easier to break the shield, it's not necessary.
Your shogun needs a shotgun.
Fr, I had to play hyperbloom raiden to get past the shield.
ilove how eloquent you are. i agree with everything you said and i enjoyed how you say it.
And I was able to clear 36 stars with
Neuv, Furina, Zhongli and Albedo.

Nerf their HP!!"
Players when enemies have mechanic specific counters: "Team building too restrictive!!!!"
-Players when enemies have delay mechanic:- can't argue when enemies have delay mechanics (wenut) without being able to stop it.
When abyss is easy, people are angry, when abyss is hard, people are angry…at least it’s not like hsr’s abyss
@@Otherfacethe abyss wasnt that bad tbh

Same the only dps I have are Neuvilette and Ayaka
My teams were:
Furina, Navia, Barbara and Xilonen.
Personally I like this abyss specifically cause it's hard. It's hard, but beatable. My version of fun.
interesting people found it so hard.

“You can’t have fun wrong”, as a MMORPG creator I follow says.
I’m glad you liked it!
@@Bvic3the boss itself isnt the problem its the completely random placing of it in this abyss
I'm so happy to see this video pop up, I went from being able to get 9* in floor 12 or close to it almost each time to barely scrapping out 5* and if anything my teams have only gotten stronger over the years I've been playing, this 5.2 Abyss is.. just horrible.
Breaking qucusaur's shield is not hard. Xingqu can actually break the shield faster than furina and any hydro catalyst can break the shield
You don’t need Furina to beat the Qucusaur. It will fall down if you extinguish the Flamewind Feathers with a hydro character. This can be done quickly. If will be paralyzed for a long time and then you could unleash all your powers while it is locked in one place on ground level.
I found that you dont really need to pull any of the new Natlan characters to beat the boss
You get Kachina for free so every account should be able to apply nightsoul onto the boss
For the Wyvern/dragon boss, I just used a bow.
Yeah it requires aim but that's just a part of every game
@@Tanpopo2013 for the ququsaur you need xinqiu, which is one of the most recomended character for every account, or be able to see the cristals and breaks those to lower the boss.

This abyss is so light that even Neuvillette can cross it. I don't know what you're talking about.
At least with Abyss there isn’t any dumb number of characters requirement

@ I mean like I am using a team of level 60-70s but even then I’ve gotten to floor 12 easily most of the time
Dont know what teams you have but I used venti/ayaka freeze on side 1 and hutao mono pyro on side 2 for that....dont think I had a time under 9 minutes.
take a shielder and a healer with you, and a pyro DPS, then it should be easy.
I think this abyss is really cool! You have to actually think to do it
I think the abyss was easy.

I also use Amber and she won't die easily just put a lot of ER + Elegy of the End + DW for Kinich
Against the Abyss Flower just need to use Burst then Skill then Swap
Against the Flying Machine. Snipe the weak spot , burst then skill then swap.
Amber meta at last!
One bad abyss so now we need to make a video covering this trend... after one point of data.
The worst part of this abyss is how the enemies are spread out in the chambers
Bro I play on the phone and I was able to 36 star (F2p) what are you guys talking about?
But yes add new more floor already
And they say genshin don't take skill 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡
It doesnt. This takes money. Maybe play better games for a change and see how good games are balanced.
Archer?
It doesn't, I had Kinich and Emilie... a perfect burning team duo.
Emilie's attack never hits the weak spot, E or Q.
Amber, Yoimiya, or Lyney is the optimal choice for anti-air measure
Ah so nobody likes the Tenebrous Pissfart. Thats fine. Thought I was just bad at gaem. I mean, I am bad at gaem but so is everyone else. Yay
can we please all vote to eliminate that thing
@Juice-chan I sure am voting
We don't even have enough stamina anymore, and the cooldown in dodges was always a bad way to balance it to begin with.
i kinda like it.
It melts to hyperbloom and I've heard Taser and Overload teams work well on it too, even without Natlan characters (personally used hyperbloom).
Hoyo break the tradition of x.5 and later Abyss cycle painful to absolutely painful from the earliest version. I can't even imagine the latter half of Natlan abyss cycle
You missed that you'll never break the tenebrous papilla shield if you don't have new natlan characters, and it'll one shot you afterwards
You don't need natlan characters. I cleared with a Yoimiya overvape team with Yoi/XQ/Fischl/Bennett. You just need a team that gives high elemental hits. (Burning, hyperbloom, etc)
@dbzsonic1069 really ?....I tried neuv raiden xilonen kazuha, couldn't break, one shotted my neuv
I don't have Natlan character except the free Kachina, but I cleared it. You can detonate that new boss with Fishl and Xinq.
@@ShadowXviper01 no wonder, that lineup sucks
All i can say is " hey this hard, the hard content yall been waitn gor years"
you people can't be pleased istg. you cry for 3 years about abyss being too easy then cry about it being too hard the minute it ramps up
We’ve always been upset about the hp pools getting bigger and bigger, while making the bosses more infuriating.
My short answer is that it is possible, I couldn't but I don't feel that it wasn't possible, however it is true that they are obliged to carry certain characters, specifically xinqiu and a geo in the first part (or failing that, xinqiu and a lot of elementary application) and a bow in the second part
The long answer is very long: The first room, first half.
So if you have little application or you have a eula type team it doesn't matter because zhongli does all the work in that case)
In the second part I do not consider that having the clorinde will affect that i ended part 2 very quickly, it is true that you may have to change teams to take a team with a damage source of a different element since the primovishap has electro resistances, if you have keqing aggravated with fischl then you will have enough application to kill the new boss' bar and not have to wait for it to finish by itself, also if you have a good build you will have enough damage to finish before you start that bar again.
So your telling me I now have to use more than two characters on each floor in the abyss now (Been doing so going on 2 years now)
From the moment they let us skips floors 9 and 10, I knew this was coming. 😒
..Xilonen kicks the skulls down in 3 hits, you can get two per skill if you're quick?
@maevethefox5912 I didn't realize your supposed to attack the skulls, I went back and retried it earlier... 😅
Used
First half:Neuvi , Furina , Kazuha , Xilonen
Second half: Hu tao , Yelan , Xingqui , Zhongli .
No, the abyss isn't too hard, you're the bad ones, I'm f2p and I didn't have that much trouble getting 36 stars.
it's a children's game, for god's sake.
yeah. just need to have specific characters/weapon type for this abyss.
I’m interested in your ideas about the current abyss tho.
this abyss felt less like a challenge to me, and more akin to a torture chamber
I quite liked this abyss for adding in some challenge, but I understand why people with less expanded accounts wouldn’t.
If they don’t want to change tactics, giving just a bit more time or allowing us to restart from the second half of a chamber or a certain chamber in a floor would help make the Abyss a lot less aggravating.
i honestly didn’t find this abyss that difficult and cleared it first try. i used neuv, xiangling, kazuha and xilonen first half and hu tao xq yelan and zhongli second half. if you break those pyro things the goldenflame tyrant places it goes into enough range for neuv to break the shield. xq and yelan have enough elemental application for the pipilla. xilonen can easily deal with the geo check for the golden wolflord
guess im the only one that enjoys the abyss finally being slightly harder than tutorial level easy...
It's hilarious that people complain about Mauvika not being more overpowered, but also complain about abyss difficulty increasing rapidly.
