Hey so I’m getting a leak from the oil cooler it’s like repetitive drops of coolant I checked the gasket and it’s in perfect conditions what can it be?
@@alwx_. if you replaced the gasket with a brand new one try adding a little bit of Honda bond to it so it help to seal it and to keep it in place and it don’t come off the grove when you are putting the oil cooler onto the block some times it will come off the groove with out you noticing and pinch the gasket and create a leak. Just add Honda bond to the groove then put the gasket on top of the Honda bond so it doesn’t fall off.
@@user-om4hv2dg1w I would inspect the hoses really good make sure it doesn’t have any hair line cracks cause under pressure them hoses would expand and make them leak. Are they leaking all the time or only after you drive and then park the car?
@@user-om4hv2dg1w well if it’s coming from where the oil cooler joins with the block then change the gasket cause that’s the only thing in between there. K24 don’t come with oil coolers from factory unless it’s the newer SI MODEL K24 I believe so if you installed the oil cooler it is possible that the gasket could’ve gotten pinched and not sealed properly. If you do go ahead and change the gasket go ahead and put some Honda bond on the gasket so it stocked to the oil cooler so it doesn’t fall off the cooler when you go to install it. GOOD LUCK.

@@alwx_. also make sure you torque it to 54 ft lbs.
@@wisin_k20 haha yeah I tried that I even tried putting hondabond on the rim of oil cooler and it was still leaking
@@alwx_. damn I’m sorry to hear that. Don’t know what else to have you check without being there personally.
@@wisin_k20 haha yeah im just going to delete it for the meantime until I go turbo on my other k-series I’m building on the side
Might sound like a dumb question.
But which of the two hoses has oil running through them ? (Connecting to oil cooler)
Both or none ?(only coolant ?)
It’s only coolant
Got it! Thanks
Also replacing gasket and hoses on oil cooler , I would have to flush both oil and coolant?
@@joseraya8998 yea. I would just add new oil and coolant.
Can coolant get into the oil if the oil cooler is broken?
@@user-zm9ze9dd8j it might be possible I’m not 100 % certain but it could possibly happen if it is damaged.
What socket size did you use for the center bolt? And do you know if it's the same size for a 93 accord se?
I used a 30mm socket. Not sure on the accords.
how did you remove the threaded sleeve where the oil filter screw onto? If I use the vice grip, I will destroy it.
I use vise grip it’s not on there tight at all.
How did you remove the oil filter stud off the k24?
I just grabbed it with vise grip’s and twisted it off it’s not on there that tight.
My k24 is leaking antifreeze out of the oil cooler you can it be a bad gasket?
Have you checked the 2 hoses? The coolant runs through there.
@@wisin_k20 yea there tight it’s just weird cuz I never had an issue with that so idk if it’s the gasket cuz it’s pissing out

@@user-om4hv2dg1w I don’t think it would be the gasket because I believe it’s oil that circulates through there.
