I've looked into Hinduism and Buddhism, my take on their view as far as their main topic was on inner peace and harmony within the chaos of the world and how to get there. Hinduism has the Kundalini, which to my understanding requires for you to refrain during the act to fully experience the moment of union.
Of course you love his voice. Alan loved to think and talk. So naturally, you love his voice. His voice is simply one aspect of his actually living his philosophy. It is his authentic expression. Find yours.
What you express here is the fear that holds most of us back… what I have found is that it liberates one from chasing quick fixes through bad decisions
The bible doesn't say sex within the marriage arrangement is wrong or bad at all. Any scholarly writing outside of the bible on sex is merely an opinion but if you believe the bible is of value or God backed than sex within the marriage arrangement is perfectly acceptable.
Paul clearly states that for Christians, procreative marriage is an inferior and unpreferred option to celibacy. He recommends it not as a good in itself but only as a remedy for lust.
So if you would be alone, wouldn't you tried to make a some sort of friend? Like from old ball with smile face on it? To be a god could be not so cool as we see it...
It's not just Western culture that's hung up on sex. Chinese and Japanese and Taiwanese culture are too. For sure. But Alan Watts tried to make all Eastern cultures sound good and free of flaws. Too biased and one sided.
@@BrianForTheWin Watts was a philandering sophist as well an alcoholic and his followers are wealthy/bourgeois, vacuous egoists - who's 'stepping on a rake' again?
That which you love, if you truly love, you set free. True love does not bind, it frees.
Always much Love to all that send and those that view these wonderful moments

Thank you for not putting in highly distracting background noises
What, like sex noises?

All I can say about sexuality and spirituality is ~ thank you, Great Goddess
This one was new to me, and I’ve listened to ol’ Alan for years. What is the entirety of the talk called?
Quite the treat this!

Kundalini can happen without sexual contact

❤ Judaism. The view is utterly different, from Christianity 🎉it is a celebration between man and wife. In a nutshell❤ Jackie Israel
In the words of John Waters;" Thank god I was born Catholic that way sex will always be dirty!"
❤
Yes yes yes!!!
As Molly bloom said❤❤❤
but isnt the problem with this that if one lets go too much to the present, one may do too risky stuff, like get addicted to opioids or something?
Balance. And to get and keep balance you need control.

4:46 Why sex is the top of pleasure. This is not only for Christianity.
Sounds like chasing the dragon. 😢 Addiction. That's what chasing pleasure is. Sad.

The bible is FICTION!
Not in today's bible. He said in old bible it was always wrong. But in marriage they are ok with it, but mostly preached to avoid it.
Paul clearly states that for Christians, procreative marriage is an inferior and unpreferred option to celibacy. He recommends it not as a good in itself but only as a remedy for lust.

I feel like things have certainly changed in all cultures since Alan was alive and was giving these talks...
But he doesn't speak on eastern culters here.

He mentions exactly this issue five minutes in tho ...
But I wonder if Eastern culture was at first impressed upon by Western Puritanism?
A philandering sophist would be an expert.
In insults I express only my own insecurity.
@@BrianForTheWin I am beyond sick of 'secure' (smug and self-satisfied) egos that get off on this and their own sophistry.
@@williamoarlock8634 Well don’t be a stranger. Watching someone continue stepping on a rake they know is there is always good entertainment.
