Thank you so much for these videos I've recently been diagnosed at 30 in America. And there's not a lot of resources for Americans in this area and these videos have been a huge benefit my psychologist also really loved that I'm learning about my self and others like me from these videos and the fact that a lot of stuff does help me. Thank you sir for making these and helping everyone in the world by explaining in great detail in a understandable manner.

Just found this, but, I operate on "me" time, so I found this about 3 years before you uploaded it. Anyhow, you make a lot of great points, but, a big problem that I have is that I hyperfocus but am also pretty distractable. And tend to procrastinate. And forget things.

Hi Dan, with Christmas hurtling towards us like an out of control asteroid, I am getting absolutely terrified and REALLY REALLY anxious and irritable. Too much to do, too much pressure and too many demands on my time. I'm making lists and lists and seriously on the verge of a massive meltdown!!!!!!!

It fills me so much relief to see videos like this- I've always had horrible time management, or rather, I've always found it difficult and upsetting to try to cope with things at times. It's growing more stressful now as I'm doing my GCSES- and I of course need to revise- but I also end up getting home and crashing from mocks. Videos like this help me feel more legitimate in my difficulty- still waiting for Asperger's diagnosis, but either way- it's still relevant to me! 😊

I bought a Samsung Galaxy Watch and everything on the wrist, even take telephone calls on the wrist. Lists, reminders, calendar, voice memos, timers. This thing is amazing, it helps me not overcook and burn food, tumble dryer. Works with Android and iOS. This has really helped me.

SaveMyTime is a very helpful app that makes you log in what you're doing every time you check your phone, and it compiles the data into a pie chart. Great to visualize where your time is going. Helps me notice if I'm spending too much time on my phone and not enough taking care of myself, socializing, or being productive.

An app that I have found super helpful is called Habitica. I struggle finding motivation or even remember to do the things I need to get done, and this app combines gaming and productivity. You have to be careful though, because it can also become a source of distraction, but it has been the only thing where I feel rewarded for completing tasks, and therefore, more likely to do them. You gain experience for working on habits, completing daily tasks (like remembering to take my vitamins), and working on a to-do list. You can join others to fight bosses if you want and have people to hold you accountable for your tasks or you can save up gold to buy pets. You can even add your own rewards if you want to work towards something. I highly recommend if you're into gaming. :)

Get rid of them because they don’t understand me and I don’t understand them I want friends but it don’t work like that for me so I need to get into video games any suggestions on best video game to start with I could gooohle it myself but I’m trying to a good social person instead and I will google it afterwards in case your wondering and TH-cam too

Thanks Dan, I really needed that. Especially the bit about always being late. I never call in sick and I'm good at what I do, often staying late when I have my teeth into a tech problem, so it is tolerated - but I'd much rather be on time. My fiancé and I have a shared calendar and he's a big help in reminding me about important events too! Distractions are the thing that really drive me insane. Emails, instant messages, desk and mobile phones can all go off at once. We have a system where a problem should be logged, so my solution is to attend to what gets logged and emergencies then ignore the rest or I would be a basket case.

      @Irene-gq4jr 5 ปีที่แล้ว

@@wisdom-fairy3550 thank you for caring. To be honest I rarely get (physically) sick and the routine of going to work is good for my state of mind. I really love my job and my colleagues, which also helps. Occasionally I have a run and hide day, but they are few and far between, and on those days I usually work from home (the kind of work I do allows for this). I'm sorry you had such a bad time that you felt like this, I hope it passed soon enough and you aren't troubled that way too often.

Lists are everything for me! And here is one cool tip I've learned: Since I'm easily distracted by my own thoughts, especially while reading and learning, I write down every single thing I wanted to do. Like oh I should check this on Amazon or oh I forgot to put milk in the fridge. I just write it down and do it later instead of doing it right away in the middle of the process. Another helpful thing is to tell myself, that I'm going to do something like cleaning my space just for ten minutes. So it's easy to start and usually I would do it longer than ten minutes. It's just like you said, a productivity snowball

Lists are a bit of a sticking point for me. I will try to make them at the start of some days but I list too many things and add too many branches/nested tasks. The making of the list itself becomes a long stressful task and if I finish it it looks too daunting to attempt. Adding time limits for things would make it even worse for me; I get bad anxiety about time limits, even if it's way more time than I would need to complete the task. And if I miss a time limit for a single thing I feel like the entire thing's wrecked and there's no point trying anymore.
These are my own personal problems though (not a general problem with the suggestion of making lists) and something I'm working on, trying to list only up to five things at a time.
Good video though and thanks for sharing. I've subscribed.

I am myself sooooo terribly bad with time management. The only time I am really on time is when I drive to work. I am ALWAYS on schedule. But every other time it's like really really really close. Whoops. Always stressed out when this happens.
There are so many distractions at work... I am a trainee in media design (specialising web design, but also print) and therefore it's really hard not to get distracted by my boss or coworkers.. there's always something going on that needs to be done like RIGHT NOW and at best yesterday lol. So it's really hard to focus on my task, 'cause there's always another one coming right in or a phone call from a customer I need to answer. When this happens I struggle a lot with getting back on the actual task and so I need a LOT more time than I actually would have. So frustrating!

I have aspergers, but I was just diagnosed, I spent my life being misdiagnosed and it is probably a very common situation, specially for women. When I was going through the assessment I was told I had Oppositional Defiant Disorder too, so it is very difficult to do some tasks, for example, if I was going to do the dishes anyway but someone tells me to do the dishes I just can't do it or at least I will wait as long as possible to do it, it is like that when someone tells me to read a certain book too, even if it was a book that I wanted to read I won't do it anymore, sometimes I wait for years to read or see something that was recommended to me when this happens. It was worst when I was a child, but now is like I split in two and fight with myself to do it. Does anyone have a problem with that too? And I don't know if this has any part on it, but if I set some tasks like that, listing or using an app, after I write something down I won't forget it anymore, so I keep checking and it makes me very anxious and I am not very good with apps so I think they will fail me and like that an appointment to have coffee with a friend becomes something stressful. I don't know anyone with aspergers, I don't know if that is common or not or if there is a better way to deal with that. Any tips?

I'm not really a fan of the show, I watched the first couple of series when it was a relatively new concept but now they just seem to be constantly chucking it out year after year after year and I actually find it quite monotonous now. I might tune in once I've finished watching that nail in the fence going rusty 🤣🤣🤣

My problem is that I have way too much time on my hands and too much boredom. I have barely any structure. My counselor and I worked on a schedule but for some reason I stopped following it.

I can get distracted almost everytime and I still coplete tasks at hand, given to I am a multi-tasker. I try not to come off as a rude person, though it would not hurt if I had explained to someone that I have an important assignment due at a certain time.

@@TheAspieWorld the fact that you handle life so well inspires me. I'm in the military (plz don't judge, you and I probably agree more on politics than you could imagine). As you may also imagine... it's not exactly the most ideal place to work because of obvious reasons, but it's also really great for me because there are set rules, regulations, and instructions that are very black and white so I know exactly what to do, when, and where. That part is how I've thrived to rank up very quickly. Though of course, the camaraderie thing, I'm definitely not the best at. I've got ADHD and social anxiety, both diagnosed by military doctors and I'm not necessarily "pursuing" a diagnosis of autism, but everyone who knows me knows I'm at least on the spectrum and it would be a really cool thing to be able to explain why I'm the way I am. You rock.
