Hey everyone, if you want to see more videos like this, giving it a like and commenting can help out a great deal. Have a great weekend and as always, thanks for watching!
Todd Howard mentioned in an ign interview that the NCR is a large faction that holds many areas around California. So I think not all of the NCR is gone, just in the region around Shady Sands. And we'll see them more in season 2.
Yea I never got why soany fans are getting mad acting like the NCR is completely eradicated They're the largest nation in the post apocalypse Obviously a city of tens of thousands isn't the entirety of the NCR
@@truthspeaks6557 Do you not follow the lore at all? They’ve indicated its a huge faction multiple times lol..its also mentioned in fallout 1 and 2? They have a population of about 2 million people and 7,000 soldiers spaced all over California. The NCR was never gone or weakened so idk where this is coming from in the show makes no sense sounds like they’re making up there own stories. If anything the population should be booming with 2 million ppl considering the show takes place after all the games and no catastrophic events happened it just doesnt make sense
Just a small point to note, in the intro you mentioned that Doc Mitchell rescued the Courier. But it's Victor who rescued the Courier and took them to Doc Mitchell. Wanted to mention that because it was Mr House through Victor who led the Courier on this path. Loved the video though! Keep up the good work.
I also thought it NV most likely ends with the House ending because of his casting. I can't see them using the actor only once. Maybe House is dead and the actor will only be seen in more flashbacks, but I think they'll go with the House ending to build up the House mystique that may not be apparent to viewers who haven't played the games.
Idk why everyone thinks shady sands was the end all be all for the NCR. The show never said the NCR was finished and Mauldaver wasn’t the leader of the NCR and it seemed more like she and her group of people were just a small survival faction.
Yeah I don't think Shady Sands was the end of the NCR. I think it could have been just a small part of their downfall (if that is in fact the case). It could also be just a more localized problem like you're saying. It remains to be seen!
For those who played fallout 1 and 2, shady sands was principally associated with the NCR and the first town most players had the vault dweller save, and then you saw Tandi again in fallout 2. It’s very clearly not the sole city in the NCR but for casual peeps bombing it personifies “oh the NCR fell on hard timesl
In the show it did show it was the HQ of NCR so I believe it was basically the HQ base that got destroyed but probably there's some small factions around the HQ
If I'm remembering the story in New Vegas correctly, NCR was on its way to a collapse due to a classic Malthusian trap. Could be that after Shady Sands was destroyed (where the main government was presumably located), the power vacuum led to NCR fracturing with Brahmin Barons and families like Van Graff, Bishop, etc. turning into regional warlords
Notice how no lights are on at the end of the show but every view of new vegas in the game is lit up? I think the cannon ending is where house was defeated and the strip blows up.
The strip blows up in one of the endings? I know if the NCR wins they just take control of the strip. Is it the Legion that blows up the strip or if you help the Omertàs with their plot?
It was daylight. The lights aren't on during the day. ALSO in the credits we see a crashed NCR vertibird which supports the idea that the NCR did come back for the Strip like General Oliver threatened.
This video makes me keenly and painfully aware of how much I sped thru my first and only playthrough of NV. At the end of the day tho, I'd still make the same choice: Mr. House Simp thru and true. And I'm all in for a heavily NV focused S2 of the show.
Out of all the characters I think the ones that make the most sense are Arcade and Veronica both need to be in like a Followers of the apocalypse refugee camp that was established after the strip was attacked if that is the direction they are going in the show
@@froggyspond1133 I have this like incredibly long theory that you’re actually a bad guy in new Vegas and my theory really hangs on how Ulysses and Benny interact with you in the game and my fan boy heart just wants it to be true so bad haha. Seeing new Vegas in shambles at the end on season 1 gave me the false hope I don’t need 😂
@@TheMikeyP_ i mean honestly? That would be absolutely fascinating. Maybe you went with an independent new Vegas but the courier was eventually corrupted as is tradition in the wasteland, or better yet, he did go the independent route, but either yes man turned on the courier once being put in power and/or you’re absolutely right and the courier is just a mass murdering war criminal, who was able to fool everyone and then ruin new Vegas for his own means. I like the idea bro.
I think it'd be an interesting possibility for Graham to somewhat "rehabilitate" Cooper. Not to pacify him, of course. Not even to show him the difference between purposeful and purposeless violence. Most of what Cooper does has a reason already. But just to give him that little hint that could steer him towards a new purpose. Make him think a little differently for a bit anyway. I think it'd be a good temporary bright point in his life. Kinda like Negan from TWD... right before that show lost my interest the last time 😂 (Edit, would also be cool if he could be dubbed or portrayed by the original VA)
Or maybe Graham just reminds him of something from Cooper's prewar years that sorta makes everything click for him, yknow? Gives new perspective, lets him come to terms with himself in a new way, whatever. Long as it ain't no Kumbayah stuff. For that is not the way of the malpase legate.
My guess ,NCR lost the battle for the hoover and Ceasar charged on to new Vegas and the city was lost (obviously) Mr House may be still alive and season 2 will orbit between him and the Caesar Legion
there was a super mutant in the show!!! watch when dr wilzig leaves the enclave you can see one on a stretcher w his hand sticking out, just a neat lil detail you mighta missed
Perhaps it removes a little sense of mystery. However, I think what is lost will be made up for by a deeper understanding in the significance of what shows up on screen. Plus, I have a feeling the show writers will throw a few curve balls at us by the time all is said and done.
@ItsShatter True, see I went into the show with basically only a gameplay knowledge of Fallout 3. So I was thrown for a loop on everything about the vaults secert motives.
Not really, the game only ends one of four ways, and if the show takes place 15 years after the games timeline it gives the writers just enough wiggle room to work with. But one of the factions have to be in power, I think they are going to with the NRC being in power, because it would give them a good foothold, money and resources to regroup in the future and it would expand how they still have a influence.
I’m honestly shocked at how well received the fallout tv show has been. Tones of plot holes and characters just running into each other randomly 😂 To each their own I guess
I hope we get to see Marcus and the mutants at jacobstown and maybe it’s just Mr. house left. Alone. Insane. Left there in his tube to rot alone for eternity as a computer
@@corypowercat7277 yeah idk it seems to be pretty good so we’ll see. I really hope Mr house is still there all his securitrons destroyed by ncr / they destroyed each other and house is just there in his tube. Alone. Not able to control anything just crazy as fuck
With the story of synth’s in fallout 4, and Mr House is just basically a computer, would love to see that man get a synth body. At least he defended where he lived during the war
Wouldn't House have to be a Syth or Clone as he appears in the show to be healthy? His condition in NV was obviously poor. Not that he couldn't upload his conscious ... he was already downloaded to a computer. lol....Victor saves him when the fall of NV happens.... He was Rich, they can say House always had an escape plan... But it kind of closes/explains what happened to NV for the continuing story of Fall Out ... Just a thought... Very Good Video
On one hand it makes sense for New Vegas to fall. On the other hand I can't forget the reason the showrunners reset the West Coast in an interview. I like the (possible) in lore reason but hate the real life reason it fell apart.
My only fear for season 2 of the tv show is that they continue this sort of destructive path of the factions of previous non Bethesda games. We already saw in season 1 the area around Hollywood was lacking the NCR presence due to the destruction of Shady Sands. Fallout 1 took place in that area and they kinda wiped the factions clean or more so in that area. In season 2, we see New Vegas, an area from Fallout New Vegas, looks deserted. If there was a war as described in this video then again, a previous area from the games is wiped clean for the show to introduce new lore. I am not against new lore, factions and stories as long as it’s not at the expense of previous established lore, factions and stories.
hope you see this and might be behind in the tv theory but watching this i think we killed house in the show and then we launched the nukes in lonesome road that took out shady sands ulysses wanted to strike at the heart of the NCR and the legion
I did a 100% run, including all DLCs, all companion quests, all skill books, all map locations, and ignored the main story until well after level 50 - ended around December of 2282

We dont have a down fall we have a set back in the show why they so weak is bc of shady sands where most troopers and the rest is in their own locations and citys we NCR aint dead
So as far as the boomers go I think that if there was a big battle at new Vegas they likely would have been dragged into it and either wiped out of scattered. That’s my thoughts anyways.
Didn’t really like Fallout compared to Elder Scrolls as a kid. Seemed lame. Only because I was a kid and all the political stuff went over my head. The lore and the world is so RIPE! Makes you daydream
I don't understand the pedestal of New Vegas. It has the dumbest major faction in all of Fallout. The Legion is just moronic writing. Such a good game... But the hit-boxes are worse than FO3, the gunplay is inept, and the entire idea of the Legion is just lazy writing. It breaks all immersion. A guy made an army of slaves. Ummm.. okay. Heck, any one of the ridiculous Nuka World raider factions has more foundational lore, and shows exponentially more effort in logic. The Legion killed New Vegas for me. It's just so dumb. *edit. Not the game itself.. Just the Legion.... which kind of ruins the plot and stakes.
