I don't think snowmobilers are too worried about the smoke and smell of their sled because some of them are smokers themselves on the trails when I see them on the side of a trail. 😮
Not being a hater and I know the sled is not for the public but... Those numbers are not very impressive. 31 mile range 37 mph top speed Maybe they are keeping it unimpressive for a reason?
I reckon the tour operators have zero interest in paying extra money for range they don't need, while making the sled heavier and harder to operate for the inexperienced users. But perhaps you can enlighten us with other possible reasons?
@@pajamatime5750 It's clearly enough, or the tour operators wouldn't have bought them, now would they? It's not like ski-doo or anyone else doesn't know how to increase the range on a EV...
Two things needs to happen for these to really take off with tour operators: 1. Charging infrastructure issues need to be addressed. In the U.S., many tours happen on either Forest Service or Park Service lands. The base facilities might not always have reliable power in the winter, or sufficient amperage to handle a fleet worth of charging load. 2. The 10%-80% charge time needs to improve, big time. The way tour times are often stacked, some operators would need to greatly increase their fleet size, in order to keep operating while sleds charge.
Primarily for the resort/rental world anyway, dont get your panties in a twist my fellow N/A dudes, not all of us is going to afford a 15 grand battery replacement so *most regular people wont be getting this
it'll take many years to get power denisty in a battery for mass consumer E sleds. cool idea but still a very long ways away from mass adoption or even meeting needs of the market
Taiga is the leader in this space and it will be difficult for the other manufacturers to catch up. Taiga has a major head start and will continue to improve range. SkiDoo is dipping their toe in the space with this underperformer because they lack the technology of Taiga.
@@airman6822 why would you think bombardier would “go broke” because one of their new sleds was for a niche market? Lol do you really think BRP is that likely to fail and struggling that much to remain a profitable company? I can tell you with out a doubt, they wouldn’t go broke even if this thing was a total flop and they didn’t even sell 1.
A 50km tour for someone who is trying a snowmobile for the first time is a long ride. Keep in mind that this sled is targeting tour operators and like it or not, that's who they're taking on these rides. This sled was not designed for you.
I get this thing is built for a very specific purpose….so why call it a Grand Touring at all? Doesn’t fit the sled at all. Maybe the Grand Tourist? Lol
Why don't they put a generator build into the sled so it could recharge itself why'll you operate it i dont understand why this is not a thing . That way you don't have to charge the snowmobile at all . Looks to me the rich people not want at generator build into these vechicals. To much money to be made unbelieveable and stupid to me .
Easy, easy. They’re just covering what’s out there!! Don’t panic the season is just starting and we’ll, without a doubt, have great reviews of the stuff people like! It’s nice to see a review of everything that’s out there! If ya don’t like electric sleds - don’t watch!
Why would a manufacture not use already general industry proven Lithium ion battery power and brushless motor technology......They also need to rephrase zero emissions. Electricity isnt always zero emissions.
I am interested in purchasing a pair of electric snowmobiles, electric pwcs, and an electric sxs in a few years.
Would love to see some pictures of inside the unit the motor the batteries how things our laid out👍
The 600Ace is perfect for this application I’d think.
I see a video from Snowtrax I click like…. Simple as that!!!
Appreciate you 👊💥🎉
So awesome they are already getting started on electric snowmobiles. I hope the advancements come really fast and I can stop buying gas sleds someday.
Can this be the last electric sled coverage for this winter?
Please?
There really isn't any other e-sleds anyway
Probably. 😆

If you really want to enjoy Nature, get some Nordic Skis..
Why would you not want those ultra low friction ski's and hyfax on a ICE sled?
The hyfax has existed for years, don’t know about the skis. Maybe worse handling?
You can use a short Track if you move the whole skid farther back .. that would leave room for more batteries..
I rented a Skidoo near Whistler BC, I was on a Ski Trip to Whistler. My Ski Clothes sure did Reak of cheap two stroke oil after a 4 hour trip.

50k range at best. You've got to be kidding
Not the sled for you, but taking a bunch of newbies into the park at Yellowstone, this thing would be great.
Itsnot for you bud ,so don't worry about it
Looks like taiga is up the creek now

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.
