What a lovely lady and I can just see and feel the love that house must have felt. Thanks for sharing it, such beautiful memories.❤ R.I.P. Johnsie Ruth Gambill McIntyre....🙏🏼 and thanks for your memories.

I just found you a few days ago… Subbed and am enjoying catching up. It makes me sad to see all of these old home places, so chock-full of history and memories, disappearing.. To listen to someone’s stories as they recount memories from half a century old, or more, then see at the end of the video just brings tears to my eyes. I get choked up seeing old black&white videos of civil war veterans, also.. Such a hard, but fine time to live…

Thank you very much...... It does strike me as sad...... As a carpenter I would love to buy an old house like that and fix it up bring it back to life
Thank you for allowing these individual stories to be told, so sad to think their voices are silent now forever.

Lordy, I wish I could have known this woman...pole a boat across the river? I've poked one in the French Broad and it wasn't easy...remarkable
She was a remarkable woman in so many ways!
Star on out house was woman half moon men . That's what I was told (as well to vent)
Very interesting that she had to tow a boat across the river to go to school.
DOES ANYONE KNOW WHY THERE IS A HALFMOON ON THE DOOR OF THE BATHROOM???
