  • Finally got my Stelton 18" high velocity floor fan running again! I replaced the motor with a Mainstay capacitor 3 speed motor I purchased from eBay, everything worked out perfectly and was very happy to see it working after 3 years . This fan was given to me by my Grandfather sometime in 2020, the original motor failed and was finally able to save it. Will do some cosmic cleaning including a service in the next video I post . Enjoy!

I was unaware that the motor had failed but I was aware that the switch and capacitor were missing. What is the root cause of the failure? Overheating, shorted out, or bearing problems? I would love to upcycle that motor. FYI that new motor is not a motor that is used for Mainstays fans made by Jiangmen Keye.
Edit: After further watching it appears to be locked up. Also, the new motor appears to be ball bearings, so it should last you many many years.

Thanks for letting me know. There's already a video prior to this where I clearly explained what led to the failure of the previous motor, and sorry no I don't want to do any transactions I'd rather hold on to the original motor. Thanks for watching.
