Incredible transition from the Martin to the Les Paul. The sound engineers must also be recognized….Flawless, as you can hear every individual instrument.
Not just hear but FEEL! the stroke, peal and wavering of every note is like a physical sensation - quite magnificent and rare to capture and transfer that throughout an entire performance. The song itself is so full and melodious - the rhythm, tones and pacing musically and vocally are perfectly "in-pocket". THIS is an honest-to-goodness, definitive SONG - if anyone ever needed to understand what one truly is. Brilliance.
Saw them at Hangout Fest for the first time in 2014. Seen them 4 more times live since then. Sound great live and I always find myself listening to them even when I think I've found a new band to listen to. Incredible group
@@guyfawkesistaken Perhaps that's because there's nothing sadder than a streetlight shining on an empty stretch of sidewalk. Better vaccinated that it being too late now.
unreal. the energy in this (very sad) song must've been so hard to develop. the things said just don't lend themselves to an arrangement like this. this is truly an incredible song and version of the song.
Taylor is one of those delightful guitarists who will play an absolutely sick solo while making faces like he himself is shocked by what is coming out of his instrument
I learned to love this guy when I first heard "My Way Back Home." I didn't understand where he came from or where he fit into the "contemporary" rock-type music, which I had long ago rejected as beyond comprehension. It seemed musicians and singers had abandoned music for noise and screech and extravaganza. Now I hear "Somewhere Along the Way" and realize I didn't have to abandon all similar music that managed to still be music and have meaning with all the hype and hoopla. Thank you guys for my rebirth! You have touched this old lady's inner emotions.
Huge fan!! Taylor's voice is starting to get just a slight bit of age/soul in it that I really enjoy. Meant as a compliment...have always had it from the get go
I mean this as a compliment, because Dawes are always top tier just in general, but something about your vocals here seems to be channeling our late great Chris Cornell. I’m always blown away by you boys, and the solo is *Chef’s kiss *
It's like a practical, sonic explanation of just why that's such a singular and seminal Instrument in contemporary Music, for all the "advances" and gimmicks and gadgets since its emergence. Its conversational and character qualities are just vital and in the right hands Magical.
Taylor, these are some of the most accurate and honest complex words ever smithed. Never have I heard such a perfect description with combined melody. But its the words that are unapologetically accurate and in most cases sympathetic to a lot of people, especially me. This song helped me push through brother...... I would love to hear the story behind this song. The depth to it can not be measured.
I was so bummed when I saw where my seats were when I saw you guys at the Ryman earlier this year...couldn't see Griffin at all from my seats. One of my favorite drummers. Such a great band, and that was an AWESOME show though.
Good Morning You tube world, WTF?!? This band is amazing and maybe the best band from the 70s that started playing in the 2000s....can we get some more views here?!? Thanks and have a great day.
To my ears there is a lot more high end across the board in this mix compared to the original. I agree that it's an improvement for almost every element with the exception of the acoustic and Taylor's lead after he turns on whatever boost he's using. I really prefer this drum sound over the original.
Wish Jackson Browne would do a 8 song album with you guys as his band with some cool painting as the artwork just like it was 1974 again.ha. Love this version of the song. Killer solo bro.

Performances like this one is exactly why I so badly want to see this band live. They always sound so good.
It's a shame they require proof of vaccination.
@@guyfawkesistaken On the contrary. It's a badge of respect on their part, and deeply appreciated by my large and growing family of Dawes fans.
Make it happen - I found them by accident, live, in 2011, and I've caught them about 8 times since then. They're insane live.

If there was a perfectly played song this is it...amazing
What a wonderful thing to be creating and putting art like this into the world. THANK YOU ALL.
Perfectly said!!!! This is incredible…
Taylor Goldsmith is a national treasure.
Excited about the 'Live from the Rooftop' album!
Love the guitar interplay!
Kickass band. I’m impressed
My favorite part of every performance is watching Taylor love the music.
These lyrics are so gut wrenching and gorgeous at the same time just a clinic in songwriting 🙌
There lyrics always seem to be.
Hell yes guys! Hell yes.
Such superb lyrics - well done!
That solo..... wow epic.
Lyrically perfect
Beautifully written and beautifully played. Bravo, Boys!
My. Goodness. 😱👏👏👏
That is all.
Taylor is one of my favorite songwriters.
One of my favorite songs. Great version!
I love dawes!
What a knock out performance of my favorite Dawes song. The extra improvisations are killer.

This is as good as it gets. Just fantastic!
Been following them since North Hills. So proud to be a fan, pure quality.
Oh those boys are one of my favourites acts since I first listened to them
The sounds of the pedal click at 6:31 is the realest sound. 💆♂️
This is just stunning
This show was top-notch!
Marvelous!

Amazing playing and THE BEST voices ever ☺️
Thanks so much 🎶❤️👍
Powerful
That breakdown and build back up... it gets me overtime.
Gets me every time, too. And I’ve listened to this a lot, plus shared it a lot.
Wow. After all theses years y'all still sound GREAT! Loved the guitar duet at the end. Bravo!
dammmmmm that is great !!!!!!!
you had me at the first chord
Such a good sounding and awesome band
Absolute magic !!!! Great live sound and a really well balanced mix . Loved every second . Bravo
Epic performance !!
Griffin is the best band drummer on the planet.
One fine LIVE recording! BRAVO!
Taylor we need to see you on tour somewhere sir🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Love this song - see you in Boston 3/17/23
Nostalgic and beautiful.
Great production!
Stunning video

underrated comment.
Damn, Lee is just crushing it, and then Taylor puts on the LP and forGET IT.

Love this song it speaks to me

ahhhh. Lovely
one of me favorites - perfect rendering guys
Sounds very good
Greatest song of my favourite band! You rock, guys! Please come to Brazil!
Good Morning You tube world, WTF?!? This band is amazing and maybe the best band from the 70s that started playing in the 2000s....can we get some more views here?!? Thanks and have a great day.
Well hot damn 🔥🔥🔥👏
Immer wieder ein Hochgenuss!!!
Brilliant as always my favourite Dawes Track but still sounds better with your Telecaster Taylor LOL
This mix sounds better than the original.
have to disagree with that... the sound was off with this version.... Taylor's voice was drowned out by the music

Clear and crisp as always. Voice...then the rest. Thanks
Sounds awesome! Good to hear a fellow keys player, good stuff!

Love this version of the song. Killer solo bro.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
thank you.
❤️
Fabulous - when are you coming to Australia?
Come to Europe pls!
Fuji rock. Looking forward
They sound so Good. I love the lack
Of over-production. I wonder how much, if any, impact playing with Phil Leah had on their playing.
Giving the Beatles' rooftop a run for their money...
Thank you @Iggy94 💜
Can you buy the full video of this concert anywhere? If not, can you please make it a possibility?
🙂👍
My favorite thing about Taylor is that he looks like he could do my taxes but then rip a face melting solo after he's done with that.
Where can we watch the entire concert? DVD?
Griffin looks legit crazy at 3:50
A cautionary tale about those girls.
Curious when this was recorded. How long were you not able to play together?
What is the electric that Taylor plays in this?
First :)
Mandy has a type lol
One lucky dude pulling a woman like her😂😂🙏🏻🙏🏻
Isn’t this Mandy Moore hubby tho lol
