If you complete the towers for Smoke, in his movie at the end, *SPOLER ALERT*, reveals that he finds a kid whom he trains under the Shirae Ryu & says the kids name is Hanzo Hasashi. So technically Hanzo is like 15 or something.

Not to be the "well actually" guy, but...well, actually, the Scorpion ending is him and Smoke escaping the Lin Kuei and setting up a new group, the Shirai Ryu, named in honor of Scorpion's new wife/lover Shirai. It's in Smoke's ending we see Hanzo, as they are struggling to find initiates for their new clan when Smoke is attacked in their compound. He bests the attacker, learning It's a kid named Hanzo Hisashi, who becomes the first initiate of the Shirai Ryu.

I believe Takeda is the Grandmaster title for the Shi-rai Ryo, since Takeda Takahashi around 1200-1300 A.D. was the first who established this branch of Shadow Warriors, the name Takeda is to honor their founder for the years to come.
Remind that most Western fans do not know the pronunciation for Takeda is written in Mandarin as 武田(military/combat field) or 竹田 (Bamboo field) and his name is deeply associated with their main warrior sect 林鬼 (Lin Kuei meaning Forest Ghost/Demon). All to suggest they dedicate towards martial improvement and mysticism, except the Lin Kuei tend to focus more on combat efficiency hence their blind devotion for Cyber Initiative while the Shirai Ryu focus on improving martial prowess thru skill instead of self-mutilation.
That explains how the shirai ryu act like samurai sometime.

@@G0OG4No. He's just a DLC character. DLC characters don't affect the main story. Literally in the same kombat pack we have Omni man, homelander and peacemaker. Aftermath is the exception not the rule when it comes to cannon dlc characters

(SPOILERS) It's shown in Smoke's post credit story that he was attacked by a boy who wanted food and money, and then Smoke took him in to the Shirai Ryu, and it's revealed that the boy is Hanzo Hasashi.
People acting like they cant bring back a cool character without him being part of the story... the logic of "the devs said the kombat kids aren't alive yet" doesn’t work because DLC characters are almost always nothing but fan service and just for show. If you wanna argue this can't be Takeda because in the story he's not alive yet, then you also must think Peacemaker, Omni-Man, and Homelander are part of the story, since you just stated the DLC character must be part of the story to exist.
(This isnt directed specifically at the TH-camr who posted this video, it's targeted at everyone I see in the comments who are using the argument that it can't be Takeda for that reason.)

Both Hanzo and Frost have been referenced in PVP intro dialogue banter as being new recruits in the Shirai Ryu and Lin Kuei, respectively. Also, Frost is a secondary Assist character in PVP mode.
MKX Takeda had the potential to be one of the strongest characters in MK. He inherited Kenshi’s abilities (which I think are god-tier) and grew up training under Hanzo and learning some of the Scorpion’s abilities as well.
Those 3 together were about as powerful a trio as anyone in MK who wasn’t a elder god could get

Saw some theory that Smoke is Hanzo, think it'd be cool if Takeda in the DLC pack is old Takeda, and Hanzo Smoke eventually dips the Lin Kuei and joins the Shirai Ryu. I don't think Takeda in MK1 is Hanzo because his history with Bi-Han and Kuai-Liang is way too important to the narrative of the series as a whole for him to just be a DLC character

@anonymousbo0318 they're reimaginings of the characters. Kuai-Liang isn't usually Scorpion but it's been confirmed that's who he is in MK1. Kung Lao had an American accent in MK11. Saying Smoke not having a Japanese accent means it's impossible for him to be Hanzo is stupid, especially if they're trying to hide the reveal. Takeda in the DLC trailer is clearly an older man, yet everyone revealed so far with the exception of Liu Kang are younger versions of themselves, so it'd be weird to not only make one of MK's MAIN fan favorite characters both be DLC exclusive and radically older than the entire rest of the roster

Too bad Hanzo is a teen at that time and that Kuai Liang founded the Shirai Ryu. I was hoping that Hanzo lives a peaceful life with his fam and ninja clan during that time. It doesn't even make sense for Kuai Liang to come up with this because he's Chinese and the Shirai Ryu are a Japanese ninja clan. Also, it would've been better for Kenshi to be with his wife and son Takeda and if he's needed for the tournament, then he could've been recruited that way and Takeda could be like 18 or 19 years old, giving it a way of introducing him as a Kombat Pack fighter. Kenshi should've been friends with Hanzo just like in MKX and teach him from a young age and give him to Hanzo to finish his training while he's gone.
From everything I've gathered:
1.Kuai will likely die by Bi-hans hand and will stay Sub. Hanzo, currently a kid, will train to become a new Scorpion following Kuais mantle trained by Smoke.
2. Bi-han, will likely get killed by Hanzo then become Noob. Cyrax and Sector are probably humans for now then later on will become the cyborgs we know them as.
3. I'm praying (incoming Headcanon), that we get a new Sub-zero. One that is out of the Sub and Noob dilemma (or Death spiral paradox) and is also trained by Smoke. Something bout "Grandmaster Smoke" sounds very, very good to me.

In the story, spoilers to those who are not familiar, Kuai Liang and Tomas, AKA Scorpion and Smoke, having created The Shirai Ryu as Earthrealm's protectors since the Lin Kuei are corrupt.
Hanzo gets found by Thomas in his mk1 ending. he's a teenager int his timeline and has jsut started his training in Kuai Liang's Shirai ryu and Shirai is Kuai Liang's wife in this timeline.
so I'm thinking the Takeda in the kombat pack is from another timeline since they've opened that can of worms up in mk1's ending.
Well the Kombat Kids are not born yet in the latest timeline.
But they did appear around the mid point of ascending the pyramid in the final battle, where Kitana sliced them up.
So this Takeda will either be the original founder of Shirai Ryu, or Takeda Takahashi... either way, from a different timeline.
Kuai Liang left the clan with smoke when Bi Han turned against earth realm. Liu Kang said they was starting the Shari Ryu and at the end of smokes story on the tower he was attacked by an assassin that they started training which was Hanzo. So unless “Takeda” ends up being Hanzo with a different name I’m not sure how they would spin that
Hanzo is in smokes ending. And all the endings seem to align together. Oddly all the endings for 11 appear to also be canonical because of multiple timelines.
The Hanzo in the MK1 timeline was found by smoke.
If you look at his eyes, they’re clearly aged. This isn’t a young kid, it’s an old man. So it’s likely an older takeda from an alternate timeline.
After all, the kombat pack also includes people like Homelander and peacemaker.
