@@katefuglestad9726 actually my answer is wrong it doesn’t obey the octet rule because it only has 3 valence electrons. It would be impossible to get 8 valance electrons in total with that few hydrogens. You can’t just add valance electrons you have to work with what they give you. That’s what it says on google, I was wrong before there are a few metals that follow the octet rule
If its still confusing search up my organic chem tutor for lewis structures. He explains why or where each element gets its electrons from. Or you my need a more into video explain the "rules." Regardless come back to this vid after cause I think this video really helped as well. Hope this helps and hope you understand :)
Learned more in 10 minutes than the last 2 months from my class….thank you so much!
thanks, this saved my chemistry exam from a C since i didn't know formal charge!
Does boron generally not follow the octet rule?
It’s not a non-metal so it doesn’t need 8
@@mcrsmash8319 Thank you!

@@mcrsmash8319 I really appreciate the update! You are so kind to help me with my question!
Is not there a wronginess in 5. lewis stricture , O is more electronegative it should be -1
Do you have worksheets for chemistry that we can download?
Thank you so much!!!
루이스 구조랑 형식전하 설명 감사합니다~ 들으면서 좀 이해되었어요 완전히는 아니지만...
