    Is everything the same on a 1999 Chrysler LHS 3.5? Ive got oil in my coolant, and overheating. I'm a paint and autobody technician and im thinking about tackling this myself after getting quotes to replace head gaskets. Thanks. Great video btw.

    This video is so helpful!! At 7:20 in the video you are taking off some coolant hoses...what is the piece they are connected to called? That metal piece in my 2003 concorde is rusted and leaking coolant. Trying to find the best way to replace that part, any help is greatly appreciated. Taking the time and having the patience to make content like this is incredible man!!

      I believe they call that the heater pipe. Just go to the parts store and say you need the heater pipe underneath the lower intake. Those things rust out all the time. The big box parts stores don't have it, rockauto.com might. If all else fails, the dealer will have it for sure.

      Thanks for the response and figured I would throw some parts numbers here for anyone stumbling across this. Looks like the official part # is 4792185AC and I picked mine up from www.moparpartsgiant.com/parts/mopar-tube-heater-feed~4792185ac.html. I did look at autozone for a replacement and they have a Dorman 626-311 HVAC Heater Pipe but was looking at reviews and people said they had to bend to fit (www.amazon.com/Dorman-626-311-HVAC-Heater-Assembly/dp/B00Z7O8TVG).
      On mine the issue looks to occur under high pressure around where the rivets are for the braces that come off the pipe. Thanks again for the help =)

    Hi, GREAT video!!! I´m from Argentina, and in my country this is a very rare car, so your video really helps me. Thanks for sharing. Today I remove the intake manifold to taking off the fuel injectors (sorry about my english..!), and I notice some oil coming out from inside the intake manifold. Is this normal in this engine? or is a sing of something else? The car runs great, powerfully and smooth, no smoke. Only I have an start issue regarding to a leaking fuel injector.
    Regards, Federico.

      Hello! I also had oil in my intake manifold. The most common cause for this a bad PCV valve. They are super cheap (at least in the US) so I would recommend just replacing it. It is located on the back of the upper intake. Not a super big issue though.

    • @berkeleygang1834
      @berkeleygang1834 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Very common. Change the PCV valve when you change the oil. I've also installed an oil separator, available at most tool places in the compressor and air tools area, in the line going tot the PCV valve. It helps, but there's no 100% solution. IMHO, a poor design by Chrysler.
      Now that I think about it, it's not a bad PCV valve. The PCV valve should be open when it's sucking air (and oil) from the valve cover. It closes if there's positive pressure in the intake plenum, such as during a backfire. It's not designed to keep oil out of the intake.

    I have to change a fuel injector on my 2002 300M. Can I pretty much skip all of video 1 In your tutorial to do so? I was looking for a video on how to get to fuel rail and I found what i was looking for in part 2. Just wanted to confirm my question before i went through with anything.

    I have 2001 Dodge Intrepid ES with the 3.2L can i use parts from the 3.5L because they both look like the same engine ?

    • @MattsMotorz
      @MattsMotorz  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are a lot of parts that you CAN do that with, but not all parts. They are both very similar but not 100% the same in all respects.

      Thanks for the info and fast reply. I have one more question. if i do a engine swap 3.2L to the 3.5L is that a easy swap and will i get more HP with the 3.5L HO from a 2001 300m ?

    • @MattsMotorz
      @MattsMotorz  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have never done that job personally so all I can do is speculate. I imagine that that should work out okay, but you will absolutely need to get a PCM that is for a 3.5L. You cannot use the one currently in the car. I imagine the transmission is all the same so I think that might be your biggest hurdle. And yes the 3.5 HO is much more powerful than the 3.2L.

    • @MattsMotorz
      @MattsMotorz  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I'd have to agree with you on that one. These aren't the best cars to work on. But they do have their upsides.

      MattsMotorz I've worked on worse! Congratulations on figuring out how to remove that pesky wiring harness. I had to replace the valve cover gaskets, and couldn't figure out how to get the harness out of the way. I barely had enough slack to get them out. I was real close to cutting and splicing the harness. I have to get back in to replace the spark plug tubes and the gaskets that go around them. Not looking forward to that job, but you gave me hope regarding that harness.

    • @MattsMotorz
      @MattsMotorz  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I was scratching my head for a little bit, but ultimately was able to get it out of the way. Just look for the little 10 mm nuts on the valve covers. That will get them mostly out of the way.
