There is no chance, after all this time, that Lewis turns off the shaders. He never turned off the victory song, so there is a precedent for this sort of thing.
The actors name is J. K. Simmons, what a star :) As a sidenote there was a spin-off portal game called "Aperture Desk Job" released earlier this year where Cave Johnson featured so it is possible the pack was recorded during the same time.
I like how they complain about nothing happening in League pro games (which is true, they are deathly boring for the most part), but then only a few minutes later start complaining about zoomer games where TOO MUCH is happening. What is it these lads WANT, a harmonious balance between two extreme opposite ideas? Pfff.
The thing about League game is it depends a lot about who you're watching from what I've found. European games are a bloodbath (for League pro games), whereas there have been Korean games where the first death happens at 30 minutes, followed by a team winning. Unfortunately, the 'not dying' style tends to work better, so that appears more at Worlds.
@@cameronwilsey9334 yeah, I'd say everyone knows it. For most people, especially the younger generation, it's an introduction to videogames in general. Still has a very active fanbase making mods and even separate games based on Portal, there is a huge demand for Portal 3, it's positively massive

The only game I can think of Re: Pyrion's description around 25-26 minutes would be Descent, which I used to play as a kid. Now I feel old. God damn you Pyrion.
It's kind of crazy to me that I came to that same conclusion almost immediately. Haven't played or thought of that game since i was 9 or 10 years old but BAM Descent. I also feel old 😆
40:00 Bounty also has 5 base armor which is tied with Terrorblade as the highest in the game. Armor does have diminishing returns, getting health or a Hood is probably better.
I know Joe already responded but Battlefury's description reads "(MELEE ONLY)" at the end there so you're right Pyrion, you've just been bamboozled by the supreme gibbon lords.
Regarding Pyrion's twitch stream: I love to see Pyrion in any kind of collabs. He was always my favourite in civ games, I love this, the triforce etc. I watched his stream for a while and subbed a couple times, but I just don't have the interest in watching one person play a game for three hours. I need conversation, editing, or something to provide something to latch on to. Twitch streams (other than events) just seem very empty to me. I feel like many of the yogs are relying on streaming for money, but the medium really is targeted at a certain few people who have the time and interest for that. Idk.
Are you old like me? Maybe it's an old thing. I'm the same way. I just can't get enough of Bouphe in the various videos she's in, so I tried to tune into her streams for a few times, and.... fffzzzzz... like, it's not her, it's just an example. The only person I found can hold my attention in a stream is Day9 and even then he's mostly on in the background.
@@aethernaut1899 I think the issue is in watching a stream in the same way you watch TH-cam. I think most people just half the stream on in the background only half paying attention until something catches their interest. All that said unless it's something like Jingle Jam I don't typically use Twitch but that's mostly because the frequency of ads is absurd. Though, I have on rare occasion found myself watching twitch the same way I would TH-cam. Mostly Strippin.
The hoodwink BF was the super next level play to cut down sprout from NP. It is super bad obviously and a force staff would be better but there is a logic.
Joe says that our games in the Discord are TOO GOOD to be seen! After the return to Scrub Dota, I demand gibbon rights! We are watching, we are learning, and we are STILL BAD!
Pflax: "A ghost scepter?! Building the worst item in the game!" Lewis: "I know! You might as well given them the Eblade now!" Me with a basic understanding of the game solely from watching scrubcast games: "Ha! You moron! You absolute gibbon! You utter pillock!"
Congrats, but I will say, comboing Echo Basher with Phillystone, is certainly something I haven't seen before. It seems, a bit, less than ideal, I say.
I enjoyed all the talk about different games and the different mentalities games are built for. Some days I want to fight, die, revive, repeat all day. Some days I want to fly almost endlessly through space for an hour for a single mission. Also, they mentioned LoL, but what about other MOBAs? Where is Smite on their rankings? Or Heroes of the Storm? I love hearing these two ramble, and Pyrion is my favorite commentator for anything. I hate pro level dota or poker, but yogs level with Pyrion shouting is perfection.
pro league has been really low kill for a long time now, some regions have more action than others but it seems like pros have just decided this is how you play on stage and that's the meta. the game is definitely not always like that in pubs but then you might be watching a bronze who knows. I can say that the finals were tense but i know more about the game and the teams involved than you may have so that feeling probably didn't transfer. also god damn lewis talking about subspace, i remember messing around in subspace.
Regarding Lewis and his zoomer gaming, I think he definitely overlooked the fact that a lot of these super fast paced and zero brain input games are actually played a lot by older people who don't have the time to learn or play any other games due to work, family etc. For games like cod, you can just load into a game and play and that's all they want
Thank GOD, its back, i was having withdrawals. The axe could have just been a way to ecape the trees with its active, although its expensive way of doing it, maybe just worth it for the extra damage as well. Probably would have just got a blink or something though.
those numbers seem to have fallen off HARD because in NA i can barely get a game Ranked or non ranked takes 30min and by that time i dont want to play anymore.
Lewis : They call the new generation ZOOMERS for a reason. Everything is instant. Food get delivered to your door, apps download in seconds. You can pick and play a movie or tv show on demand. Etc etc. So when they game, they also want (and expect?) very fast gameplay. It's kind of a sad development.
43:55 literally shouting at my screen to rubick why are you running!? you build your stupid self for right clicks and damage and youre running from a near dead bounty?
having played a lot of quake i have no idea of what these boomers are talking about. most quake servers had 5 second respawntime and then you ran around killing people or got killed and then respawned. classic late 90s fps were super quick.
"Who the fuck is cave johnson" how many games do you think valve even has? Which one has memable voiced characters? What, you want gordon freeman announcer pack?
Ya this game was pretty bad for scrub cast. Also what rank were they herald 1? I play guardian and crusader. And the worst I get is people playing alone and carries in the offlane. Atleast their builds generally make sense.
I don't know where the difference comes from, but compare the herald games that Joe gets to the herald games that @JenkinsDota finds for his Herald reviews. Finding the right game must be hard, but this sure wasn't it.
League had genuinely the best worlds ever this year, with 2 amazing stories to in the finals. Pyrions bias against league is too strong for him to try to watch it i think lol
"This transition is extended, they never wanna leave their lanes" complete utter bullshit. Every low mmr low behaviour game i play, carry, even when winning and getting nice farm and kills in lane, hits level 6 and fucks off to jungle forever. "I got my ulti i can jungle now, i'm a carry i need farm i can't actually lane"
Pyrion is great at the dota commentary, but his league takes are just dreadful. He doesn't follow it so he doesn't see the tense moments as important. I prefer dota pro play, but the difference isn't as stark.
There is no chance, after all this time, that Lewis turns off the shaders. He never turned off the victory song, so there is a precedent for this sort of thing.
that cocking victory song fucking sucks
Yeah, that's Lewis' Scrub Dota version of "we'll edit this part out." Because of course he never does.
ahahaah trueee

This video had quite the Lewis monologue in the middle 30 minutes
I think they are vastly underestimating how popular Portal still is. It's a classic
But is it a classic in the sense that only old fogies care about it or in the way that everyone knows it?
It's on most must play lists for new gamers. It's a great introduction to games.
