    56 kills on the team and Techies was involved in 8, it's hard to get worse than that without being completely AFK. The Shadow Fiend was clearly a smurf though, no way he's actually the same skill level as the Techies.

    Absolutely killed me when Daf and his drow got hit by blast off and then Daf salved himself. My first thought was "good gaming by Daf, salving his carry back to full" and then I noticed drow was not healing at all. Then of course he gets annoyed at drow for playing scared. I mean the drow was objectively terrible, but laning with Daf looks like a bit of a nightmare. Great video though, always entertaining to watch a "fox in the henhouse" game, even if it isnt very fun for the Heralds.

    the more i see scrub dota the more i understand that
    to properly play dota, you have to study
    it’s a game heavily reliant on knowledge which intimidates me to actually play the game even though it looks like fun

    • @jacobcooke2982
      @jacobcooke2982 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Most of the fun for me is learning all of that as I play. Tho a lot of the time people will be super toxic when you don't know what stuff is.

    • @Deunstephe
      @Deunstephe 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      After playing for a few months, absolutely. And the only way to study is to play. It's fucking painful, especially if you're not doing it with friends who can teach you the game, because otherwise you have to bear the responsibility of learning every lineup and ability on your own and it just takes ages. Heroes that look like they're easy can actually be really hard because of how they're supposed to be played. You can think you're doing alright in a lane because you haven't died, but actually the enemy has just been able to farm better than you and you didn't know it. There is so much going on and a series like this just helps shed the light on some of it, I love it.

    • @AcceptTheNull
      @AcceptTheNull 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Too much of this put on the idea to learn individual heroes, but that is Pyrion and Joe teaching very wrong. You learn basic concepts that then allow you to build upon those into specific ideas. I suggest learning how statuses work, stun, silence, slow and the relations of magic, pure, physical and damage resistance. How strength vs agility vs intellect works out and how they influence heroes. From that you can build a template that you can then use to identify how any hero works.

    • @daddysempaichan
      @daddysempaichan 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CypherWitch Muting players that quick might be jumping the gun a little, but yeah, very true about having to play games to learn. It's because there's a distinct diffrence between being knowledgeable about the game, and putting that knowledge to use in the heat of the moment. Like for example, I watch a lot of Pro Starcraft 2, I know a decent bit about the game and know things like Man with Gun is a strong unit and walking into a siege line isn't very smart. But when I'm actually playing against other people I can't read situations or react quick enough to not lose the game. Or to use real life, you might know everything there is about swimming, but you need to actually swim to get good at it.
      So anyway's, yeah, playing a new game with no prior experience is hard, even if you know what's up. You're gonna lose a lot, but learn from those looses, and keep pushing through. Easier said than done.

    • @lewis6590
      @lewis6590 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's the thing though. We're watching games from the tier of dota where people don't know those things. There's a ton of people that are getting to know the game or sometimes don't even want to know. I'm one of them for sure and games are hilarious

  • @rafaelmarkos4489
    @rafaelmarkos4489 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Considering that Daf was standing behind his Drow and 'supporting' against an SK, and asking his carry to enter sandstorm to make himself feel better, he's the biggest gibbon here. And Joe is, for some reason, not actually telling him that he's not supporting well. In that lane, SS needed to pull and force the SK out of his comfort zone, and instead he's out there casting his spells as poorly as possible and blaming other people.

    Thing about Arcane Blink SF, Abyssal mostly contributed to its success. The blink strike stun of the abyssal was absolutely insane and paired up with an arcane blink SF, you can blow up most people. Late game SFs would have Arcane Blink, Abyssal, BKB, Refresher and at that point, if you're a CM, a Lion or any of the soft heroes, you're fucked even if your teammates are right behind you. Even now, blink strike stun from the Abyssal was removed, it now stuns at melee range and you can still secure kills this way.

  • @MrTroves
    @MrTroves 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    I will say... I suspect part of why Daf was so low is because it seemed like Dire was prone to targeting him from the get go of a number of team fights; Or at least the SF did. Which kind of makes sense when you consider that Daf (At least early on) was actually supporting his team... or trying to at least. Sure his presence didn't give his team the turn around win they needed to beat back Dire, but he was trying to work with some of his teammates to get the most out of it (unlike Drow or Hoodwink). I wouldn't be surprised if they intentionally started targeting Daf to further disorganize the Radiant team.

    honestly while I get why pyrion hates on the hood this game being "offlane" and playing like the safe lane. But thats because in reality drow picked a shit offlane and was put into the safe lane. this game probably would have gone better if they dumped the drow and didn't force hood off. Then she probably would have gotten last hits and kills with daff. I think daff actually might have lost this game by forcing hood off
