So what do you all think about Battletech? Was I right / wrong? I would live to know your thoughts in the comments down below.

As a game, Battletech smokes 40K. $60 may be a tad steep, but it gets you playing full games. $25-$30 for a lance or star of 4 or 5 mechs is laughably cheap compared to the half-ass, crushingly expensive 40K units. I will say that what you aren’t spending on units, you’re spending on ancillary items, like markers, plastic sheeting/lamination, copies, dice, so forth. If all you want is mech action, the box is all you’ll ever need. Finally, you aren’t required to feed the beast of constant rules updates, constant codex releases, or retooled armies that are released broken. I have a Technical Readout that is 33 years old, and it is fully functional unchanged today as it was then.
