i know absolutely nothing about binding of isaac but i like when he says things like "YOOO COLON OF THE DAMNED" i just sit there twirling my hair and nodding my head
you say you know nothing about the binding of isaac, yet somehow you've still mastered the naming convention perfectly. "colon of the damned" sounds more like an isaac item than some of the items that actually do exist in isaac
that's about how it feels playing an isaac run after a certain point to be fair

You had so many familiars that the game had to despawn the ones that were active so it could spawn the inactive ones. That created an infinite loop of despawning active familiars so it could respawn inactive familiars
A stack of familiars is the limit. Good to know.
I love watching these highlights without knowing a single thing about Binding of Isaac. I feel like an 85-year-old man who stumbled onto somebody playing a video game for the first time.
Grayfruit's always some twisted amalgamation surrounded by ten billion little creatures talking about like, Esau's Bee or some other previously unheard of item like it's an old friend, and then everything on the screen either duplicates, transforms, or explodes.
Not knowing where the game ends and presumably numerous mods begin also adds to the mystique.

The funny part is that there’s no mechanical mods for this run, it’s all just QOL mods.
Literally nothing in 99% of his Isaac videos is mods. Aside from replacing some sprites for the sake of memes and jokes.
Granted, the content added in the Repentance expansion WAS originally a fan made mod, but it was so GOATED that the dev hired the whole god damn team and implemented the whole ass mod, expanded and improved, into the official game.
When you play the game and understand it, this run is only more ridiculous
Honestly? Even knowing quite a bit about the binding of isaac, the best runs still become complete chaos where everything duplicates, transforms, and explodes. Even you. Especially you.
I'm pretty sure your familiars despawned during the soul of lilith break due to your familiars hitting a cap. Once they hit the cap, new familiars cause the oldest to despawn but familiars immediately respawn when that happens, causing the now oldest familiar to despawn and reappear, causing an infinite loop of vanishing familiars.
And it looks like a cartoon fight dust cloud, which is fun.
so did he reach a point where more familiars had to vanish than are able to appear in the first place? is that why the game crashed?
@@DaveedMee Maybe. Often during these crashes there's way too much stuff going on to know exactly what crashed. But it might instead because of the amount of tears that were on screen. I've seen multiple times where someone fired a single shot with parasite and/or crickets body (and a whole bunch of other items) and the game almost immediately crashes. That's what I'm guessing is happening here.

I have watched this man play isaac for hundreds of hours and only now realized "bum" refers to the fact that they're beggars, not because this game has a questionable level of poop/butt jokes in it. The more you know.
bum can also just mean bad without referring to beggars or butts. He isn't begging, he's just making himself at home and taking your stuff without asking, being an asshole. Personally i thought that it meant an idler/waster, but obviously lots of people think beggars are that.

as someone who isnt really that into isaac, watching mr fruit play this is like watching an alchemist devise a devious elixir using techniques and knowledge far beyond my understanding

Were those ungodly sounds actually coming from him at that time stamp? I was just about to mark that same time myself in a comment, for obviously different reasons. Please tell me those were “sound effects’ edited in to the video (which isn’t that much better in terms of respecting this channel). Those noises were awful.

@@connor48880some context: bum friend, dark bum and key bum are items that take coins, red hearts and keys respectively and spit out random rewards. When you have all, you obtain super bum, who does all of their jobs and spits out double the rewards.
I would like an update; I want to know how much of this gameplay is incomprehensible madness to you.
Oh I get plenty of it from watching his other playthroughs of this game (and watching Mick play it on OneyPlays) I just didn’t get what “Spindown” meant lol
@@connor48880 Spindown dice IRL are 20-sided dice arranged so sequential numbers are adjacent to each other on the die. You can “spin down” the number that way, good for keeping track of things.
Spindown Dice in the game turns pedestal items in the room into whatever item is one ID number lower. An item with ID 57 would turn into ID 56. Deterministic rerolling, really cool item.
No matter how difficult Breadmund makes breaking the game Mr. Fruit always finds a way
But the truth is, its super easy to break isaac and never was that a problem
This is the most jawdroppingly nuts run I've seen in post-patch Repentance. The entire stream is worth a watch. And it's all thanks to Superbum!

That game any good? I remember I got it like 2 years ago and couldn't figure out how to get thru one of the first rooms and then had to leave and forgot to go back to it
@@Dietchapstick it’s a little difficult to understand some of the controls and mechanics but if you stick around long enough you can get an appreciation for it’s beauty and brutality
i cant say it’s the best for people with very little patience or short tempers but it is a well crafted experience nonetheless

The craziest thing about this video is that this could be done vanilla; all the mods he has (to my knowledge) are either cosmetic or quality of life
What tf are you talking about? So many of these items were not available in vanilla. Super bum was instrumental in this game break, and he for sure wasn’t around during vanilla.

Edit: 22:56 is where he gets the sticky nickel, but I have no idea what you’re talking about, saying that it “flipped him off,” and I don’t see him being any more happy about the sticky nickel part than he was during any other part of the run.

@@anti-ethniccleansing465 It's a little hard to see in the general chaos of the footage, but the visual of walking over a sticky nickel from the cat coin mod is a big image of it flipping you off appearing in time with the vine boom.

I had to look up what a “vine boom” sounds like because I never used vine in my life. I put my resolution on max and replayed that part a TON of times, even in .25x slo-mo speed, and I don’t see any of the dancing cat coins giving the finger.
Can you give a better timestamp, and describe the location better of where exactly my eyes should be focusing on (describe the stuff right next to where the the middle finger is given, is it right next to isaac, etc)?

Incredibly happy you've been giving the Excelsior music pack a go on your more recent Isaac runs. I'm at the point where I can't play the game without it lol. It's so fitting for Isaac, and they're all fuckin' bops
i use soundtrack mod to customize the music. It's such an underrated mod and you can do anything with it, you can make the bossfight music play on the chest or the basement music play on beast. It also has a lot of compatibility with other soundtrack mods like anitibirth ost, ultralayers, sick's rips and even the hotline miami music pack.
Grayfruit's mods alone are enough to strike fear into the deepest pits of my heart and spirit

Using R Key resets the run with the exact same map layout as the first run, which is why the whole run was Deja Vu. Even pickup spawn locations are the exact same

I don't know anything about the items in Binding of Isaac so when I hear him saying "Oh I got a tear down and 3 vurps and 5 golden pills but 2 lickety splits but also 20 sharts and finally 1 kamikaze so I can damage boost through the wall but I don't wanna mess around with the piss stains too much" my eyes and brain start glazing over.

I have recently binged 100 hours of Isaac trying to learn this game. I can confidently say that about halfway through the video I could no longer tell anything that was happening. Top tier content
