  • In today's video I am reacting to a Strawberry Park video where they talk about ridiculous fashion, avant garde fashion, people playing characters through the way they dress and more topics on fashion style.

Honestly I feel like there’s such thing as “real fashion” and fashion for fashion’s sake at this point

bandages for aesthetic’s sake was a massive trend in the anime community in the early 2010’s; harajuku/shibuya-inspired brands still sell them.

I think dressing like celebrities has been a thing for Asia. For example, some of the people in China or Japan literally dress like G dragon and buy everything he owns!

I really like a lot of the points the guys brought up. Never heard of them either but definitely more knowledgeable and respectful than so many others that see or react to these types of outfits. There's always levels of knowledge and understanding to any hobby; anything can be ridiculous or cosplay if you (or society) deems it as such. Like you mentioned, people should feel free to wear whatever they want so long as it's not hurting others. Also a band-aid on the nose can also help nose-breathing if applied properly.

I feel like a lot of fashion designers and people who work in fashion want to fit into the stereotype of how a fashion designer/professional should dress. And some try too hard to look different but end up looking the same. The same goes to other creatives .

at 18:00 the expectation about getting into design after getting deep enough into any hobby is something that i think only creatives face.
someone really into coffee isnt encouraged or expected to start a plantation or a coffee roasting business, even someone who picks up technical skills regarding their hobby ( like restoring classic cars, gardening or something) isnt expected or asked if they would persue it professionally. Something kinda feels off or disrespectful about that. As if there would be a lower barrier of entry or something. maybe this is self-gatekeeping but i have a healthy respect for the craft of anyone in any industry.

I design clothes just to get the creativeness out, I don't care if I sell any pieces of clothing. It's hard to shop at Major stores because everything seems cut wrong or lacking intelligent design. If it cost $1,000 I better know the designer personally. 😂 Paying a couple hundred dollars for a t-shirt or shoes is where I'm at.

hopefully you are just designing them and not actually creating the garments because that would be a waste of money and fabric 😅

The young designers featured in the video remind me of characters from “Paradise Kiss.” Everyone making, wearing, sometimes selling their own clothes as a form of self-expression and alternative-ness to the everyday. I’m not big on every print or style that I’ve seen here, but I like that more people are playing with making fashion for themselves and their customers.

Those guys have a lot of knowledge full stop. They even brought up French philosophy with the concept of 'The Performance', throughout they made astute comments and more than that they were funny with it. Going by the title of the vlog I thought that they were going to be ass hat bant-ters but it's good to see you can be pleasantly wrong. New to this channel but enjoying it.

Im a plain jane so new to all this but tend to see patterns and colors.

the bandage on the nose look actually isn't that weird as an asthetic choice. Famous rapper, Nelly, abused this look during the early to mid 2000's.
