I have been watching you for months now and I really like your videos! So much that I ordered a snack box Micro for myself! I was always the only one out of my friends that played fighting games (since 92/93 I was 4/5 wasting money on arcades because that was what everyone was doing back then) first game ever was street fighter 2 and later kof! I haven’t played fighting games for almost 15 years now. But when I found your channel it gave me an itch. And now a days people can connect through the internet. I am really Loki g forward to play kof xv. Thanks for all the good content!

legit just came to this video cuz i saw someone else using and i wanted to hear how clicky it was, but i was pleasantly surprised with a very in depth review, even talking about the ergonomics of the controller!

wow just ordered, super excited to get my hands on one of these. i love how small it is, and i’ve wanted to try the button style hitbox. it seems like it feels similar to a keyboard having your fingers on asd and your thumb on space. excited to try one out finally because i don’t feel comfortable with the arcade sticks. overall, nice video 🙌🏽

Yeah the original is slim but not like the m press and snackbox but its still slim and is not even that big is it big but not as big as you think but thats just my opinion man you can buy which ever hitbox style you want nobody is stopping you ok just pick something that you will enjoy and like and have fun with.
What's nice is the hitbox comes with it's own bag, and it's actually pretty slim tbh. I personally want something a little sturdier cause i have rowdy dogs in the house. This controller seems fantastic tho. Perfect thing to toss in your bag and go to a friends house with.

I want one. Looks like it’d be perfect to take with me when I go out of town with my Switch, or to take to locals when they start to reopen.
I don't know if I'd ever use this to replace a standard joystick, but as a portable for use with my Switch I am totally on board. Two, of course.

Concave / Convex buttons really is a matter of perspective and your age. When I was playing fighting games back in the day (Street Fighter 2 days) all the arcade buttons on cabinets in the USA were concave. Convex buttons is a Japanese thing. It doesn't make a huge difference.

This looks awesome, it has a lot of nice features and having a portable controller that can be use in both PS4 pc and switch is definitely a plus for me
I just got to test out the micro and I have to say it is now my stickless controller of choice. I have the OG hitbox, and I think it is great, but It is really only ergonomic if you can play with your hands suspended over the buttons. I have always needed to rest my wrists, and that feels like it has definitely done some damage over extended use with the height of the OG Hitbox. As you mentioned in this review, because this controller is so low profile, I can comfortably rest my wrists on my legs and play on this controller without discomfort.
I'd definitely recommend this to people looking for a stickless controller simply for that reason alone. If you have no problem playing with your hands elevated than the OG Hitbox is still a great choice, but I'll almost certainly be selling mine now.

I’m Switching from pad and I almost bought this, but ended up just going with hitbox cause of the ability to customize it if I wanted too. I still plan eventually buying the Micro down the road though cause it’s easy to travel with and how much of a beating it can take. I would of bought both If I could, but I just couldn’t justify dropping $400 on controllers all at once lol
How was the change from pad to leverless for you? I'm thinking of switching from pad to it as well but I'm afraid of having to relearn how to play and rebuilding my muscle memory lol if it only takes a few weeks to readjust then that might not be that bad
I got mine! It’s my first all button box and I love it to death! The learning curve isn’t that hard but there IS a learning curve don’t expect to be doing 50% damage combos out the box lol it’s definitely going to be my main controller for fighting games. Can’t wait to try it on strive!

@@imohbalu idk if you remember back when the ps4 got external drive support, but that took a hot minute, so its safer to assume that'll be the case with the 5, also its backwards compatible, so really no harm in just buying the last gen version for probably 10 bucks less lol

I've been wanting to learn hitbox for a while now, this one looks really nice. The only thing bothering me is those tiny little buttons. Like he mentioned, going to take a toll on your finger if you reset in training mode over and over.
New (better) versions of those are now shipping in our store.
Bought my snack box,kinda sad it got delayed but this helps a lot for what to expect!
`I love this controller. This was my first button box controller. I got this controller out of a whim, but it does everything I could ever want. the ONLY gripe I have with the controller is those top bottoms. I wanted to learn Killer Instinct and I honestly dropped it just because you have to press start and share together but pressing those buttons together is a pain and a bit inconsistent sometimes. I know they are actually going to change those buttons, so that's great. Other than that gripe I say this controller a great controller if you're in the market as it is more than just a gimmick.
Thanks for showing off this item the led light feature looks great. It looks confusing to use I do feel the new experience is needed today so thanks again.
If I hadn't build my own hitbox from AllFightSticks I would definitely look into getting this...come to think of it I still may...lol.

I am not sure, but I think the buttons might be concave. Very subtly concave even. Not sure. Could be. Possibly. You should mention it.

20 years ago when I discovered mame on pc, I didn’t have a controller so I learned to play street fighter ii with the keyboard (and pretty well as well). Everyone thought I was mad. 20 years later, turns out I was just ahead of the curve! This thing is wicked!
Same here! My cousin and I didn't have access to controllers during that time. I have lost my hard core keyboard skills because a controller is more comfortable, but you do what you can
All I need to this be perfect is the option with a longer board and option to spread the move and attacks buttons a bit (they have it on another hitbox). And ps5 support, so I'll wait anyway, but looking for one in near future 100%

Hot damn! The extreme tininess of this thing really makes me wonder if my concerns about sticks slipping around on my legs will be a thing of the past.
Also, how would you compare the texture of these buttons to the texture of Hori Hayabusa buttons?

Do you or anyone else know if the DP input trick (16:46) works in games other than SFV? Games seem to vary wildly in how strict they are with DP inputs so I wonder if that input would work universally or you'd need to learn a different way of inputting it for different games.

Great video! Junkfood will have injection molded buttons in soon. The new buttons replace all of the option buttons as well so they will feel nicer to press the little ones on top. They are all being made in PBT so it will also lower the sound profile a bit like on keyboard keycaps and the best part they will have a color options!

agree with all your points honestly, this controller is genuinely a godsend
like to be completely fair i havent had any other arcade controllers but ive got really bad arthritis and whatnot that's really kinda stopped me from playing fighting games for a good while because of playing on pad usually making it worse yada yada ya anyways the snack box micro has just helped out so much
plus it accommodates for all the weird positions i have to sit in like you showed off there (like i know you were joking around but i do pretty much all of the ones you did barring "i wish i were a pad player" lmao)
also it's so thin that i can keep playing even when my cat decides he's gotta sit on my hands so thats always a bonus

What would you say are pros and cons? I’m thinking about Hitbox but this mini also has intrigued me but Im not sure which would be worth my money..
@@zonk834 im not much of a hitbox player but I have tried it more than once. The immediate pros of buttonboxes are the ability for precise inputs, simultaneous directional inputs, and simpler directional inputs. I haven't experienced anything negative to be considered a con for buttonbox controllers but I've only tried them for a little less than a month. I do have to say though, that the prices are a bit too high for what they are worth. The controller showcased in the vid is about $200 not including tax, but it has customization options. They still last long but I wouldn't want to spend that type of money

I tend to do 360 and half circle inputs this way, so I'm wondering if it slides easily

I just ordered one of these, perfect size for me because I travel quite a bit. My old TE2 is way too big to bring everywhere
I'm thinking about getting leverless because I have a ton of trouble finding a combination of the perfect dpad and the perfect buttons on the same controller. I'm a big keyboard nerd and love looking at and testing different switches but didn't even know that was something you could do with leverless. Also sometimes my motion inputs fail to come out more than I'd like so having buttons might fix that for me
Also someone who actually likes Them's Fightin Herds lol. I'm definitely not the demographic for that game but it's such a damn great fighter that a lot of people are missing out on. Also the fact it runs on the Skullgirls engine and has some of the best netcode helps a ton.
This is about the size of a switch it seems to be. This also seems way cheaper than a regular hitbox so that’s awesome

My only concern before getting this controller really was: is it gonna be comfortable on my lap???? Is it gonna be 'big' enough of a controller??
I'm 6foot4 / 193cm and long legged hehe. Large hands and its working PERFECTLY.
There's definitely a learning curve to it but it's just soo much fun to play & super portable.
I mainly play Tekken 7 and in reasonable time i mastered the KBD technique, and qcf / qcb commands really feel amazing.
Can't recommend it enough!

How's this controller for DB fighterZ? I want to play thins game with an actual controller instead of my PC keyboard but not having an up key close to the other movement keys
i guess you can easily 3d print new key caps and make whatever design you want, rough, smooth, tall, low, whatever you can imagine.
I lost my hori arcade stick in a move, which pissed me off. I'd been considering getting a button box since I've played a lot of fighting games on keyboards when I was younger, so it feels natural to me. So this looks like a good option for the price range.

@@jico5147 nothing too expensive (I have a rule of dont own anything I'm not prepared to discard at a moments notice), just a Hayabusa i got from a gamestop. Liked the color scheme though.
