    Great video! thank you I have two snail tanks. one with only pond snails (i have to clean quite regularly because of the eggs, no heater but our house is around 19celcius so they lay eggs a lot) I am also currently building a third. I have decided to plant some live plants in the substrate, I am dry seeding tonight! I think because I don't want to disturb my planted tank too much I will keep the pond snails out of the new planted tank. but my goal is to have fish, shrimp, nerite snail and brine shrimp in the planted tank.
    Thank you!!!
    keep posting I love these snail videos

    Pond snails and bladder snails are different types of snails. They are from different families. Thank you for this vid though, I've been looking for everything I can find on bladder snail breeding. Very helpful!

    I bought a 40 gallon breeder tank before I got my puffer Bought like 40 snails and it’s been a nice little ecosystem senseAlso another really good thing to feed them Our Algae feeder tablets very inexpensive and if you don’t want your tank messy they work nice

    Before I get my puffer I’m breeding some snails and I’ve been feeding them carrots and algae wafers. Is that good enough for gut loading? We don’t buy zucchini or cucumber often.

    • @peapufferkingdom118

      Remember we r raising snails to naturally trim pea puffer teeths. For better shells use calcium rich plants. N keep ph around 8 . N use soil for eggs to hide ,so that they breed fast

    Question: how many snails should you feed one pea puffer per day

    • @peapufferkingdom118
      @peapufferkingdom118  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks so much! I would start with 5 snails and see if a) the pea eats them all and b) has a nice round belly after the feeding. If it doesn't look particularly full then you could add a few more in. The main issue would be if it's killing but not eating them all the water quality may drop so be sure to fish out any half eat snails by the next day.
      Also be sure to mix the food here and there with bloodworms and other foods too. Though I have heard of Peas living very happily on snails only.
      Do let me know how you get on! : )

    My 4 pea puffers don't seem interested in eating snails. They prefer bloodworms live blackworms. Is that normal?
    Also, can I keep the snail bucket outside?

    Love your videos. I am considering getting Pea Puffers myself.
    I've heard you have to remove the snailshells when they are done eating. How do you remove those tiny shells? Do you pick it one by one?
    Also, what size aquarium do you recommend for 2 or 3 Pea Puffers?

    • @peapufferkingdom118
      @peapufferkingdom118  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dicky Liu Hey! Thanks Dicky. You don’t need to take the snails out of there shells. Although if the snails (pond or rams horn snails) are much bigger the the pea puffers eye then they might not be able to suck the whole snails out so it rots in the water slowly. I usually drop in 10-20 a few days before I clean the tank and then pick the shells out one by one. You can use a small dish, let the snails stick to it and then drop in the tank so you only need to pick the dish out mainly.
      For 2-3 peas a well planted 10 gallon should work well. Just make sure you de-worm them as soon as you get them home. My latest episode tells you more in what to look out for when buying peas. Thanks again!

    My two pond snails aren't breeding, my main tank was almost out of Ramshorn snails because my two Assassin snails just stun them and doesn't eat immediately but I noticed they leave the pond snails alone.

    Mine like to eat malaysian trumpets. People say they overpopulated tanks but I cant even get them to breed in my tanks. My other snails have no problem reproducing though so my puffers are well fed. Do h ever feed frozen bloodworms?

    Questions about your Snails breeding tub
    1- Snails not need surface agitation?
    2- Ammonia will not kill them?
    3- Water change is needed?

    • @peapufferkingdom118
      @peapufferkingdom118  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Thomas. 1- Nope. Had them for a couple of months now and after the first few weeks they are breeding pretty well. A small filter and heater would definitely speed up the breeding process though.2/3 You do need to water change at least twice a week otherwise as you rightly suggest Ammonia will kill them.I now have a bigger glass tank which I will show on a future episode. They also love any dying leaves from your tanks and will lay eggs on them too.
