I'm going to try to pin this so hopefully more people see it. There are a lot of (very small) markers all over the area stating certain places are off limits to vehicle traffic. We did not see one of these where we drove, but if you go, keep an eye peeled to make sure you're not driving where you are not supposed to.
It wouldn't surprise me if people tore down the BLM markers, but there should be several of them blocking the road about a mile before the feature. I cringe when I think of what the place is going to look like in another few years.
That's what I love about Utah. No rails, no warning signs, all natural. If you want to go out to the edge and fall off, it's up to you. Another beautiful area. Thanks for taking us along.
I completely agree with not holding everybody's hand and giving out GPS coordinates. I get asked all the time about my slot finds in the TX panhandle. I and others found them with tons of research, sweat, and tears. Plus we don't want the lazy to show up to these places and mark their names on the rocks. Hikers who work for it are less likely to do crap like that. Good video.
Finally got to visit this amazing place while my wife and I were in Utah these past 2 weeks. Absolutely stunning. Thanks for all the videos you post. They are inspirational.
Fabulous video Jerry. Great music choice for Angel of Death. Lots to be said for self research & satisfaction of adventuring. Thanks for sharing! Yes, your dizzying heights photo was worth it. Keep exploring!
Whoa~ Jerree & Tieena - a beautiful day with blue skies - incredible drone shots - but the heights!??!! Whoa de oh. Make me dizzy. Those towering pinnacles spiking out of the earth. What a place; and thanks for sharing.
Very nice hidden gems Tina and Jerry. Usually expect to see more red rocks in Utah but liked the white and grey formations. Ok, will have to do my homework to find these spots for myself. Thanks :( Safe travels.
Great choice of music with Dong pinnacle. Funny, the labels I see for your Moonscape Overlook are Skyline View on Google Earth. Sure looked exactly like the ledge I've spent a few nights on. Rock on you two.
We just went to these amazing sites today. We learned about them from watching this channel. We originally were going to park on the highway and walk in to Angels tower but noticed that there were no signs. We drove in along a track for about half a mile to the ‘no vehicle markers’. Parked and walked in the rest. Cool and sunny day. Had the place to ourselves until a local drove right up in an Off road vehicle. Amazing place. Highly recommend. A must see. The moon overlook is also worth the drive. People were out there camping with RV’s.
I love this area. I swear there were no signs when we were there. Well, there were actually plenty, but I didn't see any on the parts we drove on. I even went back and checked the footage to make sure I didn't miss something. Not sure if they were taken down or what happened. Glad you got to see it though. Amazing place.
I saw video pop up at 5:30 am eastern when I got up. I decided not to watch it with blood shot eyes. Waiting entire day to watch was difficult but boy... am I glad I did. Takes your breath away... and to have those perspectives from above adds so much dynamic to the video. I have that neck of the woods on my radar for upcoming trip in 2023 so looking forward to following in the footsteps.
I think that YOU OWE me a drone! After you enticed me with yet another excellent video I did my research and went to the Angel of Death. I took some excellent drone video - best I have ever done. I was so excited to set up camp and edit it. When almost back to the main road I saw that BIG tall gigantic, enormous, huge rock thingy. After about ten minutes on the highway It was still on my mind so I turned around and drove back to add it to my excellent Angle of Death footage. I was in a hurry so, for the first time ever, I put Igor into Sport mode to expedite getting in position. I set up an orbit and after about 3/4 complete my screen started flicking around and my drone would not respond. I believe that it was because I did not shift out of Sport and had no sensor protection. My Air2S is now permanently enshrined on the top of one of the big canyoney thingys. I checked your video again, twice, and as I suspected you did not provide a warning to “Don’t fly your drone stupidly” nor did you warn not to try to orbit that BIG thingy, nor did you warn to shift out of sport mode - three strikes and your out. I believe that the legal basis for my claim is that you provided an “attractive nuisance” and encouraged people to follow in your footsteps by showing awesome places without giving proper warnings. I actually drove all the way to Las Vegas to pick up a new drone from an Amazon Locker and have returned to the scene of the crime. I intended to re-shot Angel of Death today but got side tracked by your Bentonite Hills video. Went past the Bentonite hills (awesome) and now sitting at the Cathedral Valley campgrounds. Only one here. Tomorrow I will continue drive back to Bentonite Hills, then to Angel of Death and if your lucky I’ll do a better job flying and you won’t owe me two drones. Now I just need to figure out where the canyon top is that you and Tina filled in the same video.
Actually, it does say that in the video, but it's just really, really fine print. You can't see it without an electron microscope. I actually ALMOST lost mine where I cleared that range by about a foot. I was sweating it but had to get the shot, so I just kept goin'. Glad you got to check the place out though.
Jerry. How do you always make these videos on the perfect day. The clouds were so moody in this video. Either you are the luckiest guy in the world or you and the weathermen are best friends.
Hi Jerry. I fell in love with that place when I finally got to be there, after watching your video. I gotta say I got a lot of respect for you walking up to that narrow cliff. I couldnt do it. Planning to go back there soon and also check places I wasnt able to.
Alright... I've seen some stunning places in videos before, but THIS one is insane and well worth the time I just spent researching. LOVE that area though so this just adds to the pull to go back again. 100% inspired to go seek this out for ourselves now that we finally have a vehicle capable of going offroad. Especially so after reading the comment about the spire eroding from climbers. Appreciate this video so very much!
Great one ! I’m surprised you didn’t climb and repel long dong silver ? Loved the music and drone footage! Thank you Jerry and Tina ! El patio would have been open for you ha ha !
@@JerryArizona I was up at dads last weekend and ran into cottonwood for him and you know I always look for your vehicle at El Patio when I drive by ha ha . One of these days We will catch you guys there !
Glad you found it. I absolutely love that entire area from Moki Dugway up around the lake to Hanksville, San Rafael & Capitol Reef.....Actually, I'd extend it down to Escalante even.
Great video. Loved it. If you are still in the area you could hike Lower Muley twist canyon. If still have more time head to Capitol Reef and do the lower spring canyon trail (river crossing at the end).
That Angel of Death spire is pretty cool, but the music in this video is amazing. Now I got to go and figure out how to play those guitar parts. Thanks
You and Tina never disappoint. Great places and looks like a fun outing. And yes, you will have to share your Mexican leftovers, the price of a good outing.
Impressive music and video on this one, especially the drone footage! And the outtake at the end…my wife and I nearly hurt ourselves laughing. So good to see you enjoying yet another amazing place.
i really appreciate that you don't disclose the location. i live near there. there are many utubers who not only show locations but sell precise maps. i shall subscribe to your channel therefor.
Excellent use of the drone and that first transition to the drone footage was impeccable. I just hiked the Valley of Dreams in the Bisti Badlands last week and I wish I had your camera skills. Mine just don’t do it justice.
We were at that overlook 2 months ago. Looking down and to the southeast the soil looked shiny black like nothing I've ever seen before. In your video it looked pretty dark but not completely black.
Good morning! I love all your videos, always fun to see Tina. Quick question: have you guys been to Hopi Salt Trail? Sounds like a place you and Tina might enjoy. Looking forward to the next video.
Thank you. And I've been planning Salt Trail for years. COVID closed the trail on our first attempt, I had permits for a couple months ago but was sick and didn't go. We will get there eventually though.
The Angel of Death rock is a very unique-looking monolith. A variation of the one in '2001 Space Odyssey'. A great shot of you with the crater-like formation background.
I'm an engineer and Tina is a nurse. She usually works 3~4 days a week and I have been working long enough I have plenty of PTO. We're lucky enough to live fairly close to a lot of places so we can squeeze a lot into a long weekend. Plus a couple longer trips every year too.
I'll have to go back to see the Angel of Death. I want to go back to the Moonscape Overlook anyway! I have an idea to do a night photo there with a full moon low in the sky, so I'll have to do some moon calendar studying to figure out when that could be accomplished!
Great drone video. We have once tried to get there from highway 24. But did not have enough time ( we were on foot. it was too muddy). Hope to be back one day to get there. If you are still in the area sat hi to Randy at Mesa Market in Caineville. Great cheese and bread.
It’s within a few hours from the Grand Canyon. The rocks are much younger ocean rocks from the Cretaceous period (when T-rex lived), so they are a little different color than the Grand Canyon, but pretty similar.
I feel like it's a lot more satisfying too. Currently looking for something I know I could reach out to some people and find. But I want to figure it out myself. So I will....or I guess I'll never get there. And that's fine by me.
You apparently missed the markers indicating the end of vehicular travel before the wash.
I'm going to try to pin this so hopefully more people see it. There are a lot of (very small) markers all over the area stating certain places are off limits to vehicle traffic. We did not see one of these where we drove, but if you go, keep an eye peeled to make sure you're not driving where you are not supposed to.

So? They didn't leave any trash. If they hadn't taken video, no Karen on earth would have known.
There is already climbing webbing wrapped around top of the spire. No one heard of leaving no trace??
@@jamesn.economou9922 You apparently don't understand other implications. Let me guess,... Cleveland?
