    • @heidyrodriguez6761

      hi, this is because oh a complication a hemolytic disease of the newborn (HDN) this happens when the mothers blood fights off the babies blood because it finds it forien. this is more likely to happen on the 2nd pregnancy. what it is is that your husnand or partner has negative blood and you have positive with no rh factor. negative can not receive positive. this will cause you the mothers antibodys on your red blood cells to attack your babies blood cells. causing the baby to not make it. but there is now a shot that you can get so your antibodies will not attack your babies antigens.

    Hallo, i got a question. You said Blood type 0 is the universal donator, but if you give blood (blood type 0) to a person with blood type A for example, the anti a antibodies in the plasma of the type 0 blood will attack the antigen A on the recipients RBCs. Did i got this wrong ?

    • @TestingLife-ku4kw
      @TestingLife-ku4kw ปีที่แล้ว

      that really confused me too ! did you find an answer ?!!

    • @TestingLife-ku4kw
      @TestingLife-ku4kw ปีที่แล้ว

      found it lol :
      Because blood is not used as a "whole" but separated to it's constituents - RBC, serum, platelets, white blood cells, and only needed parts of the blood would be used for transfusion. So people who belong to blood group O are universal donors of RBC but not of the plasma. People who belong to blood group AB would be considered to be universal donors of plasma.

    I thought you were wrong about blood type B receiving plasma from blood type AB because the table on the video on the following link /watch?v=KXTF7WehgM8 (9:47) says the contrary but, then I looked at another table and it confirms what you say. Strange. So the table belonging to this video (on my link) is probably wrong right?

    • @RumTumTuggy
      @RumTumTuggy 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      euheide Yeah. AB can donate plasma to all other blood types but it cannot donate Red Blood Cells or whole blood to others. O can donate RBC's and whole blood to all other blood types but it cannot donate plasma. The reason for this is because O plasma carries A and B blood type anti-bodies whereas AB plasma carries no anti-bodies and is thus safe to be put into any other body.

    If you were to do a drawing demo of the difference between BB and BO cells, would there be a difference? Would there be less B antigens on the BO cell? When donating organs, do they have to have a complete match with the amount of Antigens? Example: BB can/can't donate a kidney to BO. I use the example of BB and BO because I am BO NEG myself.

    • @GeneticsLessons
      @GeneticsLessons 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes BO would have less antigens B on the surface of RBC cause only one allele is present. But immune response would be the same.

    Alright my two sons and I have a blood disorder called VonWillebrands disease type 1. My older son and I have AB- and RH-, And my youngest son has AB+ and RH+.So my question is why didn't you tell us about the plasma on AB-RH- what happens when we need to be infused, because I heard that our blood is very rare for both types. So my oldest son and I use human plasma with Stimate and on bad bleeds we need Humate-P. And my youngest can only use Humate-P, and we all need Amicar to go along with them. So can you please help me understand that in case of an emergency why my youngest would be out of luck , and would the same go for my oldest son and I? I wanted to hear more about our rare blood types. And yes we all have dog tags, and go to the hematologist regularly except my oldest he is in prison, but he does get some help when he gets his teeth done. And of course my youngest and I have to be infused before dental procedures. So can you touch base on our situations. Thank you.

    • @GeneticsLessons
      @GeneticsLessons 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is not a blood group. Von Willebrand disease is a genetic disorder caused by missing or defective von Willebrand factor (VWF), a clotting protein. VWF binds factor VIII, a key clotting protein, and platelets in blood vessel walls, which help form a platelet plug during the clotting process. So you just unable to make a blood clot if you bleed, so you will need medicine in a form of missing protein.
