Bro, instead of beating up your injectors with that hammer and dismembered tree carcass like that, try hooking a 5/8" open ended wrench into the bottom hole in the hold down bracket and use the leverage that affords you to easily press the injectors into place. For extra points, also note that this method means that less vertical clearance on the passenger side rear injector is no longer an issue. Otherwise, great video!
Greatly appreciated. Thanks for the help. I'm lookn to buy a 99 E350 short bus cuz I'm special. It's got no engine light but puffs Blue as it warms up and less as it's warm. I'm hoping I don't buy it and light it on fire two days later out of frustration.
Hey man I have a 97 obs and It’s running so rough. I removed my valve covers today and unplugged one by one. And noticed #4 and #5 don’t do anything when unplugged. The other ones cause the truck to surge. I did the buss test and they all passed. But injector number 5 is squirting so much oil and it’s all splashing on the glowplug. The other #4 isn’t squirting at all. What could my issue be ? Also I’m guessing #5 has bad o rings
So, 1 cylinder on each bank is bad. I’d guess that your poppet valve on 5 is stuck open, and stuck closed on 4. You can try and remove the solenoid from each of those and check the clearance on the armature and make sure that center bolt isn’t broken. Good luck.
Great video. Wanted to ask.. so you took gp's out, installed inj, turned over engine a few times by socket, did this help to take the air out of the cylinder? thanks
You will end up with a mixture of diesel and oil on top of the pistons. Spinning the engine over with the glow plugs out prevents the chance of hydro locking the engine and bending a connecting rod.
@@nutsandbolts432 Hey nuts and bolts, I tried the ole hand tight but it got to the point whereby the socket started to slip over the bolt. I think this tells me I may have tightened too tight. Can't get the socket on it again. Is this going to be a problem? I don't even want to back it out. I'd rather leave it alone.
If you have a '97 and use AC injectors, you do not need to change anything. I did this with mine and every thing woke up. Base HP is 350. TS 6 tuner turns it up to 490.
Can someone explain the glowplug thing a little better… so you take ALL glow plugs out out the injectors in then start the truck and let the stuff come out then take the injectors back out and put the glow plugs back in ?
Glow plugs are independent of the injectors. Once the injectors are in, the fuel and oil systems are sealed. You remove the glow plugs to prevent hydrolocking (evacuating any fluids left in the combustion chamber). Once all the fluids are out, install the glow plugs and plug in the injectors (they should be unplugged prior to spinning the engine over so they don’t dump fuel in the combustion chamber). Hope that clears it up.
Sorry, I have a stupid question. So glowplugs out, then install injectors, then you turn the engine with a socket on crankshaft or do you actually attempt to turn on your obs? Oh, i forgot, without the injectors being plugged in, right?@@nutsandbolts432
If I recall correctly, it wasn’t long. 2nd or 3rd crank it was running. A few moments later the idle smoothed out. One good test drive and it was good to go.

Good luck with the purchase. Glad I could be of assistance. If you have any questions, let me know.
Thankyou for looking up the torque pounds specifics.. helped me out..
Thanks for watching. Glad I could help.
3yrs later she still runnin

It removed all the oil out of cylinder
1 year later, how's the truck doing?
For an old truck, she’s still getting it. Runs great, but the turbo pedestal has started seeping.
I have a 97 7.3 is there a certain injector that needs to go in cylinder 8 or are they all pretty much the same?
I saw 0 differences between any of the injectors. All mine got the exact same nozzle when I replaced them and has been running fine ever since.

Hi how you doing I have questions where u get the injection I’m need to buying my any recommendations and. Injection cut two. Thank you
How long did it take you to get the air out the System

Good I can't make that
120 inch pounds is 10 pounds foot torque?? That's the right torque in 7.3 dicel
If my math serves me correct, yes.
My favorite part 2:10 😂
