That engine is really famous down in Puerto Rico and is used for swaps in smaller cars like the Mitsubishi mirages from the 90s. Seen a lot of these making 300+ hp N/A mostly used for drag racing in the local scene.

Rockford Fosgate was a well known car audio brand during the 90's and early 00's. They competed with Kicker, JBL, Alpine, Jensen, etc.

    • @rushnerd
      @rushnerd 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

I thought it was funny, the 10" sub I was sold when I upgraded my 88's Supra's audio is that brand. Never heard of it, but I'm decently impressed. Only a 300W unit though, not a boatload of power. They installed it in my trunk firing at the window like shown here, but I thought it wasn't direct or loud enough so I strapped it to the backseat behind me lol.
Not sure if that is bad placement, but it sure as hell helped.

i have a 2006 4th gen eclipse, currently sitting at 213k miles and still running strong. love these cars, and working on supercharging mine... also these motors are choked tight, especially the pre 2009 models with single exhaust. simple coi, headers, and y pipe can open these motors to about 310hp. also alot of other Mitsubishis car parts can be swapped to this chassis with relative ease, want better brakes? take em from an evo8, want all wheel drive, take the rear subframe from the same era endeavor, evo trans, and boom done.

It's nice to see one that wasn't riced out. I haven't seen one of these running in years and I thought this generation was older. The yellow is a unique color. It must have been annoying to put an aftermarket radio in because it's molded into the dashboard.

    • @james_chatman

Hopefully, you've looked into Rockford Fosgate since this video. Someone in the comments said they were a big name in the 90s and 00s. I'd argue that even by the 00s they were sort of a brand of the past, but they had a good enough residual reputation that you could brand a car stereo with their name and give it some prestige. Jim Fosgate was serious pioneer in consumer and car audio.

mines still going strong at 220k, just have to make sure you do the timing belt every like 120k miles, can still find these cheap in good condition too, like 3/5k. have full exhaust, cai, throttle body spacer, and a tune that activates mivec early + pushes redline to around 7400. the 6g75 is a very strong and reliable engine, people swap them into 3g eclipses and mirages to make drag cars. nothing without 2 more cylinders or boost can touch me lol.

THE REASON WHY THEY SAID YOU WON'T FIND ANOTHER MODEL WITH THESE SPECS....LIKE THIS ONE IS BECAUSE.........
#1 it has the Sun and sound package which is very rare for the lancer and the eclipse of the time
I know....... I have a 2004 Mitsubishi lancer Ralliart edition with the very rare son and sound package with the subwoofer and sunroof
    #2 it's the V6 WITH THE MANUAL
#3 the spoiler was an add-on option as well as the wheels as well
    My 2004 Mitsubishi lancer Ralliart
Is the full specked out edition as well
Comes with the same 4 cylinder that this eclipse would have had the 4G 69 which is actually a very good 4 cylinder and has a good amount of torque for a round Town unlike what was said in the video.....
Comes with a front lip rear lip side skirts spoiler bigger wider Wheels bigger brake package strut bars sway bars lower stiffer suspensionthe bigger 2.4 l engine instead of the 2.0 in the lower trim models and the shorter gear transmission the Evo 7 seats Evo shifter
Basically the horsepower of a b16 99 Civic SI but with the torque of a k24 Honda and short gear ratios like a b16 as well
Im a big Honda guy ive been building them since the early 2000s but I have to say that this is a very fun car if you get this model and you do a cold air intake for -1 header full 2.5 inch exhaust V6 eclipse throttle body and the portage and polished intake manifold they're actually pretty quick for what they are

Ah yes, when you could choose between this, an Accord, Altima or G6. All in coupe, V6 and manual form.

Iirc yellow was only available in 2009. Thats why they might not find many in that spec. But there were plenty of v6 6 speeds.

You either die a normal car... or you live long enough to see yourself become a crossover. Looking at you Mustang, Eclipse, Outback, Corolla, Venza, Crown, Bolt and soon, Corvette.

Mitsubishis are the most underrated Japanese vehicles out there. They're quirky, well built, and reliable.

man that interior is hideous, shame because the exterior is really really handsome. I wish they took this generation seriously with performance because it looked great, but when I test drove a v6 it drove pretty bland and didn't steer well. I'd rather buy a base civic or accord if you want a fwd sporty car
