I dragged along my late mother on this hike 40 years ago as a young adult. Watching this video, my first thought was: "what on earth were we doing back then?" 😂 Thanks for bringing back memories!
from my point of view.. one of the best hikes what man can do in Engelberg!! takes time, but.. what the hell.. in the end, this is the kind of hike you want to do... there's literally no other hikers... it feels great, just you and the trail!
That would have been hard for me to not continue. With good conditions this was about a quarter of an hour from the bivac. But I also had to stop the ascent at my first attempt. Firstly, I was a bit too late and then it was so windy, I was afraid to be blown from the early moraine after crossing the creeks. I descended a bit and when I saw another guy going up, I tried again and made it to the first scrambling section where it was about half past four. As I found the scrambling part a bit scary (no ropes) and I didn't know what to expect from the continuation, I sadly turned back again. One or two years later I happily arrived at the bivac and stayed overnight. I think, I have to go there once again. I didn't like the middle-upper section, though, where it is very steep with small stones. You always seem to make two steps and slip back one.
thanks,, and yeah you are right.. this is really important, about adding the date I will do it.. in my next videos.. now I got some travel videos coming soon, little bit different from my content.. hope you guys are still gonna enjoy this.. we live only once, right? thanks again and enjoy.. ;)
