Very beautiful hike indeed but of all the SAC huts I've visited this one was definitely one of the most challenging to reach ! PS : schocked to hear about the warden's death !!
hey, yeah thanks for this reply, I also heared about this fatal tragedy.. may the rest in among mountains and glaciers.. like he surely wanted to be.. for me it is not as quite difficult hike, it is long and gut physique is needed.. so you can enjoy..all of this beaty.. I'm gonna gonna back shortly.. as me drone died here as well..
Dakujeeeem krásne, áno je podla mňa.. pokiaľ zoberieš prvú lanovku ráno na Pfinstegg ušetríš energiu no treba rátať s velkou dialkou.. je to na celý deň, pocasie musi suhrat...nerobí sa obrovské prevýšenie, stúpanie je mierne, no sú tam úseky s reťazami ktoré nemusia byť pre každeho, trochu otvorene.. aj keby nestihnes lanovku naspat, stále sa da zíst dole do Grindelwaldu pešo.. +40min.
Hey Patrik! How was the snowfield on 14.10 looking in real life? Easy to pass? Wide enough ? Were the steps deep enough to step in? What about the quality of the snow? I'm booked to go there next week but this snowfield makes me think twice
The snow fields are not so problematic. They will probably be gone by next week. But the steep sections could be problematic, especially when it's wet. Uphill is always easier. The descent could be tricky when it's wet. Unfortunately, the hut warden fell to his death there a few weeks ago. Take care!
Hi.. sorry for late reply, The Snow might be gone now.. but yeah, be sure the Weather is stable, you dont wanna go through the steep part, secured with chains and ropes when wet..
