Generally in India we have debentures that are popular, NCD/Non Convertible debentures are popular in India with the corporate companies like L&T, Shriram Transport, Muthoot. Bonds are against some fixed security, while debentures dont have backing. In case the company gets liquidated the debenture holders get a treatment like creditors.

Good Point. Debentures is the term that is used in general to refer to unsecured bonds. But it is still a type of bond. Now that you mentioned, I do see many in India refer Bonds as secured debt and Debentures as unsecured debt. Its better to call that out as I actually meant all bonds in general including debentures, when I said "Bonds" in this video.
Thank you for pointing that out.

Thank you for the video. I have question in the mentioned example tata motors will give bonds. What that bond will contain? Is it just some written proof or an asset value will be in the bond?On what basis face value of bond is decided?

Another excellent video. Have been sharing your videos to my friends who are starting their investment journey. Personally I have been investing in 90% equity index(mostly VWRA domiciled in Ireland since am non-US citizen and living in singapore-to avoid estate tax issues) for a while now. Am 100% on equity right now, but intend to glide towards allocation for bonds in the coming years when i am closer to retirement. In this regard, had a question for you- do you have some suggestion for bond index ? This is an area an researching and current find AGGU as one option. Do you have some suggestion/inputs in this regard?
Thanks again for the quality content. You are making a positive impact on many peoples lives.

Check out the Bond funds offered by Vanguard here: investor.vanguard.com/mutual-funds/list#/mutual-funds/asset-class/month-end-returns
I personally do not really have any recommendation on that.

Government Bonds- is it worth, instead of corpus lying in bank account?
1.How one can invest Treasury Series I Savings Bond in US, where the interest rate is currently set at 9.62%? How it will compare with treasury EE bonds?
2.Can one invest the maximum cap of $10000 every year? What are the tax implications if held till maturity or premature withdrawal?
3.How can one evaluate new bonds vs old bonds in terms of yield? Or should we invest bonds of nearing maturity, say 2024?
    4. Is it easy to encash after 1 year or procedural formalities exist?
Can you provide a link, if you have already covered in a post?

Whoever holds the bonds at the time of interest payment, gets the interest paid.
