E Mere, you've got to play this right through. Toni Williams standing next to Howard and I went to Avondale Collage. He was a year behind me. He played locally in Auckland. While I played at the Maori Community Center, he used to have a band and played at the Manchester, the Trades Hall and the Ghandi ! To those of you that are playing this tape, Howard was NZ's top entertainer. He never went to any other country other than Australia and was immensely popular for 50-60 years. I remember playing for he and his brothers while I was with Massey Williams before the Quartette was formed. He was awarded the OBE ( Order of the British Empire) and he and Kiri Te Kanawa (I think) are the only ones to have been decorated thus. Unfortunately he is no longer with us. Hey Mere, I notice in the credits that thye Musical Director was Dennis Paul. Kool !!! Must play !
I remember seeing this in 1990 on TV
