- Here we have for our next TIYL upload the book master Michael Aspel outside Televison Centre in West London the former home of the BBC which since 2018 has been the home of ITV's daytime shows such as Good Morning Britain, Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women. Also these studios are the home of the first UK terrestrial TV Show to broadcast live on Twitter in the form of its flagship political discussion show Peston presented by ITV news political editor Robert Peston. For this latest TIYL sting Michael with the help of Alice Beer who nowadays is the consumer editor for ITV's This Morning is after a Liverpudlian who made her name firstly on Fleet Street having worked for newspapers such as The Sunday Times and Daily Mirror but most people know her best for presenting the BBC's consumer advice show Watchdog, Points of View where viewers wrote in to complain and sometimes praise BBC shows and for being "The Queen of Mean" presenting The Weakest Link on both sides of pond. Most recently she became the first female host of Channel 4's long running quiz show Countdown when she took over from Nick Hewer in 2021. Enjoy everyone as Mr Aspel says Anne Robinson the Big Red Book says "You are the weakest link-goodbye!".

How in the world did Anne Robinson go from the bright, bubbly lady we see here to the dominatrix host of THE WEAKEST LINK?
The dominatrix host was just a character she played because thats what was required of her for the show to be a success and it worked :😊

@@swaggerjagg22 Yes. I once heard her in an interview many years ago, and she explained why she acted as she did on the show.
@@Farrah300 Yeah, it fit in well with the format of the series. You know as in a kind of figurative survival of the fittest kind of context.
I think you'll find the latter always existed inside/when no cameras around (note Michael call her tough talking)🎩
2:09 - Studio 2 at Television Centre is still standing in 2020, and survived the redevelopment of TV Centre, and it is now used by ITV Daytime for Lorraine and Loose Women, along with Robert Peston's show.
With some nice bars and restaurants now on the complex.
I ALWAYS thought of her as the smug, brutal host of Weakest Link! I NEVER knew that there was a time where she wasn't! I wonder what she's like now

Somebody could be sat there in the toilet in that exact space as I write this
I think Anne deserved an hour long show as others got. Her life is very interesting and a half hour show seems rushed and omitted much.
