Pseudo Secularism is a new phenomenon. The ideology might not be as aggressive/brutal as hyper-nationalism but it makes the country more vulnerable to outside threats.

To give my answer to the context of this debate, as India/Bharat, being my Mother Land is a Nation by the religion Hindu as well as Secularistic too, when one happen to clearly apprehend from the context from which Hindu Religion is rooted upon, which is Sanathana Dharma, as the basic Dharma Hinduism preaches, eventually means Globally Acceptable Dharma. However this is eventually goes to mean Global Secularism only however, Sanathana Dharma doesn’t relate to any specific Dharma of any specific religion, any times never relates to any person identified by his Religion,never advocates Conversions to any one who loves to follow Hinduism uniquely, though he wants specifically follow Hindu Religion after having followed any other religion or religions.Therefore Hinduism is none the less or nothing little short to mean Global Secularism, as it is a way of leading a Dharmic Life by any human being, nothing short of it. Further in Hinduism, in the Pursha Suktham , being a part of the set of Major and distinct verses of Veda specifically present in the Yajur Veda, however Yajur Veda is one of the distinct Veda out of the 4 Distinct Vedas (Rig Veda, Sama Veda, Yajur Vedaand Atharvana Veda) of Sanathana Hindu Dharma has very clearly stated in its in this Sloka,/verse in Sanskrit, which is a great golden verse which eventually goes to give a subtle meaning, when an Hindu while he is offering his prostrations or Namaskars to Lord Keshava(One of the names of Lord Vishnu), happens to do so, always on an assumption that this Namaskar, which I am offering you now is on behalf of all the Gods or Goddess or Devathas which exists across all religions, happens to be present across the Globe or Universe as a whole “. The Verse in Sanskrit goes like this:
****************Sarva Deva Namaskaraha, Shri Keshavam Pradhi Gechyathi, Shri Keshavam Pradhi Gechathyom Nama ithi*****************************”.
Therefore there happens to exist zero distinction between Hindu Religion and Secularism, Hinduism means Santhana Dharma, which is eventually to mean Global Secularism.
This needs to be deeply understood from people who tend to discriminate Hinduism with Secularism.If understood in this proper and the above mentioned context,everyone across the Globe could appreciate the great theme, that exists in our Great Sanathana Hindu Dharma.

Sure we can have our definitions for Nationalist or hyper Nationalist. You are confusing the known definitions of a Patriot and Nationalist and making them mean the same.
Nationalist don't find fault with their leader and are imbibed with an ideology.
A Patriot would be one for whom Nation is first. Could be a Nationalist who questions the leadership and ideology when it is against national interest.
If tamil and sanskrit are sister languages, then who is the mother language? The main claim of tamil linguists is that, despite sanskrit mix in the current vocabulary, tamil is capable of standing on its own without sanskrit influence. The credit that only Tamil among all indian languages can boast of. However tamil-sanskrit debate has no role on a topic of hypernationalism as tamils are equally proud of India and consider themselves as Indians. There is no doubt about that. Swamy and his ilk bring in the question of tamil only to rob of tamils of their tamil pride and unite every India through sanskrit-hindu-hindi. Tamils and others with regional pride like Bengalis, Malayalees etc would never led themselves into this trap.
The same goes for religion as well. It is possible for a christian or muslim to feel equally as Indian. Owaisi could have easily had the genetic test and proved to have same DNA. That’s besides the point. Most christians and muslims have hindu ancestors, so what? Aren’t they free to pursue the religion they find compatible with their thinking? Aren’t they still Indians and serve the country?
As for nationalism is concerned, the rise in trolls in social media and the change of narrative towards modi/bjp equals india and anyone questions them as anti indians / anti nationals fits the definition swamy himself gave for hyper nationalism. I would go further and say nationalism is itself bad.. patriotism is good.. to know the difference, read tagore. No one can question intelligence failure in pulwama attack, train breakdown on first trip, photoshop or fake news shared by ministers, forged data and lies narrated by PM and other ministers.. because if you do, you are anti nationals. This is exactly what bhakts say.. my country is right.. no matter what.. worse.. modi is right, no matter what.. and media always keeps opposition accountable.
