honestly, using a basket for laundry is quite common, i think? at least where i come from, i do have a laundry basket and yeet my dirty clothes in there 'til it's full, take it to the washingmachine, throw it in and keep the basket in front of the washer, to dump the clothes in when it's done. it's easier to carry everything around and not spill a sock or panty, also i don't have a dryer so i usually hang them on a line i got in a different room, or outside if it's warm enough
