I mean at least once, I would swap some of the ingredients for normal supermarket ones, and see if just client notices any difference, but not in the water, for me every water has a particular taste, I drink only bottled water, granted it's not a "30$ per bottle" water but I won't drink any other water, specially tap water, I got a Britta, didn't like it, gave it to my mom, then I got a filter for the tap, that was another failure, I spent the money and I didn't like it either, I left it on the tap anyways so now my dogs, cats, plants, and to make my coffe get filtered water so not a total loss, but for me has to be bottled water, I got to the supermarket and get 3 cases of 24 for the month, that's 72 bottles and it works for me and my bf, dam I derailed, I'm so sorry

Okay. Just once in my life I was at a fancy work weekend event and a Michelin star chef prepared food, and the theme was vegan. I had lots of food because I was definitely the poorest of the entire group lol and I kinda had a feeling that this is once in a lifetime event for me so I was just filling my stomach with the food. Let me tell you, the food was so delicious and so light and so fresh that I didn’t feel drowsy or sick even after eating obscene amount of food and I didn’t gain any weight from having probably 5 meals per day. Also, the apples I stole/took from the breakfast display were the sweetest, most shiny red apples that I had ever seen and their bite had an echo. Every night I’d return to my hotel room and think that maybe rich people have this glow because they eat such nice, fresh, organic, nutrient dense food. I cry thinking about it, mostly happy tears.
I don't know how to feel about this. I really want to believe that 'the rich people food' is just a hoax and that there is no major difference between normal stuff and rich stuff.

You can even buy lots of local made food at the hardware store, they sell a fantastic smoked catfish that is sooo mellow and melts in your mouth. So in short there is no big secret to rich people’s food, it’s a matter of availability, and I can also assure you that there is a limit to taste, and the amount of flavor you can extract, no matter what skill you have. As a chef myself I can tell you that you can make gold from sh%&t if you put in enough effort. same goes for expensive wines and other alcoholic beverages btw. Best apricot spirit i had was from some no name, under the counter, DIY ,old man moonshine who meticulously selected every god dang fruit he put in!

My bestie love to bought food ingredients from a store like Erewhon which cost much higher than the normal grocery stores cuz she believes the food there is with better quality and healthier. But there're many times I found that the taste of food she cooked with ingredients bought from normal grocery store is much better than those she bought with high costs. I'd rather have better taste experience than to have "healthier" but flat food.🤦🏻♀️

the only reasons I can think of for those prices to be consumed on a daily basis from breakfast to dinner would be either her client is real picky on ingredients for health reasons, traumatized by commoner's cuisine, actually owns those Erewhon thingy and is a part of their marketing strategy, problematic on how they can spend their non-ending inflow of wealth or just genuinely curious how far their food can be made from unique ingredients...
