@@trenchdakid8020 lol genetics, but to be fair I started my locks with a lil bit of hair length, like mini Afro length. But since I got it twisted , it’s been growing faster because of the oil treatment and no washing until retwist.

I had locs but had to cut it off bc I enrolled into a strict high school. After this school year ima get back on that loc journey 💪🏽
I hate that a school made you cut your locs off. It’s not their hair it’s your hair but it’s coo, as soon as you graduate you can do whatever with your hair. 💯

How do you put the olive oil on? Some people on YT like one of the other dread guys said oil will kill your locs and you shouldn't touch it. So I'm trying to figure out how you avoid any issues.
If you put too much oil it will kill your locs. The best way to put the oil on your scalp is to get a bottle with a open top to pour it on you scalp slowly

How do you start locs, meaning what do you have to do on a daily basis to start them?
when u part to do the twists or finger coils does it matter how neat the part is? cuz i might try this on my brother cuz he been wanting twists
The parts don’t have to be the neatest…as long as you use most of the hair in each part for each twist you’re good
I just started my journey last week. I started with the interlock method, bc my hair is soft, and it will unravel easily. My question is , “Do you only get the interlock method for your retwists?” I was thinking of doing the traditional retwists, but I’m confused about which would be better.

It all depends on how fast your hair grows. Everybody is different but it shouldn’t take long for your locs to get that long.
Did you have to deal with itchy scalp early on? And if so how did you deal with it?
Yuh my scalp was itching at first. I would pat my head where it itches and also make sure I oil that part of my scalp

I just did instant locs. My hair was already a decent length so I got some hang time. And. I’m lovin my locs like crazy. My hair type a 2c too so my hair ain’t even a right curl pattern

Every 2 months get your retwist but once you get into your 1 year mark and so on you can push your retwist back to every 4 months

Ayyy gang 🙏🏽 did you start with comb coils?? And I say once every two days put extra virgin olive oil in your scalp. Don’t put too much but enough to cover your whole scalp. You wanna let your hair and scalp breathe and do it’s own thing. Focus on staying hydrated throughout the day and eat good food

Sounds like u need to moisture them also the thicker the hair more product would be needed my hair use to get nappy after like 4 days I changed my product up and now my dreads are better looking

The dents will go away over time. Your hair has to change the way it grows

Not a lot of shrinkage whenever you wash your hair it doesn’t shrink up
