I've been day trading since March. I had my "big loss" I took a step back and moment to get over it. Got back in because I'm not going to let it stop me from something I am truly interested in. Plus, loss is a part of learning when it comes to trading. In March I started with 10 shares. I have worked my way from 10 to 50 to 100 to 200 to now trading 300 shares. There wasn't a set time it was more so when I felt ready to size up. I have been tracking my P/L and currently mainly taking 1 trade a day (sometimes I'll do 2-3) I have had on avg 3 losses or so per month the last couple months. If you're interested take your time. Take what Ross teaches and really listen and be disciplined. The discipline and following strategy is where it's at.
@@CoolBuddy9847 I work FT so I am typically in pre-market only if I see a stock with momentum, news as a catalyst, volume, low float like Ross talks about. If I don't see one or am weary I don't trade. I check the market again while I'm on my lunch hour and have traded during that time.
Ross is unquestionably the best expert on TH-cam when it comes to advising daytraders. I am already a consistently successful trader and daytrader, have done tens of thousands of trades over the years, and I can relate to everything Cameron says. I will keep watching his expert videos because no matter who you are, or how successful, there is always room for learning and improvement. What I find simply stunning is how Cameron so generously shares his accumulated know-how with everyone!!!
Thanks again Ross !! .... After paper trading for almost a year, I was able to setup an account last February with $25k that I don't touch ... I put another $4k on top of that that I actually trade with and I am disciplined enough to keep everything in that $4k window. I don't use any of my buying power when I could at $116k, but instead my buying power is limited to just what's over the $25k "hard stop" I have put in place. Here it is, almost the end of August and I am still going strong and in the green. As you described in the video, I took a hit "learning curve" that nearly took me all the way down to rock bottom ($400 of that $4k) where week after week I was going down ... then I started to become level. Now I can say that my current trend is consistently up and I am well over the $4K that I had started with. ... my latest trend out of 27 trades has been all GREEN with the exception of one RED. Thank You !! I couldn't have done it without you Ross.
when you talked about not having multiple trades going at once, I had to scream out loud "preach" like a parishoner at a baptist church lol... That spoke to me on so many levels... I finally realized that and hearing you echo that just blessed my entire soul.... Your videos actually got me into this trading game... Been going since 3 months ago with a small account ($700)...already hit rock bottom Like Under $50 rock bottom lol...just digging myself out now and your videos are soooooo helpful. Thank you so much
This video was basically made about me. Most everything talked about I've done. Learning, yes, but expensive, was to learn. Thanks for the video, one of your best yet.
Thank You Ross...It's true that I'd love to talk about trading to the wife and friends but nobody really gets it.. So thank you for this forum and especially for the wisdom that I can apply in real time.. Definitely a emotional career..but it's a lot of fun...
I've appreciated all your lessons and knowledge you've shared. It has taught me a lot and helped me set a good foundation for my day trading journey. What I've been doing lately is screen recording my level 2 and T&S along with my charts to help me identify good entries for breakouts and when a good exit would be. I'm also compiling data on other pattern's that I can go back and review later so I can get better or to avoid possible bad trades or false breakouts. This has definitely helped me a lot to get to the next level in my trading and has really helped me with reading level 2 and T&S instead of just relying on chart patterns. Keep up the great work Ross!!
I have taken 1400* trades and started in march, realised a patten being profitable at start most days and then ending red or giving back more than half throughout the day. Still learning
Thank you for this video❤ the 2 rules I break are, 1. Revenge trading, and 2. No following my rules!! But, thank the Lord I stick solid to my risk management!! I've never blown up my account🎉 So my takeaways from this awesome video is follow my set rules, and set my number of daily trades and stick with that.
Lol “You aimlessly buy 10 stocks”. I’m that guy! I’m so glad I failed with small money. Taking quite a few steps back to find a strat that works for my life, but your videos are still helpful Ross, even if someone watching is not a day trader.
No one really talks about once you get over PDT rule and theres nothing to stop you from taking trades anymore except your discipline. My first day off PDT rule was the most ive ever lost in a single day lol it was wilddd
@@tishaperkins-life8164 I went fullll tilt and it was so wild how I just could NOT STOP TAKING TRADES and took loss after loss after loss. I never experienced that feeling before but I’m very glad I did 🙏🏻
I thought I'd kill it, I lost big fast with hundreds of trades a day. Had to top up the account make a few trades then close it down once the move has past.
Love the scenery of that beach house! What a gorgeous house! Subtle message here....if you can figure out trading and make it pay, this might be within your reach. Thank you for the inspiration Ross. Also, thank you for distilling down the essence of what it takes to be a successful trader. It is not an easy pursuit.
Thanks, Ross! I've been following your videos for about a month now and you've been able to get me excited about trading. Looking forward to more content from you! I'm learning a lot!
Hey Ross, tax question, if I am day trading and say I make $1000 one day then lose $1200 the next day, I show a -$200 as a balance. Do I owe taxes on each trades win or the balance at the end of the year?
one of your best videos yet. I love this change of format from the usual style videos. Great tips, biggest take away. Be a professional, treat it like a business.
I don't know why I hadn't considered day trading for income, but listening to you, after having experience in most of these areas, it sinks in at a different level (I started trading in the spac warrants -vtiq to nkla was literally my first stock). Anyway took a small swing at inm, made a profit so tried with more powder on mnts, wasn't looking to catch the whole thing, just in and out with my 20 percent and happy as a clam. Thank you for helping. For those that have experience, id recommend coming back to see Ross' vids for a brush up, you'll see it from a different perspective than when you were just starting.
Hey Ross, What would happen if you bought stocks at a lower price and held them for a potential profit within a 10-minutes, while working with just a 1-minute trading window. Does sticking to a 1-minute trading window mean you need to complete the trade within that 1-minute time frame?
I look at stocks/ day trading like a philosophy. Or like Jiu Jitsu- if you want to become better, you need to practice and learn from mistakes. Never think you know more. Find your own strategy and strength.
Good one Ross. I'm trying to introduce some of my friends to this world and I think this video is a great balance of personal and technical information.
I was feeling overwhelmed looking at 4 stocks at a time. I’m thankful that you shared how you focus on one stock at a time. I can’t wait to try this tomorrow!
I was losing on bad trades, then I changed my strategy and made a 209% return over 5 days. I watch top gainers and focus on the flicker then check for higher than usual volume and a news event. Then the charts will give me the rest of the info I need. I will see what the following week will bring.
Dam it looks really nice out there. Love the videos ross thanks. If I can ask where is that? Not the house location lol but I mean what state is this? it's really nice!
Ross I have a quick question please I’d love a response. When you’re doing a mental stop when stopping out do you sell on the bid or the ask in order to get out quickly on your stop?
Thanks Ross, I would suggest to have the kids work a small job up to 25k to fund their trading account. I just started day trading thanks to your videos and doing everything to protect my account. I put a total of $26k in my account but $25k of the money is in NVIDIA and CD so fidelity only allows me to trade with the 1K remaining. This is how I discipline myself because that money was hard work.
Thank you for the knowledge you have. I have a cash account right now and I do have a hard time following rules and having emotions. So this week I am going to stick to my rules and only do one trade a day for this week.
First week trading with your strategy and already up $700, 5 Green days just one red… I hope it continues, but there are a lot emotions involved indeed that’s the most difficult part because you start to get rid of winners faster and hold losers longer which is the worst thing you can do P/L ratio goes to the toilet
Thank you for this free knowledge. I started watching you with your video on anatomy of candle sticks and I have been hooked since. I am even taking trades with class yet. I know once I do the class, I will be even better. First week of trading, I made $30 overall,Thank you!
Hey brother, are there any free things I can use to start small in day trading? I love your approach, and your videos to be honest. You are less about the false illusions of what can be and provide what the reality is. I want to learn but so much information. Where do you think I can start for someone who cannot pay for scanners and all that?
Hi Ross, thank you for sharing. Always enjoy your video and learn a lot. Will it be possible to answer one question, what price you are entering? Market, ask or your price?
I always had a long-term buy and hold, making 5-10% yearly. this year I was going to day trade - what could go wrong? lol gained $30K - lost $ 30K gain $20K lost $20K so realized I don't know - Ross has been a great educational inspiration, and I love to hear what can go wrong vs the best strategy that never fails, thank you for what you do.
Something about getting the same advice as you’d give your kid that doesn’t sit well. Maybe sticking to your own story is the best approach. This may the message doesn’t come across as demeaning. 😊

What I do is scale in so my loss not huge. Start at 100 if going up get another 100
I did that but i lose mostly on fee and end up not making money@@SslHowie
