1. Decent Name
2. Plain without being boring.
3. Looks well made.
4. Unique touches,like the 12 index.
5. Caseback is really nice.
6. Good choice of movement.
7. Definite Baltic vibes.
Good luck with the campaign, it deserves to do well!
Suggestions:
1. Change the 12 o'clock marker to the bow/arrow of the 'D' in the Sherwood logo, but facing down/toward the centre of the watch, and fill it with lume (obvs)
2. Change the baton markers to double chevrons pointing inward in the style of arrow feathers
3. Reduce the size of the branding on the dial slightly
It's really pretty and it's certainly a unique design! The Sherwood branding could be smaller and lower, something about the positioning that throws off the symmetry.
Agreed, a tad smaller and lower. Also a larger tip on the second hand arrow? It feels dwarfed by the indicies. And the kerning in Sherwood could be tightened around the Os. Still a very well thought out, balanced and unique design, beter than most other first watches. GL!
Maybe not smaller, but a little bit more narrow? I find the letters height very well.
I'm really diggin the look of this watch. The bezel insert is great and I really really like the 12 o'clock indicie. My suggestion, considering this is a prototype and possibly could be changed in time for the Kickstart would be shrinking the arrow head down just a tad as well as the Sherwood branding. Other than that it's a winner in my opinion

It's really pretty, it has that CW/Oris dress diver vibe. I'm quite keen on it TBH. Something that has its own style and the branding is a winner to me👌
Great looking watch - a unique design that is well thought out, with a theme running throughout the whole of the watch.
Stands out from the crowd without being loud.
I think Glynn has created exactly what he set out to do, its a great looking dressy diver.

Really! What is unique looking about this watch? It's just another Rolex diver look alike. Everyone makes them and the Chinese are going to make them better and cheaper.
That SHERWOOD is way, way too big for my liking. Maybe do a SD something or just a bow and arrow or whatever....anything but THAT MONSTROSITY>
The moment you showed these watches I liked them Gary. Well done to the designer! Sherwood a little smaller and Friar Tuck on the back and it would be perfect! LOL. I'm joking about Friar Tuck. I really like the caseback no ghost date.......Respect!
Anyways nice to see something new with its own DNA, and not just a boring ripoff. I'm rooting for this brand to do well!

Being a big fan of Robin Hood I love this watch, Sherwood, Oak, British design wow wow Pip Pip. Great Lume, the Bezel looks great and that arrow third hand is awesome. I want one and will check out this Kickstarter. Gary a startup brand, now that's so great! Great review by the way.
depending on price id see myself getting the green version, changing it to a nice distressed green leather strap and making it a dress watch/desk diver

Very nice and I really like the big 12 and 6 indices. Super legible, look cool, and lots of lume in them. They’re also an important part of setting this watch apart from the myriad of other micro brand divers.
Really enjoyed the prologue, and I wasn't disappointed with the watch. Wonderful. I think this one has excellent prospects.
The logo is great, but a wee bit large on the dial, and much too big on the clasp. I think that looks too gimmicky.

Great looking watch. I like the arrow motif, the bezel, the dial, and it's very legible and elegant -- looks like a winner to me.
As a big Robin Hood fan, I'm all over this!! Love the branding, the arrow motif, and the colors.
I love the huge 12:00 index. It will be easy to orient in the dark! That is a solid first attempt!
What a gorgeous watch. Just about ticks all the boxes for me. Glad the end links are being improved though. Maybe reduce the size of the SHERWOOD branding very slightly so that it fits between the hands at 10 past 2. Think I'm happy with the size of the 12 o'clock index though.

I think it is a good looking watch. I love the look of the green one and can't wait for launch. I am also a graphic designer who loves watches.
I like it. The turned down lugs are a nice feature, it really looks like the case hugs your wrist. The only thing that gives me pause is the bezel, I'm so used to a pip to focus my attention on, this would probably be fine but I'd have forgone the 4 bars or slashes for the 20 minutes and just has a broad arrow or something for the "pip".

That is a very nice watch, I'm picturing the green dial one on a nice brown leather strap. The dial is easy to read which is great, and the strap is really good, as well as the lume. The name is well known across the pond, and probably worldwide! Well done!!!!
Love the concept and there is a lot of play to be made between Sherwood/major oak/bow and arrow.
- I like the idea of the narrow bezel, but then I think it should be 38 or 39 to be in line with it's dressier nature and as a narrow bezel makes it look larger.
- the logo takes too much space, maybe just SW or a logo.
- not sure about the indexes, I think applied aquaterra indexes could be a better option
On a personal note, I think it would have been awesome to see it in green. With the description I immediatly thought of that colour. Like green aquaterra alternative.

Love this, I'm an ex-pat living in the States. Christopher Ward and like are starting a resurgence in British horology. It's great to see another brand on the horizon. A couple of weeks to the Kickstarter, I'm in. Digging the lighting.
Just to add my two cents, I really like the look of this watch. I agree the Sherwood branding could be a bit smaller, but I would be very happy to have this watch on my wrist just as it is. All in all, I think this is an excellent first outing!

Clearly a lot of thought has gone into this. I do like the larger 12 o clock index & the overall aesthetic. That case back is epic too.

I actually love the look of the watch. It’s very beautiful. The name is fitting and has a nice flow to it. As long as the final price isn’t too high then I think it will sell.

it's a very good start, a few minor adjustments and that will be a really good looking watch. nice to see something a little different rather than a copy and paste special. Sherwood on dial and clasp need to be smaller and same with the 12 o clock. sadly at 40mm it's too small for me, any chance of a bigger version at some point?
With a nicely designed "Sherwood Shield" branding much like a coat of arms at the 12 position i think this watch is destined for success.
I like the toxophilitic flourishes such as the arrowhead, the signature on the crown and the second hand. I think the index at 12 and the Sherwood branding could be just a bit smaller, but it's very snazzy. I would also be tempted to set the right side of the 20 minute track on the bezel at 12, but I guess when one has it in hand, one can do whatever one wishes.
I like the idea of a dress diver. I don't recall hearing the cost, but this seems like a lovely option if the price is right.
I remember standing inside the Major Oak as a child in the early 70s, happy days🎉, the watch is pretty cool 😈

For myself it's good enough as is, but one will always find nitpickers who thinks their tastes are the only ones that count.
Nice looking watch but I think the name sherwood needs to be reduced in size. The height of the font is fine but for me it needs to be 2/3 of the current length.
Brand and arrow index too big . Maybe an etched stainless steel bezel would work better as well. Otherwise nice.

Can't see much wrong here. I think the 12 marker is just fine, and the whole design is pretty much perfect and should have a wide appeal. I really like it.
It's a nice looking watch, my only slight gripe is i find the brand name too long for the dial. As always great content 👌
If the 12 o'clock index ends up being a touch smaller, then I would do the same to the logo. It's the first thing that struck me. Logos are a bit too big on the dial and on the clasp in my opinion. Otherwise, awesome design, legible dial, great proportions. Well done! (I might have to get one ..)
This watch took you all the way down memory lane! Digging the Major Oak caseback for sure.
Nice first effort.Branding on the dial could be smaller and the same on the bracelet clasp. Hour markers are overly large and could be reduced to give a lighter look to the dial. The muted bezel is nice,and the bracelet suits the watch apart from the end links.
The movement choice is really good, i've seen the movement in Baltany watches from AliExpress. it's a good no firills, hi beat, movement, no complications that usually get done in plastic like the NH or 4R series. i think having options as far as color removes the identity of the watch, so i would go for just sherwood forest coors, maybe do a 4 seasons theme and do those colors. i would go overboard with lume and AR coating on the double dome as far as layers go. also about that caseback... the engraving is cool and it looks good, however i do find that flatter casebacks do wonders for comfort so i would create a larger flat area that extends towards the edge of the case instead of using the standard jp movement dome for it, even if it's just 1.5 mm across. as far as the lugs going for the arrow theme i will say that on wrist curves are always better than angles. also i hate plastic movement holders, and i do hope he's not doing that. so for advert i would recommend a picture with the caseback opened as well. price: 500-550 with all the prototype finishing done, the screws and so on. The green is the winner in my opinion, and i'd use a combo of bgw9 and c3 on the hands an markers. i always find the very contrasting colors hard on the eyes, and i have seen very good contrast in warmer, softer colors.

Don’t get the 12 o clock marker, think it should be a narrow arrow head. Don’t get why the bezel has no markings, a few more coats of anti reflective coating wouldn’t go a miss
Very nice. Excellent legibility, love the second hand (perhaps a brand feature?) Glynn deserves a pat on the back certainly. And a touch of nostalgia for Gary, can't be bad 👍

Very nice dial., and quite similar to the Chris Ward C65. Agree the index at 12.00 is too big, as is the logo. Hope he gets that bezel action right, but it's very hard with a narrow bezel.

The Kickstarter goes live on 12th Feb. If it all goes well, I will start manufacturing as soon as the funds are available. So I should receive them for aug/sept.

its a nice watch, love the second hand. The only suggestion I can make is to put a 4th micro adjust hole as there appears to be space for it.
I liked the asymmetrical notches in the fletching on the second hand. Nice little detail.
Oh and the branding on the clasp should just be the D with the arrow or the arrow head.

I like it. As you mentioned the arrowhead at 12 is a bit big and I feel that the brand logo on the dial should be smaller and lower, or perhaps the same colour as the depth rating.
I'm also not a fan of the bracelet design. Apart from that it's nice.
I really like the look of this. Also a bit different to other dive watches. I think smaller font on the word Sherwood would be better. Or maybe an applied logo instead with smaller wording above it. Great job Glynn!

Nice looking watch - maybe a little over-thought on the details (one arrow reference like the second hand would be enough). Also, "British Design" might be a thing in Britain but I am not so sure about other markets. Best of success to the brand, always nice to see new players and ideas!
I think the index marker at 12 is more of a shield than than an arrow, and the lug side profile mimics the shape of a bow.

The Major Oak sounds like the Angel Oak on Johns Island in South Carolina. As to the 12 o'clock design, I like it a lot. Definitely want one of those.

Looks like a home run to me. It’s unique, seems very well finished, has a nice movement. Design isn’t my cup of tea but I’d rather see that kind of effort than another submariner/Seiko lookalike.

Beautiful looking watch. The only thing I'm not keen on is the bezel. Possibly create a 12 marker and just leave dots all the way round, and loose the little lines (which I assumed represented Little John's staff held high above the 12. ) Otherwise, awesome looking watch.
I like it, the 12 index looks good to me, but I feel the Sherwood print looks a little wide for the dial. I would have to go green, if I bought one, but it is this or the Academic in my watch budget and I have too many divers.

Gorgeous watch. Love the design details to help it stand out. But the “SHERWOOD” needs to be smaller, a lot smaller.
like the whole of it. Though many say to change the 12 o clock , I would like it the same as not to match the whole watch and make it something different than what you would expect. Besides...it is a shield so what would you have made of wood?wooden shield and of course bow and arrow.
The brand writing is huge, i don't mind the 12oclock marker. The 20min on bezel I'm not a fan of it, the line is too pronounced . The case back is nice, but it could be polished entirely(apart of the middle where the tree is), the same as the back of the watch, it would give a more expensive look.
