MY OTHER TH-cam CHANNEL
I Like Watches 2 - / @ilikewatches2
WHY I OFTEN DON'T MENTION OTHER BRANDS IN MY VIDEOS.
You may have noticed that I often don't mention the original brands that watches I am reviewing pay homage to. This is very intentional and not meant to offend you or the original brands. I lost my first channel in October 2020 which I had spent 9 months growing and invested a significant amount of money in simply because I had mentioned the original brands in some of my videos. There are people who try to use TH-cams lack of understanding when it comes to the difference between homage watches and fake watches to attack other channels and their owners and sadly I fell foul of this in 2020. This channel was also attacked recently and TH-cam deleted content simply because I had said 'subby homage' and 'Rolex homage' in two videos despite the watches in the videos being perfectly legal homage watches. Please understand that I can not afford to risk my channel so I will no longer be mentioning other brands when reviewing homage watches.

Cronos Chronograph L6035M l6035 6035
I have the Zenith watch, and while there is really no comparison in terms of the movement, I think Chronos has done a really good job of capturing the spirit of the watch. The case and hands look really good! And the 1/10 second hand - excellent! I could see getting one of these as my travel watch!
I bought the watch once it’s released, I love it. The detail on the hands is superb for its price. I actually prefer the movement compare to seiko vk64 because there is a running seconds hands sub dial. I am actually wearing the watch while watching your review 😂
OMG! A proper chronograph movement. I might buy this just to support using good movements.
No 24 hour subdial! That’s a win for me!
The name Cronos is at least much better than all other Aliexpress watches. Is this why they put it so prominent on the dial?
I agree , better than the Tandorio name i must say .
I've had this watch with the brown leather strap for a couple of weeks and I love it.The quality as always with.Cronos is superb. I happy with the quartz movement makes a change from the mecca-quartz. I would recommend it to anyone. 👍👍👍👍👍
I prefer the sweeping reset as opposed to the snap back reset. I might even sell my Sugess Zenith homage and get this one.
Very nice, like it a lot BUT who made the choices regarding the dial text? They were SO CLOSE on this one. It is *NOT* a dive watch, get rid of the "Sapphire 100m/330ft" over the sub dials, move the "Chronograph" to that position. Cronos seems to do this every time, they make a nice watch and then make some silly mistake(s).
Boom! Thanks Gary for exposing this gem! Just ordered it after seeing your review. Finally chronograph that ticks ALL of my boxes: 6s20 and not a meca, dimensions, nice and acceptable branding, boxed saphire, not a rolex or omega but zenith homage and delivered so well, like a proper chrono, with all the markings and hand coloring as it should be. And lastly the price! Been on a lookout for a year, considered a ton of afordable chronos and not one had it all. Thank you sir!
Still can't get over the quality of the (not a CW), the 39mm (not an Explorer with 60h power reserve) and the (not a GMT Master) I have in my collection. The finishing on all of those is outstanding.
They do finish them really well, currently wearing my Cronos made J&G Exciton
I do LOVE my Exciton watch also
It is a beautiful piece.
I increasingly care less about the movement, and more about the finish, and materials. One thing that always persisted is the intolerance for misaligned seconds hand. You can stick a 2 pound quartz movement for me, if you get the alignment, finish, and use decent materials!
Thanks Gary. You always keep videos fresh.
Out of my collection of Chronographs, only 4 of them have the usually static second hand resting squarely over the 12 o'clock marker, the other 2 are annoyingly off centre. On a less expensive quartz, this would be supremely annoying watching it tick forwards onto each half seconds position when using the chronograph.
Have a couple of manual wind mechanical Sea-Gull ST1902 movement watches where the alignment is bad too which is very annoying one being the Sugess Breitling Deus homage and the other, the Cadisen homage of the same watch but with square pushers. Why they always seem to mess up alignment on the Chrono hand is beyond me, the other hands are exactly as they should be. Thankfully these watches are mechanical and beat at 4 times per second or thereabouts so fuctional wise, I just add ¼ of a second to the measured time 😂.
Nice looking watch for the price. And the movement seems much better than the Seiko that is in Baltany military chronograph, for instance. I have the Baltany and the movement is lousy and annoys me, because every time I push the chronograph reset button, it moves the minute hand slightly for some reason, so it messes up the minute hand alignment.
What a beauty. The finishing is fantastic, and I have my own fine leather strap collection that would fit this watches dial color perfectly, so they can put whatever strap they want. I like the Miyota quartz movement they chose, for the simple reason of the reset rotation of the seconds hand, I've always liked watching that. Thanks for the review.
The Myota is much better than the Seiko chrono movement - the tenths of seconds subdial is much better than the pointless 24hr subdial
Both are dumb, we don't need tenths of a second on an analogue chronograph, we need hours elapsed
You can use the 24h subdial as a fixed GMT if you adjust the hand to a defined position.... But yeah, useless otherwise.
@@xpusostomos Well - yes that would be ok instead - but the 24hr dial has to be the most pointless.........
@@chrispenn715 it's not completely pointless, if you're in the arctic circle, caving, in a submarine, or just drunk you can not know if it's am or pm. It's also handy for setting the time without doing a revolution of the hands.. it's just weirdly out of place on a chronograph.
@@xpusostomos 😂 Haha - its also good for separating day from night if you are stuck on the space station thanks to Boeing
NGL, that's beautiful, and it does what it says on the tin. Kinda makes you question what similar watches that cost multitudes more could possibly bring to the table to justify the price.
I prefer the Miyota 6S20/21 chrono movements over the Seiko mecaquartz every time. Just don’t like that Seiko movement. Otherwise, the only items I think detract from this watch is the text “Chronograph” (yeah, I can tell by looking at the watch and the extra pushers) and “Sapphire” (yes, that crystal is a selling point, but no need to point it out on the dial). Otherwise, a beautiful watch.
Just ordered it after seeing your review. Things that i liked are 6s20 movement and dimensions, nice and acceptable branding, boxed saphire, really overall nice finished watch! Price was form me 163 Euro. 😏
How do the chronograph pushers feel? I find quartz chronograph pushers sometimes feel very mushy when pressed. I do appreciate having the other two watches in the lume comparison at the end as references, and I also appreciate how you position the watches so they are not covered by the title cards for the "recommended" videos.
Oh wow. I genuinely like this one. And for the price, it’s almost a no brainer. Bet it would look great on a vintage bracelet also. And I’m good with the movement also. Thanks!
Awesome! That is definitely my next chronograph, zero doubt.
Considering the Zenith is all about the movement inside rather than the somewhat generic looks, it's hard to capture the "spirit" of the watch on looks alone. A 1/10 Sec register was a smart nod in that vein.
Lume ain't bad at this price either.
Good looking watch.
Cronos do make solid, quality watches 👍
I agree with some of the comments in that the Cronos branding and text needs to be a bit smaller. Also the subdials need to be a little bit closer to the centre.
Great review btw 👍🇬🇧🙂
Very nice watch, though I wish the sides were brushed. I agree about the movement, the Miyotas are good alternatives, especially for the VK64, as the "Bicompax" version 6S21 has a running second where the VK64 has a 24 hour complication. By the in terms of customer service Cronos tops San Martin imho.
I like the watch I got from MAMACOO. That rubber strap combo looks really cool! Been wearing it since last year and love every minute of it.
Would recommend saving up a few more dollars for the Orient solar chronograph.
Very impressive! Homage or not, I think this may be one of nicest looking, best quality AliEx watches I've seen for that or any price. I could easily envision a Swiss logo on the dial. And I agree that Cronos is far from the worst brand name.
Not my cup of tea, but I can appreciate the VFM. Nothing wrong with that movement at all
Half the text and would be a far better looking watch.
Yep. No idea why sapphire is printed around a subdial 😑
Very nice, but odd text decisions
Hey bud, hope you're well!
@@ilikewatches All good here thank you dude, hope you are all well :)
Have you reviewed the Sugess Homage to the breitling top time deus? Looks very similar to this. Tempted by the Sugess
Love the 4.30 date position. Very handsome watch, could be the first Cronos I buy as I have tended to stick with San Martin and in automatics lately. Beautiful box Crystal too. I don't personally find the dial text too much although maybe smaller fonts would have been preferable and the Sapphire marking around the bottom sub dial looks reasonable to me clearly homaging the Daytona sub dial text. Thicker applied markers and hands look good.
Already have 3 mechaquartz in Pagani format watches so will be happy to try the Miyota movement on this occasion. The screwed on back is not a deal breaker but screwdown always to be preferred even though this is not a watch for swimming.
The strap is a rather poor choice though with the faux crocodile appearance, needs a hand stitched unpolished leather option in grey possibly, maybe Ostrich Leather some of which look amazing. Would likely choose the rubber strap out of the available options. For an extra £10, a better strap should always be made available and also a bracelet in Stainless Steel but no fiddly butterfly clasps thank you.
On reflection, I will be buying this watch and a grey or red/orange Ostrich Strap to suit and binning the faux Croc strap, I wouldn't even fit that to a £10 Plastic WangBang special off eBay.
Great movement
I must admit that on your videos watches look great. I recently bought new San Martin SN 0129 with oil pressed dial. On your video this watch looked stunning but in reality this watch looks only ok. Most of the time dial look very flat and only in direct sun i see details. I bought purple one and maybe there is a contrast problem with this color.
Quick question, sir - I'm not generally an Aliexpress user.
If you include an affiliate link, does that mean you consider that particular seller to be reputable/trustworthy?
Thanks.
It means that if you buy the item he gets a small commission.
@@popofofo4701 I know. My question is a little different, though. 👍
More a way of guiding you to the particular seller or business that the channel owner bought from I would say. I find it useful as these will often be a reliable supplier selling at the most reasonable price with a good buyer experience.
There is sometimes a kickback to the channel owner but not all such links are affiliate links, more a convenience to save people constantly needing to ask in the comments- 'Where did you get this watch from?'
Ali Express are actually a good platform to buy from though it took me until last year to decide to set up an account with them. Many people are hesitant to buy from them but in all honesty, they are just as reliable as eBay or Amazon to buy from. You can select European warehoused products on certain things should you need quicker shipping, other than that, much of the stuff ships from China and with better tracking than eBay. Had my fingers burnt a few times on eBay with non shipped items and then other items 'Lost in post' allegedly. Not experienced this so far with Ali Express after ordering probably in excess of 100 items this last year. Watches in particular, if you put them in your basket and then wait for their Sale Offers which are always very well advertised and 4 to 5 times per year, you can make some great savings on them. Had some very nice deals so far on watches including higher brands such as San Martins, etc., and the choice is fantastic.
So yeah, it’s not me ha-quartz, BUT it has a .10 second subdial instead of a 24 hr, so it has replaced the most pointless of all subdials with one that actually has utility for a chronograph. Beautiful timepiece.
But my reservations about the Ali Express brands stem from concerns about labor practices. I fear that the low price is achieved at the expense of the men and women who actually build/assemble these watches. That’s honestly the only reason I’ve hesitated to pull the trigger on one so far.
Hello Miyota movement! Whrer have you been my whole life? Inhate that VK series with the useless slaved 24 hiur subdial. My original chronos is one of my favorite watches. I think I'm picking this one up. Does Chrinis participate in sales?
Why is the sub dial second hand ticking? Is that portion quartz?
Yes, it’s all Quartz…
@@ilikewatches the whole movement?
Hi Gary, you - again - have me buying this watch ! 😊
lol, sorry…looks impressive though doesn’t it!
It does, and for a fraction of the price for the real deal, that appealed to me as Dutchman enormously...😊
very nice watch and a good movement dimensions?
It does look good, even in closeups. I like the movement they use. Why dont other microbrands use that, instead of Seikos VK63/64? All that said, I still dont trust fully chinese brands.
Cronos is one of the more reputable and higher quality Chinese brands. Says a lot if one ranks them as very close to a San Martin.
@@96kyh cronos use to make San Martin watches, so they're able to make quality pieces.
This is the sort of price/finishing ratio that only comes with $40 a month labour... Not a knock on Ali as the Japanese, Swiss and Timex use Chinese manufacturing too but either charge more or give you poorer finishing
Most of the finishing is machine made, so it's not labor intensive. The cost of the other watches are so much higher because it's not direct to consumers like the Chinese companies. Seiko and all the name brands have to deal with retailers, shippers and all the middle men wanting their cut so the price is typically like 25% of the retail costs.
I need a speedmaster homage in this size.
Nice looking watch.
compare it to sugess!
that needs a ladder bracelet! 😂
now its 175
Sad these brands can't manage to fit their watches to a bracelet.
The tenth second register always makes a watch look broken lol.
never looked at it like that but I get what youre saying, it is unusual to see a hand spin like that :)
You mean like my Zenith CMS? If you aren't used to that the main chrono hand moves fast.
Looks really good, except for the overly proportionate logo and text. I just can’t ignore it. 😢
WHY?! Why print "Sapphire" on the dial? Why?!
Dont know about zenith, i think it very closely resembles a CRONOS...
Its gorgeous.
Any watch dial with the text “sapphire” looks cheap as hell to me.
To me it looks more like a Tag Carrera than Zenith.
Cronos the second
Kerning on the P-H of SAPPHIRE is wayyy off. Make's it look like a much cheaper watch. When a brand doesn't bother to pay attention to details that would cost nothing to fix, it's a hard no.
Also the C-R of CRONOS and the 0-F of 330FT
@@gefthetalkingmongoose had to learn what kerning means lol. Luckily that kind of discrepancy doesn't bother me anymore 😅
Pricezed like a st19 for a quartz movement. No matter how many times you call it mecha-quartz doesn't make mechanical. I bought a 7753 cloned Monaco in the last sale for less.
I didn’t call it a mecha Quartz once….not once 😂
@@Menda_Lerenda What is a 7753 cloned Monaco ? Can you share the brand & model ?
It's 208$, not 145 as claimed.
for me it comes up as £134 which is about $175
There have 30 usd coupon, after collect the code, if it's still over 145 usd, you need to check if you have to pay extra sales tax in your country.
Aren’t aliexpress watches made mostly with russian metals?
No, they’re made out of israelian metals. Why asking?
@J0hnny8ravo dude what are you talking about? I said RUSSIAN METALS, not israelian why tf are you talking nonesense 😂😂😂
@@killac45, Russian Federation is bad, Israel is good, so Ali Express watches are good.
@J0hnny8ravo you must be trolling ok ciao
Cronos is better than SM in almost every aspect. And they also vet the movements before installing
Sorry, but it's the usual from me - love the watch, love the brand, but where is the 40/41mm version, FFS?
I and many others will not consider anything smaller (not for fashion reasons, but for wrist reasons).
But, man, look what you get at a quarter of the price of the Seiko Speedtimer!
Love it
Put your makeup on? Don't you mean have a shave?😂😂
Still looks cheap ngl
£20 movement is not disposable? Ok boss.
🤮🤮🤮
I can do my make-up in the mirroring......? What..? A bloke goes natural...no eyeliner...no lipstick..please..!!
