" leave no stone unturned " is right for such a brief video , young man ! I am 67 and trying to learn blueprints for house framing , and you are my tutor !
I'm in a Pipe trades apprenticeship and in Print Reading class right now. I cannot begin to say how complicated and overwhelming reading drawings can be!
I'm a Project Engineer based here in the Philippines. I really learned alot from you sir. Thank you and keep up the good work. Godbless you and take care. 😁
Would love to see more of this for basic site plans! E.g. what different lines mean, what slabs, columns, beams look like in a drawing etc! (For new engineers xD)
I love watching your videos. As a Civil Engineering student specializing in Construction Engineering and Management it helps me understand a lot on what I might face later in life.
Your video format was arranged properly; simple to follow, and comprehend. No comment was unnecessary.all comments were information. You're classroom and textbook approach has a positive professional appeal. And, I could understand everything you said, proper annunciation makes it easy to listen and learn. Well done!
Kienen, Thank you for these videos! I recently made a big leap to a Superintendent. My area of most concern was reading the plans and understanding how to find the details. This video was exactly what I was looking for! I am looking forward to watching more of your videos. Keep up the good work!
Keep these types of videos coming! Currently working on my bachelor's in Construction Management, and I would love to keep learning from someone who is already in the industry. Great video!
Hey, absolutely love your videos! More videos on aspects of teaching construction would be super helpful. Maybe even a whole series. Keep up the amazing work!
You’re the man Keinan! Steadily but surly learning more and more about this new career path I’ve choice after completing my MBA. Your videos are oh so practical and beyond helpful while I’m nearly two weeks into my internship! Thanks a million.
That's funny, I'm in the exact same position as you. Finished engineering this past May and graduate MBA this coming May. Start as a project engineer for a GC in June.
Been in architecture for 6 years and this video is super helpful! Would love a video on how you tackle the first preview of a CD set. Milestones or passes when you need to visit the next construction sequence.
Great info👍🏻🫡! I'm on the journey to becoming a developer, and I know this stuff is more for engineers and architects, but it's to my benefit to know how to read drawings like this as well.
Kienen, I LOVE THESE VIDEOS !!! IT IS SOOOO HELPFUL ~~~~ I am taking a construction blueprint class right now....currently just doing isometric views on blocks and cubes, not as advance like your video yet. Please do more videos on architectural drawings and structural drawings
I’ve been watching and going over your older videos ever since you did long a collab with Mat Picardal and I’ve been enjoying it. These videos are refreshing from the usual auto-pilot that I do in working. I know this video is over a year old and it’s intended to give an idea how to read plans. I hope I don’t scare the younger and aspiring engineers with this one but perhaps you could go over briefly what to look out for with specifications, technical reports, and contract documents. I used to dislike (since I prefer drawings over long worded paragraphs, I don’t know if I’m alone with that part) them but after going through them regularly, just kinda got used to it. Keep up the great videos!
I recently started an inspector position, entry level. I found myself trying to read rebar blue prints, and could only understand about 25% of it. Could you do a rebar breakdown, specifically for concrete pours?
Kienen! Great stuff! I'm a heavy equip operator...could you make a video on reading plumbing layout as it regards to new construction, in other words...where and how to dig the plumbing trenches, what depth, etc...basically how to read a plumbing layout and how to spray paint the layout for diggers like me;) Thank you!
Great job, loved the video, would like to see a video that includes water, electrical and air and how you could use a blueprint from the build to determine best place to access these utilities for a new piece of equipment being installed in a room. Where to pull these resources from to connect to new piece of equipment such as an MRI, CT or X-ray device.
I did chemical engineering so I can read P&IDs, but now work in construction so have to read construction drawings! I struggle most with civil and structural drawings :( love your videos though!
Can you please make a video for just painting finishes starting with just opening a full set of prints and navigating to the arch area of prints? Then dissecting the paint in the Architectural area? Please and thank you! Well explained by the way.
Your videos are really helping mee..please keep making contents like these related to civil engineering. You're awesome! And I appreciate youu..thank you so much♡
I could tell just within the 1st minute of your video that you were from Hawaii. Mahalo for the content, I started as a laborer 2 years ago and want to progress with this as my career choice so I’ll be watching more of your videos!
Fantastic videos, I think you should do videos on some basic 'fundamantals' that every aspiring CPM should know, then create videos for each of these fundamentals in more detail, perhaps by even visiting/filming the site for progress. Cheers!
Love your channel Kienen. Please do put up more technical videos such as these. Even more videos on drawings will help a lot. Thanks a ton for this. Big fan.
Can you make a video that on how to understanding structure drawing and to transition it to mechanical and electrical shop drawing? Need your help for my first construction project.
Would you ever do a video on submittal review and tracking? As a new project engineer at a smaller company I have found I’ve been “thrown to the wolves” to figure this out. Hearing other people’s process would be extremely helpful.
WOW I Had this same experience starting with both small and mid size gc I was thrown to the wolves constantly and left to figure out the process and programs on my own and would never get help or answers when asked.
Hey kienen! Could you do a video on submittal processing from the contractor perspective? Also RFI and change order processing and some tips on what to pay attention to! Thanks. Love the videos
Hey, just saw your day in the life video and I had a question about that. Considering the work life balance isn’t great in your profession, do you see yourself doing this temporarily, make good money, and then move to a position where you have better work life balance, or do you just enjoy work that much that you’re willing to sacrifice not having much of a life outside of it? I’m on track to getting a construction management degree and it’s a perspective I’d really be interested in hearing. By the way great content, keep it up 👍🏽
Great question Moises. Honestly as of now, I'm not quite sure. My initial thought is to keep doing this until my priorities shift in life and my day to day operations become a drag. As of now, it's super fun, very interesting so I'm just doing as much as I can now to build a good foundation for the future.
hello Kienen, i really enjoy your videos, i am a civil engineer from mexico, and i have had the opportunity to get a job in the United States. i will start work in the next two weeks. i have experience in my field, however and being honest i feel a little worried about my english because i can understand and talk but i have no experience in a professional way. Your videos are helping me a lot to learn especific words realated to our field (civil engineering). i just have a doubt. are you a native english speaker? cause sometimes that is my problem. native speakers use slangs, idioms, informal english, contractions etc. and that is difficult for me get their ideas. but i can understand your videos completely. thank you man! your channel is interesting.
