Amfleet cars are ugly, glad to see the Venture coaches. I mean rolling stock that is 40+ years old is simply unacceptable. They're more obssessed with the locomotives than passenger comfort.
@@jtkm wrong! Anything that’s modern is ugly on trains like these! They need a retro style charm, which makes it feel more luxurious. Besides they need to care more about comfort if they want to have any chance of winning against airlines

Those venture cars are gorgeous. Do you know when they might be put into regular service? I rode the San joaquins a couple weeks ago and was bummed to ride in old cars. I did see an SC-44 though so not all bad!
Did you have the Comet Cars or the Superliners? I ask because yes the Comet cars are "old" but they were rebuilt several years ago at a cost of $2 million apiece. We've needed new equipment for a long time, that's for sure. I love the look of the Venture cars.

I have been riding Brightline in Florida, so I know these cars, because they are quite the same. Comfort, noise level, seats, all good. Perhaps bi-level cars would have fit to the role better, but Rotem messed it up big time, when they got the order for the new California car.
No, these Venture cars are ONLY specifically for use on the San Joaquin, as the name suggests on the top middle of the cars. The bilevel cars are not going anywhere
@octa 5501 No, the Siemens Ventures are all going to the San Joaquins. The San Joquins will retire all of its Horizon cars and their Bilevel California cars will go to the Capitol Corridor and the Surfliner. Some bilevels might stay on the San Joaquins but it will eventually be a Railjet-like intercity service with all Siemens rolling stock.
I think the Ventures are only going to the San Joquins for now. But the CC and the Surfliner will get the San Joaquin's newer bilevels. But eventually they might upgrade all the California state routes to them.

That scoop on top of the charger needs to be taken off it’s looks very stupid now.... also I got a question, the paint scheme on the passenger cars are not really the same on the engines yes the colors are the same but everything else is not... so are they going to repaint the engine to match the coaches?
Captain Jeau The scoop is a mod (modification) mainly for the California cars specifically on chargers for Amtrak Cal. Once they’re gone it’s an easy removal. Regarding the paint that’s a good question, the scheme on the chargers now are for the CC, so once CC gets their venture cars it should match but now with the SJ cars I’m not sure. All I know is that CC and SJ use a variety of different engines to operate so it’ll be a little while for everything to match. They're very streamlined. Truth be told, they look a lot like cars or "carriages" on passenger trains in the UK, especially with those bolster-less air suspension bogies or trucks.
