When you're talking about stat improvement, it's important to compare age and time played. Kareem for example increased that much PPG, but reduced minutes. Most of these guys have similar MPG between year 1 and year 2. Wemby only averaged sub 30 mpg. It's not crazy to see him average 36-38 mpg. He's the only one that's likely to see noticeable increase in time. His age is a year or 2 younger than most of them except Lebron, which is actually a big factor.

Wemby's first season metrics were altered by his low minutes and many games without a true PG. His sophomore year will tell much more than his rookie year did. I guess if not injured he will be closer from 30/14 than from 25/12. Many more easy buckets, a better spacing team, a real floor general : I wouldn't be surprised if he gets MIP and DPOY.

If you were to build your perfect basketball player, chances are he would look nothing like Wemby. That's how outrageous his pairing of physical proportions and skill truly is, most would have never thought it possible. Wemby has all the traits to be one of the greatest. But have to bear in mind in the modern NBA, it’s harder to win multiple titles like MJ and the Chicago Bulls did. I won’t even bother mentioning the Bill Russell and the Celtics. In their respective eras, the NBA was not as competitive. In this era, the West is scary competitive. We are in a parity era now with the second apron. You just can’t have more than 2 max players. If you do, everyone else are on minimum contracts and when the role players have higher value the following season, they would want their own bag and leave. If Wemby wins 3 titles, to me that is enough to be in the GOAT conversation.

Those career projection numbers are low. Victor Wembanyama averaged 26ppg 13rebs 5assists 4.3blks per 36 minutes as a rookie.💯

If you were to build your perfect basketball player, chances are he would look nothing like Wemby. That's how outrageous his pairing of physical proportions and skill truly is, most would have never thought it possible. His only limitations will be injuries and his mentality, otherwise he has everything at his disposal to be the GOAT.

Wemby has all the traits to be one of the greatest. But have to bear in mind in the modern NBA, it’s harder to win multiple titles like MJ and the Chicago Bulls did. I won’t even bother mentioning the Bill Russell and the Celtics. In their respective eras, the NBA was not as competitive.
In this era, the West is scary competitive. We are in a parity era now with the second apron. You just can’t have more than 2 max players. If you do, everyone else are on minimum contracts and when the role players have higher value the following season, they would want their own bag and leave.
