Judging by the rest of your videos, as well as this one, it is clear to see that you have a strong grasp on the 555 timer's inner workings. I would love to see a video with your viewpoint on how a monostable and astable timer actually works; r-s flip/flop, voltage divider, etc. There are just not enough quality videos like this on youtube.
This will be great to use for cleaning and balancing injectors. Might have to build a multi injector test bed that I can use to check balancing after a cleaning process on them. Six injectors, one circuit per injector all triggered by the same switch with graduated cylinders to measure fuel throughput...
That is why the 1N4742 diode is in the circuit. It protects the MOSFET from the back EMF voltage. Check out the schematic on the DinoFab project page. Just Google "DinoFab projects" and look for the fuel injector tester.
Now this I like! This would be great for cleaning AND flow testing injectors (always good to bring in a couple spares and use the closest matching injectors)

This is cool man! I found this while searching failed PCM injector drivers. I have a #4 Ford 500 injector signal wire thats staying grounded. The result is gas literally dripping out the tail pipe and loads of white smoke. The ground is coming all the way from the PCM because my test light goes out when I unplug the injector harness from the PCM. Of course the injectors are still hot on the hot side with that plug out or else the test would be invalid. With it plugged in and cranking there is a pulse but the light never goes out.
Nicely done. I was hoping to see an injector pulsed though. You need to simulate a pressurized fuel rail and then use maybe a glass mayo jar so you can observe the fuel spray, right? Fooling with a toyota fuel rail, I found that if you really need to reuse those crush washers, it's best to heat them up in the flame of a propane torch and either quench them or set them aside to cool (copper softens upon heating and hardens by being "worked")

This is a really cool project, one I've been meaning to build for a while; I have been getting into electronics through my job and my megasquirted Audi. I have a question about the monostable circuit. Is the timer started over every time you let go of the button and push it again, so that if you kept pushing the button before it timed out you could just keep the circuit on, or does it need to count all the way out?
The button times out even if you keep holding it. If you want to just trigger a steady pulse train, use the astable circuit only by applying power to pin 8. Normally the output from pin 3 on the monostable circuit would do this for 1 to 5 seconds. If you mod the circuit by just adding a switch to do this, be sure to put another 1N4742 protection diode between pin 3 and the switch where it connects to the circuit. Put the cathode (stripe) towards the switch. That way when you apply power to the astable side of the circuit the diode will not allow it to go to pin 3 on the monostable side of the circuit.

I know this video is an older one and I apologize if I missed it, but I didnt see a controller like arduino or rasp-pie. Was this controlled entirely by the pcb you made?? I am somewhat new to diy small circuits and I am eager to learn more. Also, I read in a few different places that the amp draw for a fuel injector is somewhere around 950 miliamps. That could be garbage. I am not real sure. Again, awesome video!
