Daniel Balavoine, Michel Berger and France Gall were close friends, indeed. When Balavoine died, Berger wrote a song about it for France Gall to sing, here it is: th-cam.com/video/eXsox2-70VE/w-d-xo.html
I don't know if you know it but Michel Berger was France Gall's husband. He's still considered as one of the greatest composers of all times in France and he composed most of the songs from France Gall. Thank you for your reaction and I would like to recommend to you these songs from Michel Berger : "La Groupie du pianiste", "Celui qui chante", "Mademoiselle Chang", "Les Princes des villes", "Y'a pas de honte", "Chanter pour ceux qui sont loin de chez eux" and " Ça ne tient pas debout". All these songs are really great so I really think you should appreciate them. Have a nice day and thank you.

Yes, to me the vocal style of Michel Berger always was to just sing like if he was talking to you, without trying to do vocal performances. It's always direct to the point and there's never too much or too less. It's always exactly only what the songs need. It's pretty much the opposite of 90% of the singers today who try too hard to impress and the songs sometime suffer from it. Michel Berger impressed by the music and the songs, and it's pretty much all that matters in the end.
This song was played at my grandfather's funeral. It's so beautiful. The lyrics are very meaningful as well. I'll always love it. First💪 Michel Berger was very meticulous about arrangement and orchestration. Of course he was helped by a professional arranger but always kept control on it.
From Michel B.: "La groupie du pianiste", "Les princes des villes", "Quelques mots d'amour", "Chanter pour ceux qui sont loin de chez eux". He was a great composer, he was one of the most "groovy" in the french pop of that time.
