Great video mate! I'm a mechanical engineer by trade turned tree man many years ago! I've always tinkerd with porting and all that crazy stuff from my motor cross days. I made a similar pipe to yours on my ported 372 mines completely tucked inside the original muffler box you can't even tell what's going on. Till you fire the saw up and then heads turn! . I've also found if you cut a couple 1" holes in the back of the air box and glue a mesh screen on the inside to stop big chips that along with your exhaust and a good port job really moves some air!
Yeah Boy!!!! I love that I’ve finally caught your inner smile look... I love that look in your eyes when you are like...”it’s on the freakin money,son!!!”... that saw’s gonna straight rip a chain!!! Dang it...man!!! Looks like that’s one to keep in the back of the old head now too! I’m not going to miss a p45!!! Since I know now how to get one singing!!! Awesome build Caption!!!!
Just love the way you so readily share your knowledge and tips Iron Horse thank you for your exhaust building master class! I really do enjoy learning from you and hope you come to Australia one day so I can meet you and thank you in person.
Have you experimented with shorter and longer main pipes to see what length gives the best gain. I would assume the shorter ones would make more peak hp and longer ones would give more torque in the cut.
G'day mate. I've got my ported 372 and I've experimented with both and ended up making one to fit inside the original muffler box so you can't even tell what's going on. And I've also found my saw liked the short one better more pull and a sweeter top end .
Looks like we both need mufflers for them old white tops. Honestly id like to keep it looking stock. I really dig the way you hide that pipe in a stock muffler. But im not sure we could quite call them mufflers. Maybe a bent pipe
Hi I'm new to the channel and I'm a loger in southeast Indiana and I love your videos and I really enjoy watching your builds ...I have a good running stock 576xp and I was thinking about hotroding it a little bit ..what would you recommend doing ...thanks in advance
Harvey would I see much change on a stock 266xp by putting your muffler design on it? I haven’t done anything internally yet its well used and haven’t decided what to do with it yet, just run it as a spare now. Thanks for video really enjoy them!
This was a damn neat video Harvey!! I'd love to build a pipe for my ms460, right now it's just got a gutted factory muffler and the big dummy didn't (me) know anything when he did it and made the discharge hole to big so it's rather inefficient, at least I think in my untrained and uneducated train uh thought. The other thing is I HAVE TO without question run a screen here in the hyper sensitive fire danger area of central oregon I live, fall maybe and probably for sure in winter I could run without one but to me it's not even worth the chance to start taking it out for certain times of year then forget to put it back in when the other time comes around...........and my kids already think its to loud to work around when we cut and sell 30-40 cord a year so I have a hard time making it louder when the 4 of them at ages 11 to 5 are busting their butts along side my wife and I to make it less fun than it already us lmao.
That poulan sounds amazing. Since your on the exhaust talk I have a general question. What size pipe would your recommend for different size saws. I know 70cc saws should be different than a 50cc.
Do you ever put a spark arrestor screen on your mufflers? I know a lot of people don't like them. Lol Have a great day Ironhorse!.. God Bless Your Family!.. ♥️♥️🎃🎃🙏🙏
Hello Henry I'm a huge fan of the channel. I've recently been bitten by the chainsaw bug I just purchased two 372xp huskys to build,I've owned a 61 practica for several years and it's ready for rebuilding I emailed you the serial number in hopes that you can decode it so I get correct parts. Keep up the great job on your channel I've learned a great deal
i built one of your pipes for my 660 and the difference was unbelievable. Thanks for the info you share on the channel.

If you want to speed up your round plugs, use a hole saw to cut them then just weld the pilot hole shut.
Iron horse I have a old 61 that I want built by you I love your work and I trust you fully
Hey Harvey great videos inch and a quarter for 385 husky do you think
sounds good 202 intake 160 ex lift 540 with a 850 DP

How about putting velocity stack and k&n air filter onto that 455 to have even more air go tru it... ?
Been doin that except I use an aluminum adapter instead of a velocity stack ... if done correctly you notice more torque for sure !
Love it! Awesome job bud

How would you add a spark arrestor screen to one of these? We are required by law to have them here.
What poulan saw’s are good ? Ever one I’ve been around were not very reliable.
Do turn high up only to get more power do leave the low alone
Interesting stuff, Harvey. Thanks!
is this muffler for work saws or fun saws???
dame that poulan turns up
Can you use the original gasket
Carbon fiber magic!!!
Good video interested in one of your exhaust for 371 was the 372 Xpw big bore from factory thanks
Yes! 51.4mm instead of 50mm
Poulin pro sound good .
