I think its worth mentioning if you've come to the comment section, I am a girl. I havent had much vocal training, and I deliberately chose not to force a high resonance in this video, the Artiswitch video, or FLCL video. I get that I dont pass, but I want you to know if you are going to address me by my gender. (Words often used when refering to me in the 2nd person are, "man, bro, guy, dude, etc.") Try to address me with feminine names or dont refer to me by anything other than my name.
So, I want your take on this because In regards to Jojo's, it's pretty interesting how Araki's stance on killing is "It's immoral, but if you're a bad person who knows they're causing harm, and feel no remorse for doing so, then the world is objectively better off without you." This show unlike any other has the main characters offing the antagonists like it's the correct thing to do, and I find that interesting.
It's only so special because it's done so little in the space of fiction. We're in a time where a lot of media, namely, and more commonly animation, decide that killing someone that has killed before and will kill again is a terrible thing to do and makes you just as bad as them, I'm sure I don't need to call out the examples. This gets infinitely worse when they're doing things far worse with far pettier motive to another person or several other people. People solve conflict just as often with violence as we do compassion, and that song goes unsung by the people who control the status quo.
@@ciccio7663 Not a lot of JoJo fans can really do character analysis, and since JoJoLands hasn't introduced a flashy enough gimmick, fans have been ignoring this one especially
Lawful Good??????? Giorno has no issues, NONE, with breaking the law if it means advancing his goal. Lawful good is someone like Buzzlight year fresh out of the box. This is called, "Neutral good", like Robinhood or even the Doctor. When you're willing to bend the rules for the sake of good or everyone.
@@lXedalinl Fair enough, I didn't take account of the definition of "Lawful Good" but the definition, with how I used it, was that someone promotes an ideology of compassion with strict atonement to that ideology, laws as per the status quo or governmental establishment be damned. However, in a sense, as someone who's upbringing was within an establishment that which crimes go unpunished, and criminal activity is most rewarded, Giorno is well within his own understanding that what he's allowed to do, and what he does for his goal, aren't separate roads to follow. Exactly the same as Robin Hood, actually, because adhering to a corrupt status quo doesn't give you the ability to change it, you're playing its game and benefiting it directly, especially if you don't see it. So Giorno cuts through that facade and deals with the problem by usurping the most politically powerful man in Italy.
I’d definitely argue Giorno belongs more in the chaotic good tier. He definitely has the willingness to do anything for the sake of his goals, even if it brings him pain in the form of loss.
Really like the jjba series overall. You seem to be really good at these essay-type videos and in-depth discussions on topics, almost like I'm watching someone with many more subs(You definitely deserve more subs). Keep up the good work, hope to see more from you.
Now, now… well… it’s shaping up to feel like a spin off, like part 5. Which is a good thing. I’ve been iffy about Jojolands for a while, I need to reread it a few more times. But at the moment it doesn’t even touch the other parts. It’s interesting, I’m engaged, and sweating each month for the next chapter, but there’s some sorrow to it. Jojolands may be the last Jojo we get, you never know. And for it to be like part 5, which was incredibly hard for me to get into (even though it’s one of my favorite parts now) is hard to swallow. But I’m thinking too far ahead, we’ve got at least 9 more years of Jojolands to go. Plenty of time to wow me.
The two main characters are what sold me. Jodio and Dragona are more personally engaging to me than any other entire part by far. It's why I say it's "peak jojo." While the main JoJos are big focuses, Joseph is the only other one that shares this level of depth from what I can see, and Jodio is the one lifting Dragona themself, and not the other way around, like Gyro is to Johnny. And whether or not this is the last official JoJo's, you can always right your own or experience others' stories inspired by it. Lucy Gold Paradise is my most recommended example, but there's also Persona 3-5 etc. Also, something in the back of my mind tells me that JoJoLands is gonna end much sooner than anyone really expects.

So glad to know I wasn't the only one who though this way, almost every Jojo fan I know loves Part 3, and puts Part 5 as one of, if not THE, worst part in the series. And I think completely the opposite, even the fights in part 5 were much more sick and engaging than in part 3 where it basically was trading punching until one of the two died.
The grimdark of Part 5 is particularly jarring, coming off of Part 4, a small, if not complicated string of whacky murder mysteries, to a mafioso drug cartel usurpation scheme. While the entire series has had its genuinely horrific moments, Golden Wind is just... the most. Like, multiple infants die on screen. Besides that, JoJo fans put a lot of value on consistency, despite Araki himself not abiding by it to the point of it becoming a overused meme, "Araki forgot," so when King Crimson was demonstrated, I assume this became a tipping point for many people.
araki frfr had so much time to cook up jojolands and it really shows. L plus no flashback man or stupid character designs that are gonna completely change in 30 chapters (I hope not at least)
I didn't include the flashback because I didn't feel it necessary to bring it up. All the character building was there to for the audience to put it all together before your conclusion can be confirmed
I wrote a comment saying how i think you were wrong about part 7 and 8 returning to a passive writing style but i accidentally refreshed :\ anyway i also wanted to ask where you got those beige manga pages and if you're reading part 9 like that cause it's much easier on the eyes then white
Yeesh this is a rough video, I can’t believe you complain about arbitrary restrictions people put on art and then most of your disses against other parts or series are exactly that. Throwing out crazy points with little backup, getting things straight up wrong about jujutsu kaisen and steel ball run. Your little positive nitpicky look at each member of the part 9 cast can be done to a cast from every part. Also it’s just pure clickbait, trying to say that because the crew has some intrigue it’s peak jojo. Video essay is a stretch.
@@idontcare9661 I gotta say, I love coming back to this comment for a good knee slapper. The way you structure your half-hearted attempt at criticism is utterly without foundation nor demonstration of my complete ineptitude. I sure would like to know what I got wrong about SBR and JJK, but I guess the world may never know, because you deprived your explanation of that fact, and at this point, it almost sounds like you're a little but-hurt that someone said something different about your favorite thing, which is always going to be alright, but you yourself agreed that these artists do indeed arbitrarily restrict their works, so that mustn't be the case. Stagnant characters were my main issue, and while I admit that I made some statements that fly a little high of the bar of the knowledgeability of my audience, I did also account for that same audience being a good one, and being on the same page as me or taking my word at face value to demonstrate my point, and secondly/most importantly, READING THE BOOK I'M TALKING ABOUT. It's almost like I spent time writing and re-writing this script to make sure all my bases were covered, and not regurgitating the same half-assed joke or blatantly obvious statement that everyone else is consistently looping like a broken record. I'd like to add more depth to the conversation of the topics I discuss, but I guess I was wrong, which means I'm COMPLETELY wrong, and there can NEVER be room for me to be right, that's a shame.
