Been so happy with Venator's split EP last year. Such a good marketing tactic to build hype. Now into a full album release. I'm all in on the Venator train. Thanks for the other discoveries.
Good pick with Pure Wrath, Blayne. For those interested in learning more about what Januaryo Hardy is singing about, go read The Jakarta Method, by Vincent Bevins. It's not easy.
I second that. Amazing book - and makes you think - Why do people keep looking for conspiracy theories when stuff like this is happening out in the open?
Cheers for informing me about Lunar Blood. I made it my Bandcamp Friday purchase today. Definite hardcore influences there, somewhat reminiscent of Harm's Way in sound, a bit of Tragedy here and there too.
If you need some Scandinavian melancholy, my band Soliloquium is releasing the new album "Soulsearching" on Feb 25th (digitally & pre-order)/March 18th (physically) 🤘 FFA: Katatonia, Insomnium, Anathema, Swallow the Sun, October Tide
Yes, great video as always! This is the one video I look forward to each month. As an aside, I just got an early birthday present from my wife : From Mars to Sirius (Gojira) vinyl. I couldn't be more happy. I was surprised with the green color of the albums too. I had no idea this one had been released like that. Anyway, I know it's old news for most people but I've been wanting this album for so long.
Glad Cult of Luna got a noteworhty release mention as A Dawn to Fear did not get one in 2019. However, Blayne did review it and here's hoping The Long Road North is more of an album and less songzy LOL. I'm looking forward to all 5 releases from Blayne as well, most anticipated is Schizophrenia! I can also recommend Vorga (black metal) which comes out this Friday via the criminally underrated (IMHO) Transcending Obscurity.
Yeah! I actually put Vorga on the tipsheet we release on Patreon. Very cool record and if Pure Wrath wasn't coming out this month it would have snagged the Black Metal spot.
I am an old man and rely on this monthly video to tell me about new bands and new music. You are a gentleman and a scholar. Thank you. I am most looking forward to Venator this month.
Lol. Before you even said anything, I was like "Why does this sound like a sequel to Painkiller?" Oh and hot damn! All those picks seemed pretty great! You always got me researching bands. Now I'm the cool dude in my group who introduces everyone to new shit. Thanks buddy. 😎🤘🎸
well shit, it's rare to see metal bands from Austria featured anywhere, and Venator are literally from the neighboring city, so now i really gotta check em out! as well as Lunar Blood.
I recently discovered Torpedo and when I heard the name Sargent Salsten my ears perked up..I didn't know he was also in Deathhammer! Very nice, will definitely check out! 🔥🤘
Ah I’ve seen this band many times but never cared enough to give them a real chance. This video convinced me to do it and I don’t regret it! Great stuff.
It'd about damn time that this Deathhammer record is finally going to drop, has been announced numerous time and I've been waiting for an eternity lmao.
I know I’m a few days late on this one…but damnit, Blayne. I had just gotten over the trauma of being reminded of the best boy Morris for the second time (mcomedySad) But great video, as always-I am loving the recommendations that I missed!
Hello! the vocal from Venator sounds (live) to me more like the late Mike Howe, (may he rest in peace!) with some of Blackie Lawless of WASP too. Thanks for this new band, they sound amazing!!! Keep the new sounds coming! \m/
I feel like I got really into black last year. More than I ever thought I would. Mostly due to this show. So I'm stoked to hear the Pure Wrath and Gloamus.
Holy shit! I am excited for a few releases. Especially the Voivod one, and one you didn't mention (and probably won't like) is the new Star One. Yeah... I like a bit of symphonic/prog metal once in a while.
I'm here for the palate cleanse as honestly all the blackened death thrash is starting to sound the same to me, which means I need a break from the pummeling.
I already pre-ordered DeathHammer when I saw it announced. But this is the first MM I am seemingly at a 4/5 buy. Great stuff. And Shield Of Wings?! Local peeps and we used to play with them often. Sadly I fell out of the local scene and glad to see them still going and making records. Need to check it out.

Look up the "2022 metal albums" on Wikipedia.
You'll get a list of basically every major band releasing an album
90% of the music Blayne picks is not for me, but I watch this every month because I love listening to this man talk
Damn bud, that's too kind!
Same reason I register in twitch tv
To see him trash talking about every band member lol
Me too don't like black or doom that much. But I love blayne.
He has awesome taste.
Nah I like most of the music man, but he picks a lot of Death Metal so I end up getting into Modern Death Metal all the time.
Tomorrow, Feb 4th is also coming out
Venom Prison - Erebos
Lunar Tombfields - The Eternal Harvest
Vorga - Striving Towards Oblivion
Mass Worship - Portal Tombs
Abysmal Dawn - Nightmare Frontier ep

This is the first time that I can say I want all five of your picks in a metal monthly video.
Hell yeah, perfect score!
VENOM PRISON February 4th.. Hope it gets a review as penance for missing it off the release schedule! It'll be a big record this year.
Shhhhhh

Will have to go back to check it out. This was the first I heard of them and was FLOORED.
Venator are from my hometown! Ive seen them live, incredibly talented young dudes!
Good pick with Pure Wrath, Blayne. For those interested in learning more about what Januaryo Hardy is singing about, go read The Jakarta Method, by Vincent Bevins.

Lunar Blood is 🔥
Lunar Blood sounds like very early Opeth kicked up a notch, definitely gotta check them out
Keep it up Blayne!! Loving the recommendations, this year is kicking off full of bangers
I will! Thanks for the support!
How's about that Lunar Blood, eh?
🤘
If you need some Scandinavian melancholy, my band Soliloquium is releasing the new album "Soulsearching" on Feb 25th (digitally & pre-order)/March 18th (physically) 🤘 FFA: Katatonia, Insomnium, Anathema, Swallow the Sun, October Tide
Lunar Blood sounds like they listened to Gatecreeper. I dig it
thought the same thing, Lunar Blood might be a little nastier though
I've loved Pure Wrath for a while, dude writes great stuff.
Think I might check out Deathhammer, Lunar Blood, and Schizophrenia and see how that goes.
THAT BIG BOY IS JAKE KRUGER AND HE WILL MELT YOUR FACES!!!! LUNAR BLOOD!!!!!
Blayne got them Elastigirl hips lolz
Lunar Blood, Schizophrenia, and Venator are of interest. Good stuff!
"Maybe you're just out of touch dad!" - LOL!! I am so offended haha!
7:30 this is too real, I am a big ol' lefty and yes sadly a bunch of the lefty metal can be a littlllllleeee suck. But Lunar Blood sounds rad as hell.
That Pure Wrath album sounds amazing.
The record is super unique and very rad.
My thoughts exactly. A must-listen for sure.
Lunar Blood!!!!!! Check them out for sure
Januaryo is also had a brutal death metal band called Perverted Dexterity. You should have listen to it
I am definitely going to pick up that Venator album...that's right in my wheelhouse of metal !
Morris will live forever in our hearts
Pure Wrath fuck yeah, finally something who don't came from US, Canada and the rich part of Europe
Bless Saint Morris.
Ohh dude can’t wait to hear that new Lunar Blood album 🔥👌
Yes... PURE WRATH!!
Saxons- Carpe Diem comes out today. On my way to Hog Wilds Record store to get it
DEATHHAMMER most anticipated release of the year Thrashing 2022 with Electric Warfare 🤘🤩🤘
Zeal & Ardor, new album is out February 11th as well.
I genuinely look forward to these at the beginning of every month.
Yes, great video as always! This is the one video I look forward to each month.

Lunar Blood reminds me of Terminal Nation
DEATHHAMMER and Venator sound badass. I can’t wait their new albums to come out.

Deathhammer great band who pays homage to classic Destruction!!!
Thanks, Blayne.
What I do love about those bands, they are keeping the old sounding of guitars, drums...! this is what I call loyaty.
The Spazz-a-roonie is back for more monthly metal releases!!
I can't help it!
Good list for February. 🤘🏼I'd also add that Ultra Silvam's sophomore album is also being released this month and it's definitely worth a listen!
I didn’t know about Deathhammer and am glad I do now.
Do yourself a favor and listen to Condor and Nekromantheon too while you are at it! 🤘

Isn't Blood Incantation releasing a new album this Month?? Surprised it wasn't mentioned...
It’s a non-metal album by a metal band, so maybe that’s why he chose to leave it out. 🤷🏻♂️
I'm not perfect or maybe we're covering or maybe only the future will tell...

Looking forward to it

Hammerfall but no mention of Saxon?
We mention when Saxon ISN'T releasing a record. Saves time.
For fans of rumbling, kick ass death metal, THORN is releasing Yawning Depths on the 4th. It will be good.
Cool picks, Blayne!🤘
Thanks pal!
I wasn't expecting to be called out like this at the beginning of the video.
It's from a place of love.
