This is giving "Selena Quintanilla Pérez" via 1995 and it's so immensely tragic. Guy killed his best friend's wife because she found out he embezzled $40,000? That's insane, he probably would have been out of prison in just a few years had he just plead guilty to embezzlement charges. It might have been minimum security, too.
A massive waste of tax payer money to lock that man for life without parole. In Singapore, this is a straight death sentence. No second thoughts about it.
Sad part is he coulda just been a man and faced the embezzlement charges and still had a chance at a life... Instead his greed took his "best friends" who world away...

I don't believe that has anything to do with the situation. The Best-man(husbands best friend) worked with the Victim on a politicians(campaign team). When she discovered he had embezzled $40,000+/- from the campaign fund. It doesn't sound like there was ever a problem between them, before that day. For him to react so violently toward such a close and lifelong friend. That's the most concerning issue I have about the whole thing. But, people don't surprise me anymore. They're capable of anything. I just like to know why, what triggered it?
You never confront someone without protection or backup. Things like these happen when someone vulnerable confronts someone who has a lot to lose by exposing him/her.
People will do insane things that they never thought they were capable of when confronted with a situation they perceive as threatening to their livelihood. It’s a psychological phenomenon. A terrible and tragic situation
Exactly. That’s why you NEVER confront someone and back them into a corner. Nothing good comes from it, and you could lose your life. Just report it or ignore it or keep distance
This is how Selena Quintanilla died never confront someone alone. Wow I didn't even realize I had that many likes been so busy but now with the social distancing I have time but not the time I wanted to have 🙈
Yeah, little did she know that this small (sweet) lady could do something like that. Goes to show that she was a wolf in sheep's clothing. Be careful who you trust.
When you experience terrible trauma and grief, there is a very long period of disassociation for many people. I have the same thing. As much as you often want to feel the pain and hurt, sometimes your mind realises that you cannot take it. It's been 3 years for me and still I cannot cry about the terrible loss I suffered. I don't think the shock will ever subside.
You have no idea how you would react in that situation man.. plus it’s not like this happened yesterday it was probably well over a year after the murder so he has probably focused on what he wanted to say and prepared for the moment ..
Guy is talking about how emotionally distraught, hurt and angry he would be in such a situation and your immediate response is to mockingly call him a "tough guy"? Seriously dude? He's not implying how tough he is, he's truthfully saying how difficult of a situation that would be. How he'd have trouble restraining himself. Like anyone, who isn't a psychopath would.

Yes but I doubt that was close to being a reason for him to do it. Its impossible to tell unless you ask him. Imagine if someone confronted you about the same thing, you wouldn't be thinking about jealousy at the time. Only about the punishment you would get after the sentence. So in order to try and get away with his illegal activities he tried to cover it up by murdering the victim. Kinda like in the heat of the moment. Yes its a retarded idea on his part but thats how i see it.
Official Hip Hop Lyrics He may or may not have been jealous, who knows? But it isn't likely he would have killed her had it not been for her confronting him about the money.
I’m sorry but all murder should be life without parole how can you kill someone and get out in 25 years if you take a life yours should be taken as well by being locked up forever
I honestly depends on the circumstances around the murder. They shouldn't ALWAYS get life but in this scenario I definitely agree that he deserves life
I don’t know about that. Some women have been given long prison sentences for defending themselves in situations such as attempted rape or domestic assault. I was in a bad situation at one point where I thought the only way out would be to murder the man holding me captive as a young adult because he always there or one of his people by my side at all times. I planned how I would defend myself the next time he let me around his house for a little bit and when he starts going crazy when he begins smoking meth, I would stab him. But do you know what I kept thinking to myself? “If I kill him, no one is going to believe the circumstances I was in. No one will believe I didn’t have a chance to escape. And I can’t try to escape again because the one time I did, you were chased off, stuffed into a trunk of a car, taken across state lines, and tortured for 2 days. If I kill him, they will think I was just upset about being pregnant with his child or that I’m just an emotionally unstable woman, and they’re not going to believe that the child I was carrying was legitimately just a product of rape!” Sorry if I’m getting too far into detail, but I just want you try to see from someone else’s perspective and realize that decision where you feel you need to defend yourself is a hard one to make. If my last attempt for freedom didn’t work out just perfectly, he certainly would have killed me. When the SWAT team busted the door down, the man that ended up driving me to the SUV station said this.
Yeah I think people get murder and killing mixed up. There is a huge difference. If you murdered someone, it would also be said that you killed them. If you killed someone, it doesn't necessarily mean that you murdered them. Murder has a motive. Killing doesn't always. It could be out of self-defense or to protect others (such as in war).
“But what happens when evil has a key” 💔 :’( my heart is broken. Those words, my god, the chills :’( I almost put those exact words into my own victim impact statement. Rest in paradise, sweet angel. :’(
Sadly I agree, it was risky she did that. It triggered his envyand she should ha e let her husband figure that out between the guys or whatever. But I believe he was jealous before and that situation made him snap.
This is difficult to do though because this close friend turned enemy isn’t a usual occurrence. Wouldn’t it usually be best to confront the people you love and care for if they’ve done something wrong? For their own good? You’d hope to talk some logic into them and you trust them to make a good, sound decision. Or at least rethink things. You wouldn’t expect them to stab you to death. So yeah... easier said than done.
One of the things I’ve learnt watching various crime documentaries and interrogations, listening to victims stories is not to confront but report to police, it’s tragic when someone who’s willing to end someone’s life rather than be exposed, learns this knowledge before police do.

@@debrachretien There were probably the same amount of narcissists and sociopaths in today's elders (during their younger years). But in their twilight years they become more humble, turn to religion/spirituality to put things right with God before they leave this plain (if you're into that sort of thing). And will deny every bad thing that they ever did during their younger years 😆. Oh, and there will be lots of family "secrets & lies" to make sure the youngsters don't find out what kind of people they were.

This is giving "Selena Quintanilla Pérez" via 1995 and it's so immensely tragic. When you find out someone you love that's on your team and is like family (whether you're a famous music artist or politician), steals money from you or embezzles it. We let our guard down because the duality of the person we thought we knew shocks us. Then from there murders you when you confront them with the love you have for them. It makes you think that nothing can prepare us for this fate or the people we love that ultimately betray us when we least expect it.

Nick M he's saying the guy was relatively calm, but says that he would be in more emotional distress when confronting someone in a similar situation.

Yes yes yes! I wish she hadn’t confronted him herself. I imagine she never even considered he would become violent. So very tragic.
