Jay Enrique, I love this lady and has been listening to her for years on youtube. She is famous in her native country for singing Whitney Houston's music and also sounding like her. She has her own music as well. I'm so happy that she came to America to audition. It's time for this wonderful lady to spread her wings and be known all over the world.

Glennis is really good but she's no match for Whitney at her absolute best. On my channel I uploaded the greatest live vocal Whitney has ever done (in my opinion) and it will leave you stunned in disbelief. It isn't widely known outside of her diehard fanbase.
You must put on headphones and let nothing or no-one distract you for 13 mins. It's a 1986 London concert performance of a song called "I am changing", originally sung by Jennifer Holiday in the broadway show DREAMGIRLS. If you're unfamiliar with the song, the lyrics are in the description.
Her voice in this performance js absolutely frightening and seemingly unreal/impossible that a 115 pound 23 yr old girl who looks like a runway model could unleash something like this from her vocal chords...in a live capacity to boot. It's a slow burner that culminated into a massive earthquake. She takes her time in the beginning.
Jennifer Holdiays original version is 3 mins long but Whitney fleshed it out for a full 13 mins of jaw-dropping, otherworldly, super human LIVE vocals with NO background singers. She's accompanied only by her incredible band who did an amazing job with creating the tension, drama and suspense needed to match her vocals.
Just imagine an earth angel, a sorcerer, a missing X-MEN mutant, a 500 foot tall fire breathing dragon incinerating everything in it's path, a 300 pound male opera tenor and a 300 pound female gospel singer--all combined into the voice of a one woman and that is what she sounds like here.
Again- you need to wear headphones at full volume for an optimal listening experience.

That those of us who love Whitney do not understand, listening to Glennis fills us with emotion? Perhaps they can understand it. We've seen hundreds of singing contests and have never, but never heard of anyone who sings like Whitney. Many have tried and it turned out horrible! Glennis and only Glennis is the only one who gives us that beautiful satisfaction. And it doesn't matter if she was famous in her country. If she hadn't been for this contest, none of us would have met her. Since none of us is aware of what happens in the Netherlands. If you weren't for this contest, we would be missing out on her wonderful voice. Because Whitney is no longer in this world. We have lost it. We can never go to hear it live again. And so we are grateful to have met Glennis. Because Glennis is the only one who reminds us of Whitney's beautiful voice😭😭😭

*After watching again, chills came precisely on "Can't you see the hurt in me?"
And I found one flaw in her. JUST ONE. After her first "I want to run to you" verse, her "ooh-hoos" and "hoo-hoos" are not emotionally connected to the message of the song. All of her other vocals are, and are beautifully done. If she could personalize these sounds so that they are the inevitable expression of the feeling which is directly connected to her yearning need to run to the person she's singing about, it would be better than it is. She is using those sounds in this performance as a musical fill, rather than them being something of substantive meaning with intent and feeling and energy behind them which isn't just to dress up the sound. I know that she has the capacity to do this. It probably hadn't donned on her though. This is an acting thing, fundamentally. It's the musical equivalent of what Heath Ledger would do as an actor to flesh out every last bit of specificity and meaning in his lines and actions.
Glennis is so unique... She deserves to be known all over the world! Her amazing talent can't just stay only in Netherlands..! 👌🏻🤩
